If you're curious, it's probably better described as "bacon-flavoured onion jam" than "bacon jam." There's definitely a bacon flavour to it, but the base of the jam is very much the caramelized onions.

Let's say it is basically identical to real meat. Blind studies are unable to tell the difference essentially 100% of the time. What would make you choose the real thing over a plant based steak at that point?

Ok, even if your scenario were possible where they could prefectly match the texture of a good ribeye, the muscle tissue, the fat that is spread through it, the way the layer of fat along the edge gets a little crispy from the heat of the broiler, etc. (they can't, that's why all this imitation meat is ground) The extremely processed nature of imitation meat would be why I'm not interested. They've been telling us for decades that highly processed foods are not as good for you as more natural, "whole foods" and imitation meat is some of the most highly processed food around.

Now if they could grow actual meat in a lab, muscle tissue with fat marbeling, etc. and match the various cuts, without the need to slaughter an actual animal, I'd be interested in that. That's far more likely to be possible than taking plants and processing them in a way to perfectly match actual cuts of meat and not just ground meat.

There was a guy who was a part of my church group when I was a kid that was a handful of years older than me. At some point when he was in his I think mid 20's he tried to off himself by downing a bottle of pills but ended up living. However, he did so much damage to his body that he now is pretty much fully physically disabled. Like, can't talk, can't move, can't walk, really can't do anything. I understand his brain, however, is fully functioning. So now he's supposedly a normally functioning brain trapped inside a completely nonfunctioning body.

Literally my worst fear.

Dude should have done some research. You can't take just any bottle of pills. You uave to pick the right ones. Or that is exactly what is likely to happen. Surviving the attempt but all fucked up.

I saw a story about a woman who was stupid enough to cut off her nipples and flush them down the toilet because of a random phone call. There was also the fast food manager that strip searched a female coworker because of a random phone call. People can be really fucking dumb.

At least this stupid chick that you work with stopped halfway through and decided to call someone that she knew. This is what saved her.

my building doesn't have security, my last didn't either... my last building didn't even have on-site maintenance until early this year, despite being launched about 4-5 years ago.

Is your site super small? Does it have product? Or is it just offices or something? Nobody gets in our building without their ID badge. Once this covid shit is over the metal detectors and the xray machines will get used for thorough exit screenings for every single person leaving the building.

With the level of security they have here, I have a hard time imagining Amazon not having any security at a site with product.

We're shut down until 6AM Saturday. Our entire facility is locked up tight. Not a single person in the massive building that we have here in Bakersfield. Half my guard staff was even allowed to go home early tonight after we finished securing the site. Just a few of us watching the building from the parking lot.

My shopping is done but one of my items will not arrive on time. They waited four days to ship it after it was ordered.

My mother was asking for some nice, heavy sweat pants and sweat shirtsto keep her warm when she feeds the horses in the morning. I couldn't get my mom sweat pants for christmas though. I ordered her a nice pair of insulated coveralls. But Amazon didn't have quite was I was looking for so I had to order it from another site. It won't arrived until the 27th. :(

But to make sure she has something to open, I printed out a picture of them life size. Cut out all the pieces, taped them together and folded it up real nice. I'll wrap it tomorrow.

I wear one for eight hours a day, five days a week. I still haven't gotten used to it. My beard and mustache actually get damp after awhile from the hot, moist air being exhaled into it. I am constantly aware of the mask on my face.

I'm sure pretty much everyone does. Dishwashers are nice but they don't really remove everything...and ideally there should be almost zero bits of food on there before you load it.

If you have a good dishwasher that isn't over 10 years old and you didn't do something silly like only connecting it to cold water, then it shouldn't have any problems properly cleaning your dishes without you washing them first.

Most of the time I don't even bother rinsing my dishes before putting them in and they always come out perfect.

There are many models (once you step out of the budget washer range) that even have built in hard food disposals for grinding up leftover bits that were still on the dishes.
