California has done well so far but with a smaller curve you do still have to maintain social distancing for a longer period of time. The real test is still coming and I know multiple idiots that have stated they dont intend to be cooped up beyond Easter.

Incumbency advantage is very strong and people tend to support the President in a crisis regardless of how horrible his response is since they don't typically follow the news cycle but the media will always interrupt coverage for Presidential news conferences. The President basically gets to control media consumption to a significant degree.

Despite what people here would like you to believe, the average person hasn't seen much of Biden or Sanders for the last couple of weeks.

It was either the bottom or close. The rebounds we had tell us that people still have money to invest. We might slowcreep down to near that bottom but we aren't going to crash again unless a major earthshattering death(Trump?) due to the virus occurs.

Its not about deserving. Its about being realistic that it is a 2 party system.

And no, you arent building a 3 party system by voting third party(You just make both parties scoff at you and Russia salivate at you).

The only way a third party happens would be starting at lower levels of government and moving up. I don't think anyone is currently making strides in this direction.

The whole +1 nonsense only really checks out if you assume "generic Democrat" and then also assume that everyone who has ever voted D once will always vote D without taking into consideration that there is no such thing as "generic Democrat" in the real world.

If you are a true swing voter it does not apply. If you are a Bernie voter, he is so far to the left of Trump you are not a swing voter. Hell even Biden voters aren't swing voters right now.

Most swing voters are the "vote the guy I'd have a beer with type". If your engaging on a political topic on a message board its easy to assume you arent a swing voter.

I'm a pretty unique personality, tbh. I will never claim to be anything but a realist and blunt honesty is a one of my traits I value highly because I feel like too much of the world is afraid to just up and tell people things as they are. This can be hard to swallow for people sometimes but at the end of the day it keeps me sane.

Also its not do what I want with the Bernie votes. What gets me with them is they claim to support Bernie, but Bernie Sanders literally tells everyone that if Biden is the nominee they should unquestionably vote for him to be president. It ticks me off because these people believe in Bernie Sanders up until it means they wont get exactly what they wanted.

When I say todays youths are a bunch of entitled shits, the younger group that turns from Bernie and votes Trump or doesn't vote at all just shows they are just a bunch of entitled brats.

trump is 100% correct on this one. trump ain't asking for a lockdown even, all he's said he'd do is limit the borders, which is fine and should be well within his powers. just like Congress controls interstate commerce, state borders are an interstate issue. if he can get the bordering state's governors to agree with blocking off the tri-state area, that should suffice.

With the quarantine I'd bet he was asking for more. For the sake of the people in NY I'd hope hes asking for more. No one there should be having any contact with anyone outside their residence, they are too far gone at this point, almost everyone in any essential industry has likely had exposures.

They should be in total lockdown and working on ways to get supplies to residences and the definition of "Essential" for workers should be very slim(medical professionals and those needed to pass essentials off to locked down people).

They are at the point where hospitals being overrun is basically already in progress and the curve is only going to get worse for at least two weeks before getting better.

But again to that point, I would reiterate, on any of these issues. Trump is far right, both Biden and Bernie are way to the left. They are far closer to each other than Trump despite what people in this topic would make people try to believe.

The 4th is not actually legislation and is a fantasyland argument based on war hypotheticals.

Actually the first is an answer but not even close to the extremes you are going(Bernie has more of a plan for this one, Biden is more on the path to legalization at this point but it amounts to very similar policy I would guess).
