I saw that developer video as well and he said that Mercury stream knew the Metroid series well, which I kinda took issue with.

As much as I loved the 3DS Metroid 2 remake, they completely missed the central point of the original Metroid 2 for the Gameboy.

The original game had this claustrophobic atmosphere and you always felt this extreme isolation because you were completely alone on a planet filled with hostile wildlife and the very dangerous Metroids.

And as you went deeper into the planet, the wildlife started to diminish.
At the bottom, there was pretty much only the Metroids left as if they've exterminated everything else.

And Mercury Steam completely missed this aspect of the game and introduced even more enemies throughout the entire game.

I mean the end of the original Gameboy game was similar, as you get closer to the final boss the enemy count is reduced and you face mostly Metroids. Shit many of the other games end that way also, in Super Metroid once you unlock the final area where Mother Brain resides you face mostly Metroid enemies.

Samus has a main goal of eliminating Mother Brain in the earlier games, but her other goal has always been to completely eliminate the Metroid species since it's far too dangerous to exist.

From what I heard after listening to the developers talk about this, they had an idea for a Metroid game like this back in 2003. They could not at the time make the game in the style and mechanics they wanted based on the technology of the time.

So it sat on the shelves for a long time then recently they dusted it off and here we have it. Probably why it's a direct sequel to Metroid Fusion, since that is the furthest game in the Metroid timeline and this would have come after that.

So even more amazing is this is the first game to advance the Metroid story into future events since 2002 when Metroid Fusion came out. The events of every Metroid game that has come out since Fusion has taken place before the events of Fusion.

Finally...all those mobile looking remakes looked like crap. Hopefully they compile them for consoles. It's always shocked me that Square Enix sits on those games when people will buy them like crazy.

The Final Fantasy series is probably the most heavily remaked and re-released series of all time. Square goes back to the well on these games again and again, owning every version of every FF game on each system would be a large stack of physical products, and a large stack of digital only products.

Considering the sales numbers of FFXV, I think the franchise already appeals to modern audiences.

Well you know how companies are, in their world if your company isn't growing it's slowly dying. A giant company like Square-Enix isn't happy unless they are selling the game to everyone that plays video games.

Well, I can see where they are coming from they are trying to make the FF series more appealing to modern audiences.

While it can be a bit annoying that stuff like this happens, I wouldn't call it a horrible scenario, this coming from someone that grew up with the first game in the series and has played and beaten nearly every game in the series.

I also would much rather they do this type of thing to remakes of old games, than make Final Fantasy XVI more like this.

I really think Network is a damn good movie, he didn't have a huge part in that film though.

Nintendo is only part owner in the Pokemon thing, they don't have full control over it.

Odds are if you stock away $25 a month just for dental procedures odds are you end up better off. Even if the terms were more favorable unless you need a ton of dental work done, $25 a month should cover most procedures for the average person.

I mean looking at how much he spent looks like he went through the entire amount in a few months at most. $1 million dollars after taking the lump sum isn't much if you run out and buy a new car and build a new house then buy a bunch of shit to fill it.

Kinda funny seeing people complain about Mantis Lords when it's really not that difficult. The game gets much harder later on, and goes way beyond that in the free DLC.

I usually die a few times on Mantis Lords getting into the fight, because it is one of the more difficult fights in the early game but it's nowhere near super hard.

Well watching a movie is a far less time consuming thing, so 2ish hours vs. 12-20 for each game.

I will say this Kojima's worst game as far as critics are concerned is still better than a lot of other developers best game.

Kojima revolutionized the video game industry for the better, Zack Snyder never did that for movies.

I mean the main time being in the military sucks is when a major war is going on, now there is always some war going on these days but depending on what you do you might not be deployed to that area.

I also was surprised to see this article because I have been told they made Marine basic training far more harsh back in the 80s-90s or before that time. The current Marine basic training is a shell of it's former self and the hell they used to put guys through. Sure, being say a Navy Seal or something is still a nightmare to go through, but that type of thing is not for the average military person.

I also will say every wannabe Marine I ever met was gun ho as hell about being one, they all seemed eager as fuck to get on the front lines ASAP.

Detroit: Become Human is an incredible experience and doesn't take that long to go through.

I mean even with the partial vaccination job we have the current US Covid rates are the lowest they have been since late March of 2020 shortly after we first found Covid appearing in the USA.

Even if these people are adamant and won't get it things can still open and as stated if they get Covid from refusing a free vaccine that is their fault mostly.

