Here is an entirely factual account of an incident last week, with my 2 year old son.

For context, my wife was cooking an omelette.

My son decides of all the myriad delights and distractions he has available, the thing he wants to do most of all is grab the frying pan and/or touch the flame.

"Sweetheart, please get away from the stove".

He attempts to rush forward, like a one-child moshpit at a Slipknot concert.

I pick him up, and take him to the lounge room and attempt to speak reasonably to him.

He slips my grasp, and makes a beeline for the stove.

My wife intercepts him, and once again, I lift him up and this time, I transfer him to his bedroom.

Once again, he makes a break for it after a few minutes and manages to get within a few centimetres of the flame and/or metal saucepan.

I grabbed him, and gave him a single smack on the leg, between his nappy and knee.

He left the saucepan and oven alone until the omelette was cooked.

Pray tell me, dear boy, would third degree burns be better for his ongoing mental health?

tbh as someone who has a stove thats higher that a foot off the ground, I find this impossible to relate to

aren't VP picks usually pandering? Candidates choose VPs that appeal to voters that they appeal less to as a way of winning them over.

To any of you who have moved from weights at the gym to at-home workouts, any ideas for exercises that strengthen legs/lower back? Ugh, nothing can replace weighted squats/deadlifts. There are plenty of bodyweight exercises for upper body.

It's the fourth story I have seen like this in a week of young apparently healthy people dying of this. The first had leukaemia, the second was obese and the third (actually mentioned in the article) didn't even die from COVID.

I also think there is a trend to not take symptoms in young people as seriously until they get much further along as they are not thought of as vulnerable, both by health care workers and the patient themselves. This is obviously concerning but not actually reflective of the severity of the disease itself.

not to be insensitive, but I would wait before this is confirmed by more than the mom's facebook account

Ah, the UK. Where criminals have more rights than the victims and you're expected to give way to criminals.

He broke and entered into the victims home, anything that happens to him is fine, including death.

I could care less if he was even stabbed in the back / front, or shot in the back while fleeing.

Hell thrown knife into the back while fleeing.

Criminals have been known to come back soon after.

Plenty of cases where criminals repeatedly attack the same family soon after.

The only good criminal is a dead criminal.

HOW do you QUICKLY filter out the people benefiting from this? No one has time for this. Americans have no savings. Two weeks and youll see a lot of them go down.

I think most outsiders just have a hard time relating to living in a first world country with such god awful infrastructure.

I feel like selectively giving thousands of dollars in handouts to people who aren't working, while excluding the people currently working (at risk to themselves) to keep society running, would be a terrible move.
