Hamilton is such an amazing play for so many reasons. It's an incredible ability to take a history lesson and make it fascinating without even doing so in a purely dramatic tone, while injecting amazing music and making the characters colorful while still mostly fitting their real life, and none of it seems out of place.

It's a very hard albumn to rank, as I've gone through phases where certain songs are stuck in my head, and I just have this itch where I need to listen to that one over and over...and that applies to almost every single song at one point. And not only is it difficult to rank purely from an audio perspective, but if you factor in the story elements of each song, it's even harder, because some events feel like they should weigh more in a ranking. Some introduce or develope a particular character which makes the song feel more enjoyable, especially in the full context of the album. It's just a very hard thing to do.

Someone here already said they liked the first half better, and while I'd agree (I love the second half too though!), I think there is one obvious reason why: the female characters, while maybe not impactful much in the plot, are a super important part musically. I personally prefer their vocals, but regardless of that, they also act as a palate cleanse of sort, to keep the soundtrack mixed up. The single weakest stretch of the albumn is Room Where It Happened all the way to Hurricane. This is a 9 song stretch where you don't have a single non-ensemble female singing in any song, except for a short 15 second part of Eliza during Schuyler Defeated.

I could spend a couple hours if I wanted to write about each song extensive, but that's just a lot of work. Angelica and Eliza are typically the stars of most songs, which my Top 3 makes obvious. King George is hilarious, and while I like the 2 reprises, the first one is still by far the best. Thomas Jefferson is such a troll, and his trolling is at its best during the first Cabinet Battle, which was one of the hypest moments of the play.

No.

On one of the first days of the mask mandates being removed (this was in May), I went out with some friends (all of us vaccinated). Place we went to had a sign that masks were not required for vaccinated people. Probably about 30% of the people were wearing masks. Our group, since vaccinated, were not wearing masks. Someone in our group said, after being inside for about a minute, "wow, it feels nice to not wear a mask anymore", and I, in a very sarcastic and obviously joking voice said, "yeah, but careful, if you don't wear one, people will think you voted for Trump", and she said "Good point" and put her mask on. I thought she did it just to punctuate my joke...but she left it on for the full 1.5 hour we were there...

Honestly, this explains a lot of the Yes votes. But kind of funny.

Agreed. The Night Stalker Netflix doc was a letdown because they try to avoid "glorifying" Ramirez, but the truth is the guy had such a bizarre upbringing, and was such a strange person in general that it could have been a great way to learn about people like him. Instead they focused on the detective angle, which was less interesting.
Have you seen Don't Fuck with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer? It's one of my favorites, because it focuses heavy on the killer. It actually got mixed reviews because the negative ones didn't like how much it talked about the killer. It's such a fascinating story.

Serial Killers/Murders

People lately talk that you shouldn't glorify killers by even acknowledging them at all, but I like seeing what makes a person take that dark path. I think it's an interesting psychological study into what can make man go over the edge and turn their life into an irreversible mess. And there is so much variety in a lot of cases that I don't think it's worth ignoring them.

There are a lot of issues with episodes 8 and 9, though I don't really blame his character for my opinion of those films. He's just a bit too mopey and dull for me to say I like him. He's not bad or anything, and I do like Adam Driver a lot. Kylo Ren is just kind of whatever.

Wet Dry Land was an odd stage. Its gimmick is something that could be cool, or very annoying. I think the stage ended up better than it probably should have been, but it's very understandable how many wouldn't like it. It's also an incredibly ugly looking stage, and always reminded me of some kind of bad early PC graphics demo, even back then, just because of how out of place alot of its elements looked. Still a cool stage, but everything left is cool too.

This isn't necessarily about tinnitus, or maybe it is. But when you are in a totally quiet environment--no electronics that are humming, no air units that are blowing, no nature sounds, no city noises, etc--does the absolute silence have a sound to you? Or perhaps does your mind play a trick on itself where it imagines something to fill the void even if it's not an actual condition?

Does an almost deafening sound fill in the total silence, something that almost sounds overwhelmingly loud, and yet if you barely tap a table, the new noise sounds clear as day and completely removes the loud sound of "silence"?

I guess just asking if you actually hear nothing at all, or if any kind of noise fills in your perception.

1. You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth (Hot Summer Night)
2. Paradise by the Dashboard Light
3. All Revved Up with No Place to Go
4. Bat Out of Hell
5. For Crying Out Loud
6. Two Out of Three Ain't Bad
7. Heaven Can Wait

Meat Loaf is someone I wasn't very familiar with, but always had been meaning to familiarize myself with, so this was a good time for that!

He's a great singer, and I really like the more energetic songs with his vocal style. Not to say his slower songs are bad, in fact they are good too, but they were pretty consistently my least favorite ones. My biggest complaint about the albumn are the extended talkie segments...which ironically landed in my two favorite songs, which was unfortunate, because I'd like them even more without it! You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth felt like the perfect consistency of all the tracks, by not being pure energy nor a slow song; it was just very pleasant the whole time. Paradise by the Dashboard Light meanwhile was the good 'variety' song, where the song is long and changes a lot throughout. So these two stood out the most for different reasons.

There's a few dumb plot points where it becomes too anime...if that makes sense (I'm looking at you Pacificist route final boss fight). And there's a few duller characters, particularly Undyne and someone else who's name I can't remember. But despite all those complaints, it excels so hard at everything else. All of the other characters, even down to small enemies, add so much charm and humor to the story. And seeing how alot of the story changes between the routes make it satisfying or heartbreaking.

As an ebay seller I loathe the best offer option. When I first started selling I used it and it essentially guarantees 2 things. Firstly that you are going to get ridiculous low-ball offers that are a waste of time to read and secondly that you won't get the buy it now price on 95%+ of your auctions as people expect a discount with that option on.
What I like though is that Ebay allows you to set a range for your offers, so that you won't even get notifications at all or ever see them, unless it's in the range that you set. I do that, and sometimes I'll just make my listings higher so that I can accept Best Offers that are a few dollars lower because people love sending Best Offers because they feel like they are getting a deal. And another good benefit is that almost everyone will try a best offer before buying, so you can filter out shitty looking buyers easier by just never accepting their offer. It's also nice too if you have your listings as Free Shipping, and while you probably have your product prices marked up to reflect this, you can choose sellers in closer shipping zones and save money, all while still getting more views since a large chunk of buyers filter by Free Shipping only, despite it not really mattering.

I've been meaning to pick up that NES set. Nice to hear it's your favorite! That'll make buying it even easier!

The Grand Piano one is very cool, I do actually have that one too.

The Colosseum is neat, but I don't think it's one I'll ever buy. I like the Architecture series (though I don't think that one is technically part of it?), but I think that one is a bit too extravagant for me. I'd probably get a smaller version of it if they had one.

I don't have the Assembly Square, but I have a couple of the older modular sets. I can't remember which ones. I know for sure the Grand Emporium and Fire Brigade, and at least 1 or 2 others.

The Typewriter looks pretty cool too, but probably not one I'll get.
