Sorry to go all English teacher on you, but the truth is that we don't know what the assistant actually said because you didn't tell us. Unless you use quotation marks delineating her exact words, we don't know what she said. We know only the narrator's interpretation, which may or may not be correct. Since your grammar is flawed in the third sentence (misplaced dependent clause) and the fifth sentence (comma fault/run-on sentence), the meaning is unclear. The lack of direct quotations also adds to the ambiguity.

I am not meaning to be critical, or mean, but grammar rules exist for a reason. The dependent clause in sentence 3 does not lead into the independent clause. I believe it should read:

You go into the brain clinic in central Florida. The assistant hands you a telescope and says, "Find a planet at 12pm. If you can find a planet with the telescope, the brain surgeon will give you $1,000,000." Before she leaves, you look at the clock and notice it says 11am. You ask her, "Is this a trick?" She says, "It must be a 'real planet.'" She grabs her umbrella, giggles, and goes on her lunch break.

How can you win this bet?

The above would be grammatically correct, but it may not be narratively correct.

I've always wondered about things like this--though never with this specific instance. But like, a lot of child actors get put in adult scenarios in movies. I wonder if it plays a role in why so many quit acting or turn to drug abuse or suicide.
Not quite the same, but I remember reading about how the kids who were in Kindergarten Cop weren't allowed to see the movie because of its violence.

I don't mind the 'adventure of the week' style shows but the nature of it in The Mandalorian can feel so repetitive at times.

"I need thing"
"Okay but first you do thing for me"
"Okay"
*10 minutes later*
"This wasn't part of the deal"
"Yes but I need your help"
"Okay"

I don't mind it sometimes but I dunno when it comes to episodes like a season opener I expect something a bit more. It shouldn't take 4 episodes for a season to get going.
Isn't that in and of itself part of its formula, though? I've never been a fan of westerns, and I don't even know what "spaghetti western" means, but I keep reading that "The Mandalorian" is pretty classic spaghetti western format.
