It's not any wonder the Wild are worse. But unless I'm missing some sort of eye test, none of the former players are lighting shit up either like you'd kinda expect. I suppose it's a good thing they got Fenton out of dodge quickly, but it's pretty sad to find out these "beloved favorites" in the "young core" were just crap. I guess I should be grateful a shitty GM did the one thing the Wild needed: uncork the bottle and let the shit run free. Leipold certainly kept hyping up the vision, but it's certainly biting them in the ass now, and very hard.

So, the whole Lana thing got me wondering, is there a style of storylines that just don't work AT ALL (Katie Vick for instance), or is down to the writing and presentation?

Because Vince has this "thing" for soap opera over "I'm just better than you. They has fight." But I wonder if that's just on him, or if writers and promoters on the whole just do't get it.

I mean, it doesn't help that Rusev and Lana's entire post-Cena arc has been about trying to break them up...for some reason.

Because I like listening to Cornette. It's not his fault people in AEW flip over the top rope just to mug at the camera and say "Fuck you Jim" or pull out a tennis racket like he gives a shit. Also, Cornette also commented that the Private Party/Young Bucks match should have ended on the SSP too, so I wasn't alone in thinking the match was...kinda dumb in retrospect.

Do I fall in line with Cornette? No. I just find his rants funny, because he knows his schtick works. I don't know if Cassidy falls in the same vein as "Wrestling is a performance art" like Ricocchet and Omega seem to aspire it to be. I just know that Cassidy's gimmick may not be for me. Santino's wasn't either after a while, as that grew stale as fuck. Doesn't have to be. There are enough people in AEW for me to like anyway (The main event scene pretty much).

Awesome match, but there's something I noticed. I want to assume this is either Omega's gimmick, the story of the match (the announcers brought it up a lot), or just some weird thing, but whenever Omega's on offense, he's like those bosses in games who give you a tell for every move he does. He gestures around to the crowd in some way, or just...looks fucking goofy. It's like he's Edge in ring if he had DDP's Yoga smile on his face or something.

Point to the ropes: Dive
Point to the Sky: V-Trigger, run the ropes, or high flying move
Booker T "look at the hand" thing: chops
Both arms out: V-Trigger or One Winged Angel

It's like wrestlers who signal their signature move at the end of the match, but he does it before every move. He also starts running in a weird "HEY LOOK AT ME START TO RUN!" sort of thing I've never seen anyone do.

The match itself was amazing though. All that aside, he definitely moves around the ring and does all the moves very well, with intensity, and fluidity. I can see why he's one of the best, and he and PAC busted out some pretty awesome offense (a wheelbarrow into a German Suplex for instance). It's hard for me not to think, "Kenny's just play wrestling" rather than effective at being a wrestler. Again, I'm assuming that was the story of the match. Overdoing his gimmick more than normal so PAC beat the shit out of him.

As for the tag match, Omega didn't get a bunch of time (since he was the hot tag), but I enjoyed it more than Young Bucks (if that means anything). Very fluid in the ring, even if his facials and movements are as goofy as Cornette tends to exaggerate as a criticism.

Though I will say the "Snapdragon Suplex" seems like too easy a move to just wreck people with on a daily basis. Maybe I'm just used to WWE's safer variants, but OOF that landing. He also took a nasty shoulder/head fall on lariat, so he might want to protect himself a bit more.

Then again, the story was about PAC/Moxley at the end, so I'll save my opinion till I see a singles match.

Wanna say I'm not making excuses, but sitting down to watch wresting has been a lower priority lately when trying to work to save money. I have some free time, so maybe today even.
