These, I love. And I think a lot of the people who bag on romantic comedies in general would love a lot of these older movies. I just don't find the modern variants to be all that compelling, and I think the key to this is a combination of a lack of faith in female audiences by the producers of the films, resulting in inferior films, and the lack of willingness to also appeal to male patrons who, after all, like a good laugh as much as anyone, which results in a large swath of your potential audience having no interest. --- Fair enough, but I think everything you said is wrong and I hate you and you're crazy. |
