Listening to someone older trying to talk about electronics/etc to others and I die inside even though I've explained it a few times. I told him about an ethernet cable... calls it a wi-fi cable. Called the internet 'the online' such as 'buying stuff off the online' and when told something's eating all the bandwidth it's 'draining all the power'

.... also apparently a router/modem is a server now? There's more, but yeah. Also it's somehow my fault they can't run PC CD-ROM's in the tv's DVD player or can't use discs in a laptop without an optical drive.

I wouldn't make it as tech support, because I'd be out of my mind before even starting the day.

Btw, this comes from someone who purposely overscans the image on tv and thinks hdmi and component (not hd component) are exactly the same.
Also just remembered he thinks he got a great deal on a laptop because it has a touchpad... in 2019 while calling it a touchscreen.

I don't hate it... entirely. The beak and mouth piss me off though, reminds me of peppa pig and amazing world of gumball way too much. The rest of it and the sorta friendly style is ok... it's just that damn beak and mouth.

It's tolerable/acceptable solo, but definitely better... or worse, with others. I suppose it'd be a nightmare if you play with a total loot hog and you might as well forget random online sessions are those are usually worse due to duping/modding/kickers. Nothing like people running public open lobbies, kicking people... you could just go solo or set it to invite only, instead they just spend all day kicking randoms.

Anyways, they're fine solo, I've done all 3 solo and all 3 with others. Different experiences due to pacing.

As for how they are? Depends... 1 is a bit clunky/dated these days, 2 is probably the best, but aged as well. 3 is a rollercoaster based on balance changes of the week and feels noticably meh...

I never touched TPS, because it had issues and iirc there's bits that discourage solo play.

Oh yeah, to further answer.... yes, they can last a long time, but could be boring if solo. It's all about that rng/loot grind. Gameplay is all about shooting and spamming abilities... and scooping up worthwhile loot. The endgame can be an absolute slog... because things become bullet sponges, so be warned if you want to play them to max level. 3 semi solves the bullet sponge issue due to how it scales and how you can turn it on/off.

I couldn't decide which to pick, but went with kicked out because it'd probably be the one. I was told to leave and get out because the tv in my room wouldn't turn on once because my dad wanted to watch Fox news one night, so you can figure the rest out on how he reacts at everything. Breaking glass, etc at everything. For some reason the powerstrip had enough and stopped working... better kick your son out on the street.

I even recall at one point when younger having to be rude and seperate myself from those I tried to be friendly with because the one boy played with barbies and this one girl was black (I'm white). Would get yelled at randomly about them and had to basically cut any social interaction. I didn't figure it out til much later, seeing as I was young.
This randomly went on... to the point I was basically stuck in the house doing videogames, then it was the videogames fault.

I forgot how weird they were.... you moved fore/back/turned with the Dpad, and the shoulders were to strafe and look up/down. The face buttons were for shooting/locking/boost.

I don't know if they were different in japan, but I do remember there being some games where you used the L1+R1 to go forward, L2+R2 to go backwards, L1+R2 to turn right, etc. If either of these are the case I don't blame em. Pretty sure there was a game where holding the controller nearly sideways was the way to go, but hell if I remember.

Basically google/youtube broke the law, paid 170mill or so in fines and made a deal to slather on changes for youtube as a whole, even though they had or just introduced a youtube for kids app. They could have just required you to be signed in all the time, but that hurts ad viewage since making an account scares some off, so instead decided people who review/show toys/lego/cartoons/etc should be punished instead. We the viewers are punished because we can't comment, watch in miniplayer, or save it to a playlist iirc.
If you mislabel your video the FTC will come for you with a 42k usd fine per video, or so they claim.

It doesn't help the AI/systems youtube uses to automatically flag vids is borked. It was deleting robot combat videos such as robot wars/battlebots as animal abuse/fighting.

ugh, what's with this "YouTube kids" apps thing? it disabled all of the comments on any video flagged for kids, even though it was not for kids.

Welcome to what is basically our punishment for youtube's failure. Happened around decemberish last year if you recall the whole COPPA thing. If it's flagged for as kids it's non-monetized, no comments, can't be played in the miniplayer. Was supposed to also hide the like/dislike, but I see them there.

Yes, it screwed a lot of channels/vids up. Btw I remember some pointing out the system randomly flagging southpark bits for kids, because ya know... FOR THE CHILDREN.

He'll mock actors who are straight in a gay role how they're suffering etc. But if they're actually gay he'll hate on em for something. Then there's also transphobia tossed in as well... absolutely loses his shit and seeing as he loves those military programs it's always good times when that one doctor is on. If the episode is pre 2008ish they're a he, if it's after they're a she. Always gets pissy when they're on and turns it while muttering stuff like 'not gonna go there' 'forgive me' 'not gonna say it' etc.
He also hates these interracial couples in commercials and shows. If it's white+asian it's ok, if it's white+black then they're pushing something. Could literally be the same commercial with 2 of the same ethnicity it's fine, simply swap it so it's a white guy and black woman then they're trying to push it on you.

