Studies on the tests done in Spain found that they had only 30% sensitivity, meaning they correctly identify people with the virus only 30% of the time, sources told the Spanish newspaper El Pas.

Those sources told the newspaper that the tests should have a sensitivity of more than 80%. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says rapid tests for influenza are required to have 80% sensitivity.

The tests were made by a Chinese biotechnology company called Bioeasy, El Pas reported. Other countries, including Georgia, have bought the company's tests.

The Chinese Embassy in Spain said on Twitter on Thursday that the medical supplies China was donating to other countries did not include Bioeasy products.

It said that the Chinese Ministry of Commerce gave Spain a list of manufacturers and that Bioeasy was not among them, adding that it had not been given a license from China's National Medical Products Administration to sell its products.

but ultimately this is still the problem:

On Monday, Spain said it received 640,000 rapid testing kits from China and South Korea; it is unclear how many were manufactured by Bioeasy.

Medical professionals in the Czech Republic have also said that rapid tests from China were not working properly, but it was not clear whether these tests were also made by Bioeasy.

they got lucky in that they managed to get a specific shipment and tested its accuracy.
problem is they don't know how much of all of their shipment is bullshit. same for other countries too. you don't know if your rapid test is 70% false.

yeah, the only reason why NY is such a big threat is because we test that much. we put out over 10k test a day, 80-90% are coming back negative, but by sheer numbers we're skyrocketing past everyone else.

i still wouldn't personally but at least i'd understand that more. however i'd still have to say that's if they took the actual supply meant for humans, the pills, and not literally a cleaning supply for fish shit. even then, the medicine would tell you the limit (e.g., take one every 6 hours) and if you go past it, that starts going on you. it's not the Advil's or the doctor's fault if i take 1600mg of ibuprofen in 6 hours, that's on me.

if someone buys fish cleaner, or frankly any cleaner, for human consumption i fully put that on the person themselves. like i'm sure it's doable, just like a few droplets of chlorine can be good for water, but that doesn't mean you drink from the gallon. there's a line where personal stupidity outweighs everything else, eating cleaning supplies sounds like a pretty clear one.

holy shit, that's an amazing cut.
2 days ago italy was 6557/793, infections/death.
1 day ago: 5560/651.
today: 4789/601.

they are consistently dragging those numbers down HARD. there's still just one major problem here... the death rate. they're dropping infections, which will in turn drop that value later. but right now it'll go up... and right now it's 11.6%. but this is technically due to improvements not being seen immediately, the ones dying are because of the past 2 weeks. in 2 weeks these effects will show themselves.

What are you talking about? The discretionary fund? It is because you can't predict exactly what is going to need bailed out as time goes on. If you use the Production Act to force companies into producing then those companies are likely to go under also unless you can support them.

You need flexibility to help companies as you determine they need helped and as the process ongoes.
