King's endings seem weak because his amazing talent is in creating suspense and atmosphere, and at the conclusion you're ending the suspense so it hits weakly. Oh, and what you do, since you're indoors, is summon lots of shit to choke the battlefield and then kill it from a distance. I wanted to read this a few years ago but my local library doesn't have it. Someone on the book board recommended it. I think they even had the rest of the series, just not the first damn book. Is it worth trying to track down a copy?If you're somebody who reads a lot and can be forgiving when some parts are markedly less good than others, yes.