I know my parents still use a VCR with VHS daily. Because new stuff is too complicated. I cannot count the number of times I've tried to explain how component, hdmi, coaxial are different due to how they function and their bitrate, it's all lost... to them a component(non hd octopus) upscaling through a vcr to a tv is completely the same as when the same tv has hdmi from a better source. ffs, you can actually hear the audio difference. They also act like changing source is the most difficult thing when it's just 1 button pressed twice.

So yeah, I've basically given up and don't even bother when the one wonders why playing back a recording of something on a 10+ year old casette isn't as legible as it was when displayed through hdmi.

Then again they try to run PC CD-ROMs in the dvd player.

This is why we have cable, so the one can watch fox news 24/7 and complain about how every network is run by democratics.

Hallmark is, or was, doing christmas stuff nonstop in an attempt to cheer us up.

As much as I can... I too had build up over the years because never really cleaned and have parents that just pile stuff up when there's no room for it. Then one day it snapped and I spent like 8 days solid gutting and going through just one room. It's getting to a point I now need to figure out how to extract and swap out the furniture. Also still have some other areas to clear out, but I get yelled at for cleaning as well.

None of it is garbage, such as rotting food etc, just clutter... such as boxes or stuff that no longer serves a purpose.
I'm trying to resist doing the furniture part, as it's not priority and now ain't exactly the greatest time for that.

I do however have to dust pretty often.

I assume that and the looming termite swarm season is where it comes from... I get stress/anxiety around this time of year, because swarm season is a grand ole time.

Dreamed I was in bed cowering away from jumping trapjaw ants. I know they're in the area/yard, so it's not out of the ordinary. There were other types ants too and they were basically coming to get me, so a spider built a web across my legs to intercept them.

Then it skipped to the neighbors ripping up the sewer system and complaining about even bigger ants that blocked the lines as they're burrowing up under the ground.

I don't know what the reasoning/fuel was for that.

But seriously I'd probably harm them eventually due to an issue I've developed/noticed years ago. I don't ever intend harm (99% of the time), but things happen. I've mostly curbed it, but it still tries to slip out. So I don't want em for that and several other reasons. I'd make a not great parent.

One thing that always stood out about it when younger, was how incredibly worthless it was for hydrating/thirst. I wouldn't be surprised if alcoholic beverages are better at it.

If you drink an entire can of coca-cola, you won't be as sated if you drank water. But you at least somewhat feel it kicking in.
Drink a can of hawaiian punch and it will might as well not exist, hell you'll probably be worse off.

I know this because there was a time I could chug two entire cans of it back to back and noticed how unbelievably unique it was. It really sucked when that was the only drink available... outside of water from the tap, but water is for squares and horses out at the trough.

I watch it if I'm in a particular mood or just bored/lazy. It's honestly one of the better shows from that catagory.

Pretty sure they aren't making it anymore, but some of the episodes are interesting to see how damn well they correct things. When they can take breasts that look like an over inflated volleyball got wailed on by a sledgehammer for years and the other used as a chewtoy for fido, only to make them look like the best 30 year old rack. It's pretty impressive.

They also shoot down some clients, but those are mostly there to just baffle the viewer at this person's life choices. There was a woman who decided she wanted to be a barbie after some event and since dolls don't have jobs, she has fans pay for all her stuff. She was very thin and wanted like 3000cc or so implants.

Yeah, same. Wanna run to the store to get something like you normally would? Well, they're either closed or you can't because someone's using it as TP alternative.

It's also having a somewhat noticable impact on network performance due to load/traffic, so can't even enjoy that.

All in all it very much reminds me of a hurricane that's coming or come but does no damage beyond the mass prep/lack of supplies (Ok, deaths/sickness could be considered damage, but you know what I mean). Probably why I'm not as bothered by it, as it seems familiar, but not quite.

Not really, but it does feel a bit surreal/weird to be going through it. Everything is shut down or in limited operation, which is what's the biggest impact of the feeling.

To be fair the original xbox has a capacitor that will literally suicide the board over time. So I'm sure mine is done for as I never did bust it open and swap it. It also still had the recalled AC cable that'd potentially set fire.

i gamed dangerously, considering my gamecube also had a knife go into the AC cable as well where I had to fix it with tape. :s

I guess it's just the simplicity that's alluring. Though more recently it's just as much of a headache in different form. This is why part of me misses the day of slam dunking a cart into the system and away we go.
