| CyricZ 04/14/21 10:24:21 AM #33 | I can forgive this honestly, and especially after watching Gawr Gura the Vtuber play and stumble through it and getting real frustrated. I said this in another topic, but I feel Super Metroid came in at the tail end of the "fuck you, figure it out" era of gaming where the game (and the manual) not telling you stuff was considered part of the discovery and challenge. I'm quite certain, for example, that the only reason I knew how to get to Kraid's Lair from the Norfair elevator was because Nintendo Power told me. I personally will always see it as a masterpiece and the pinnacle of the capabilities of the SNES, but I was in the right timeframe to appreciate that. And when you get Fusion and Zero Mission with their much tighter and clearly defined controls, I personally felt a little like I was being treated with kid gloves, but accessibility is an important factor in games, and I can't not respect that. Like it's not necessarily so much that there is now a "requirement" that characters be voiced by an exact 1:1 analogue in their voice actor, but that there's input into the character that isn't completely unfamiliar with how a character of a certain ethnicity would be portrayed, particularly in works that are ostensibly set in modern reality. But hey, it would still be nice if you're going to write a minority into your show that you make the effort, particularly for groups that are atypical of getting represented in acting. --- CyricZ He/him |

Eight civs to start with: four of them are British, Chinese, Mongols, and Delhi Sultanate. Mongols can pick up and move their buildings.
