we've had a decline before, twice now really.
thing is there's just no way it doesn't go back up. and there's some countries you just know the data is just garbage - China, India, Iran, and Brazil are all known examples.

as it stands we're pretty much in the situation that was planned for at the start: don't overwhelm the hospitals and medical system, make sure the supplies are increased, and make sure emergency situations can be dealt with. at the time people were saying that it'd just be spreading out the virus but well... yeah, that was one of the major intentions as a worst case scenario if no better option appears (see: it doesn't mutate its own death). as long as we can improve treatment then we're pretty much doing all that can be practically done.

Decided to put the limited resources I had into Mona. Team Waifu.

my regular team right there.
Mona i love using and it's largely for exploration. she zips around the map fast, i don't worry about swimming bullshit, just go vroom. her E has a taunt and works REALLY well with Oz/Fischl, i tend to lay the two together and laugh. it's my main tactic for the water mini boss up until the end, where i also throw in Xiangling's burst because that shit utterly crushes.

oh yeah, that team wrecks the electric cube too. Mona + Jean handle it easy and if you're paying attention you can 100% of the time never get trapped inside or hit by the rock paper scissors thing, she is easily fast enough to avoid all 3. even if you mess up on the cage attack, you can still hit him from inside and i've forced it to end early because he's gotta enter his healing phase.

...at which point activate Xiangling's burst and that + Jean's E makes him die before healing once.

kaeya is viable, yes.
he's also going to be your main ice guy for a while unless you get lucky. his role will be primarily freezing shit which he admittedly is great at, though you'll probably swap him for another character afterwards unless you're unlucky and pull him like 4 times.

multiple elements on the same team can be fine. you've got two electro with him, meaning you get High Voltage. be sure to swap in Barbara often for the hydro reaction.

Razor is a good unit. probably overlooked because Fischl is electro and is top tier but he's good. probably replaces Noelle, especially since you've already got Barbara. two electro on a team is a pretty good mix for Fischl too for the record, it actively keeps Oz on the field more often as you're going to generate more energy for her. the game is seriously primarily about swapping characters when it comes to combat and two electro with her as Oz spam is basically the current meta.

worst case get some friends in the game to clear content, once you hit 30-35 you're basically going to run into a wall and not be able to do much. ...actually wait, i don't think anybody's posted their UID yet?

as for shields, water > ice > fire for how much it sucks to deal with them.
bubbles are shit. legit the only reason i've leveled Kaeya. Fischl can deal damage with Oz on all of them but water takes too long compared to the rest (and fire is Mona/Barbara bait).

that's what i'm expecting as well. due to how stupidly contagious this thing is i'd expect all the "good" countries to have a major issue now because there's an honest limit to what you can do. it's just a matter of time until most people get it in some way or another, ideally it's just a small enough load that it doesn't get you sick and hospitals aren't overloaded.

stormterror fight i just went fuck it, Mona/Barbara. aiming is such a shitty mechanic sometimes in the game and it's awful in that fight.

and Noelle doesn't actually have very good DPS until her burst is available. when that's active, she's amazing. when she doesn't, she's not that good. however a greatsword user has some benefits that make me level her up.

Amber's pretty awful but has her uses, limited they may be.
that doll of hers has a taunt effect and more importantly, her burst shreds those enemies with a bubble around them while also being an easy way to switch to Fischl and Overload 'em.

...other than that, she's basically just field support. wanna break those lightning crystals, she's good for it. fire puzzles of some kind, she's got it. want more gliding, she's your girl. she's pretty much just hard support.

nobody said anything about yesterday but Ina had her karaoke night. girl's got a pretty great singing voice too. as it stands i think it's Kiara > Gura ? Ina > Ame for singing ability, with Calli in a weird category due to her singing/rapping. Gura's great in her range, her Fly Me To The Moon and Baka Mitai were top notch. Ina might have a better range though.

meanwhile Kiara's currently playing Mario 64 again.

some overworld themes (e.g., Chrono Cross - Another World) or sad songs (e.g., Chrono Trigger - At The Bottom of the Night) come to mind but it's pretty limiting. really it depends how major character or story theme is defined. does the opera scene in FF6 count as major? how about Luna's boat song from Lunar?

oh, yeah. gold is used up too and will be a limiting factor for you and weapons.
basic rule seems to be that you really only want to focus on 2-3 characters as it gets expensive. you can probably ascend everyone once and be fine but later ones... not so much.

for exp you're using up the EXP books you get. if that's what you mean then yes, that's the main method of raising EXP.

regarding new skills:
dupes = constellations, which unlock stuff. MC will get these through the game, the first one you can buy from the jewel icon person in town, even.
ascending = new skills as well, means you hit the level cap and unlock the next batch of levels.

healing without food: level up, goddess statues, certain characters like Barbara.

there's a reroll guide out there for how to do it right on reddit or the main wiki, i believe there's two main re-roll points people have depending on how many pulls on banners they can do. did hear some people had issues when they did it wrong with account bans or whatever but honestly... this is one of those games where re-rolling doesn't seem THAT useful compared to just playing regularly right now. the game is heavily based around elemental combos. barbara can be obscenely powerful, heals, and is free. noelle may not be THAT good 90% of the time but once you get the hang of her she's alright and has those brief moments of being top DPS in the game (recharge on this suuuucks though and she needs some serious energy recharge bonuses).

re-rolling for venti just seems like mathematical hell where it's probably best to just take the pity system for a 5* and manually keep track instead.

if you rush it, 20-30m or so.
there's a few characters who make the game much easier. Venti (5*) and Fischl (4*) are two popular ones. the latter easily outdoes most characters and only a handful of 5* are competitive. since she's a 4* she's not THAT hard to get. combined with water or fire users, she goes from good to amazing. if you get any 5* though might as well keep 'em, they vary in usefulness but all are strong. just be aware that the rate is quite low and the game is entirely PvE and almost exclusively single player.

it isn't necessary and the game does give you a greatsword user that uses earth for a guaranteed character in your first roll (tank with burst damage and minor healing), it gives you a healing water mage at rank 20, and it gives you a fire polearm user when you can clear high enough content. only the last one there seems to be a permanent addition, the other two are for early adopters. said water mage is typically built for healing but people have gotten some impressive results with her as a DPS unit too, especially since her healing is also based off her attack/damage so uh... yeah. kill shit faster and heal.
