aggro deck went 6-3, just got beat by control decks with board wipes

so for my second draft I first picked the Giant with the board wipe adventure and now I have the most annoying control deck.

I have War of the Spark Jace and Thassas Oracle and have managed to win games by self milling, milling my opponent, and by dealing damage (thanks to countering a Questing Beast and then Body Doubling it). This is great.

Cube feels overwhelming to me right now

so many good cards how do you even choose what to first pick

I dont remember what am my options were, but I chose Embercleave P1p1 and now have some sort of Gruul aggro deck with Sarkhan at the top of my curve and im doing alright but it might just be because my opponents have been doing so badly

Depends on if this is only the beginning.

heres the thing

so far these are very old cards that theyve banned and, crusade excluded, cards they would never have reprinted anyway, so theres basically no cost to WotC banning them

whether or not there are more recent cards that could be deemed equally offensive to imprison, it seems really unlikely that they would ban anything anyone actually cares about unless it was somehow egregiously racist and I cant imagine a remotely recent card that would qualify

I expect theyll ban a few other cards from the super early days, but that will almost certainly be the end of it.

And I was really hoping we'd get more info on Elden Ring and Starfield.

Ratchet and Clanks crazy dimension hopping bit seemed like it couldnt work on PS4 due to how much loading might be necessary. Lack of load times in general is probably going to be the bigger advancement with this gen rather than just visual upgrades.

my friends arent a random sampling, but they are mostly middle class white dudes and all they had to say a couple days ago were complaints about the cops because they got pulled over or whatever.

in some abstract indirect way maybe theyve been protected from crime by police being present somewhere, but I dont think any of them would have a clear example of a time theyve been helped and their impression of cops from the town we grew up in was that they were dicks. the town was too safe so the cops had nothing better to do than bother high school kids.

Yeah, I think I find it so shocking because I remember Dolphin as being a thing that was still in its very early stages just to play GCN games.
I mostly stopped messing with emulators for like ten years until earlier this year when I finally decided to download a GB emulator to play the Japan-only Pokemon TCG sequel.

it took like ten minutes for me to go from having nothing to playing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King

then I had the startling realization that its been about as long from the launch of the Wii to now as it was from the launch of the SNES to like 2005 or whenever it was that I got really into emulating those games

oh god im so old

oh well now instead of playing SMRPG on an SNES emulator, I can play it two levels of emulation deep with the Virtual Console version