It's a bit amusing to me that the #1 complaint about Monopoly is how long it takes when people intentionally change rules to make it take longer.

Rules like:

1.) Landing on Free Parking gives you some amount of money.

2.) Everyone must go around the board once for the first ttime without buying anything before you can buy a property.

3.) Refusing to trade properties no matter what meaning getting a monopoly is more luck than anything else.

4.) Ignoring the auction rule that if the person that lands on a property refuses to buy it then you are supposed to auction it off.

You watch the hardcore Monopoly players play this game and you see how much faster this game can be.

Looks like you were lucky as shit because that officer must have been sympathetic. Any one of the four things can happen according to the website depending on the officer and the situation.

I was one time let off for a speeding ticket that would have been well over $200-300 easily, I wouldn't tell everyone "Bro, you can speed all you want the officer won't do shit!" Taking your personal experience as what happens every time you get caught driving with an expired license is not right.

Apparently, an expired license means you have lost all ability to drive. Also, your supposed to update your address information when you move, not when it expires. It must also make your DOB null until you pay more money.

No cop on the planet would let someone off if driving with an expired license. No matter what the reason you are doing so acting, like the cop will just shrug and say no big deal is a fucking joke.

When I was a 16 year old kid I got caught driving without a license only had my permit at the time, and they impounded the car. Their hands were completely tied and by state law they had to impound the car. Now this might not be the case with a expired license, but you can bet your ass a big ticket is the least of the things you will be facing.

The point is expired ones only multiply in numbers and cost nothing to acquire. Obviously this rule was put in for a reason, and it's not just to make people be annoyed. This is basically like someone bitching about a fire truck blocking his parking spot when it's putting out a fire since it inconveniences him.

Well I think the main reason they don't accept expired ID is that you could hand them off to others as invalid forms of acquiring alcohol. Now sure if the picture looks vastly different they might not allow it but this could allow 18 year olds to have an easy source of valid ID's that are expired.

Especially since some don't even bother to look close at the picture they just check the date on the license or ID.

Anyways TC sounds like a real asshole, the guy that is selling you the alcohol is just doing his job. Acting like they are only doing it just to annoy people is about the dumbest thing I have ever heard. At my local grocery store every single time I go through self checkout they check my ID and I am well beyond age 21.

Which is exactly why you don't understand what the fuck I was saying. Chik-Fil-A is a company that actually walks the walk. They close on Sundays -- which costs their business a small fortune -- because they have values and they choose to live those values. Compare that to Coke and Starbucks, companies that have no virtue or values and take insincere stances for marketing. And in the case of Starbucks, they have a lot of reason to pretend to give a shit about BLM because they had a location where a clerk called the cops on a black person who demanded to use the bathroom despite not buying anything and refused to leave when asked, leading to a massive amount of negative PR for the company when the cops roughed him up (iirc on camera) and took him down to the police station.

You have companies who embody virtues, then companies that try to speak to social issues who often very rightly get taken to task for it. If Coke actually believed in its values, it would refuse to sell its product to nations that oppress their citizens and, if it suddenly cares about voting laws, would stop selling in states that it views as having restrictive voter laws. But it doesn't, because Coke doesn't believe in those things. And that was my point.

I'd rather see a company be sincere about an issue with which I disagree than a company pander to an issue I support.

How do you know which is which though? You act like it's very easy to tell when a company is pandering, but I think outside of religion most companies pander to both sides depending.

Shit the board of every company wants to maximize profits in most cases and will do everything in their power to do that no matter what.

I will point out even assembling one good sized army can take hundreds of dollars and in some cases well over $500 to get your foot in the door. Warhammer 40k is definitely something that should not be taken lightly, because unlike other games with a huge requirement to be competitive, Warhammer 40k costs the same no matter what.

I can go get a bunch of cheap MTG cards and play with friends and have fun and the only way to simulate that in Warhammer 40k is use random toys to represent the actual miniatures playing with friends.

I think the problem with most piracy sites is they offer games that are far more popular and are not truly abandonware.

I have never seen a site offering game downloads that are only abandonware. The one exception way back in the early 00's was a PC site that only offered abandoned games I am not sure if that site is still around.

Some sites will even claim they only offer abandonware but then you look on there and you see like Resident Evil older games right on the front page.

The Scott Pilgrim game was also brought back recently in a complete form including all DLC. I am not sure if it's still for sale but it was just a few months ago.

Really the most common abandonware games are ones from companies that are defunct and the games get lost to the sands of time. Many companies that made games back in the 80s and 90s no longer exist in any form.
