Ugh, I paid like $200 for a steak once, it wasn't worth it, but I didn't let my wife know that since it was for my birthday (It was a tommahawk ribeye at some really expensive steak place).

I have paid over 50$ quite a few times for various very high end buffets, but anything over that for just a normal plate of food, seems like a waste to me. Have yet to eat a meal worth over 100$ in taste alone at least.

The problem is they worked 16 years without a problem. And would have worked many more if they didn't change the schedule... It's not the employees that are causing the problem, but the person who thought it was ok to just straight up change her schedule...

True, and I agree, but again, if it was not a person with a disability they would not have been sued. The person would just have been fired.

So while I totally think it's their fault (or at least that manager), the company over all may look at the risk inherent when hiring people with disabilities and avoid it in the future.

Not right, but that is how many companies work.

Meanwhile I'm glad for the girl, she had to work at walmart for 16 years, she deserves a payday.

I was mostly joking, and honestly you CAN'T not hire someone who has a disability if nobody else applies for the job at least, but honestly, corporations would be likely to infer something along these lines if enough cases like this happened and cost them significant amounts of money.

If you hire someone with a disability and even 1% of them sue you for millions (1% more then non-disabled employees that is), it could become not worth the cost to hire them and would make it less likely for them to be hired in the future.

I have a future proof laptop which is easily portable and already has steam and all my games on it. I even bring my xbox 360 controller with me sometimes.

Why would I get a steam deck? Heck you could pretty much buy a gaming laptop at this point for that price (tho mine was $1500 base on sale for $999 when I bought it 4 years ago).

Has 16 gig of ram 4gig GPU and a fast processor, shouldn't have probs running games for another 4 years at least....and then I'll just get another laptop.

Anne Rices Sleeping beauty books were far more hard core, better reads, and around way before. Laurrel K hamilton did tons of that crap (sadly, cause her non-porn books were great) as well etc. 50 Shades just became popular for some crazy reason, even though the sex parts sucked (I liked them for the relationship stuff etc, but skipped the sex scenes usually).

I once wrote a paper on how a student can make more money then their teacher by working at mcdonalds.

Basically you can start working at mc D's at 14, you can become a shift manager while still in high school (25$/hr, already more then teachers back then made), and you qualify for a general manager position after 3 years (but you have to be 18).

General managers make about 60k a year, and you could in theory STILL be in school (senior and 18 years old) and be a general manager though it's not too likely.

As an aside, teachers at the time started at 30k/year (and usually had student loans since in CA you have a year long accredation process and a min of bachelors to be a teacher), and got no raises for 5 years.

So yeah, when teachers were telling students to go to college or work at mc donalds back in the day......it was kinda ironic.

The thing is, it doesn't look like an animal got to it. It looks relatively unharmed. Except the neck may have gone back too far. But it's upside down, but no marks. No blood, either... If it wasn't on it's back, I would probably thought it was sleeping, or stupid... Or just got use to me. The other one took so long to corral today because it wasn't trying to fly away from me...

Maybe it's just depressed because it's sibling died and it doesn't know if it wants to go on. It needs a bird psychologist!!

Sadly many jobs that require college are now paying about the same as Mc Donalds (especially management positions, which you can get quickly).

So people really do have 30-50k in student loan debt and make about the same as a Mc D's employee (possible even some are working there lol.

If god/s are about belief, then the actual existence of god is irrelevant, since the belief in the god itself is what is important and alters the way humanity acts.

So therefore, do you even need to believe in god, to believe in the importance of society believing in a god and following the religion surrounding the god? Your lack of belief in the god, doesn't invalidate the fact that many believe, and alter their actions based on that belief, and therefore, you believing in a "religion" surrounding a god is just far more important than the belief in the god itself.

People get fired/forced to resign for the stupidest things. This was going to far (don't think the teacher should have allowed Hitler to be an option, nor do I even think the assignment was in good taste (having kids pretend to be evil leaders etc and describe their "accomplishments", but having a teacher fired/lose their job over this is silly.

Just reprimand the teacher and say "don't do projects like this again", also why don't these teachers have to put their lesson plans forward first like in the schools I taught. We either A: had to follow the plans that are pre-set, or B: had to give new lesson plans up for inspection before teaching them. We didn't get to just do a "lets pretend to be hitler" lesson plan without getting it ok'd.
