I mean there is an overarching "plot" to Mega Man, and it does exist during the classic series, but it doesn't really become the focus until the X and especially Zero series. Oh also in the classic series, 9, 10 and 11 are all worth playing too. But those were made years later, after X, Zero and even ZX had wrapped up. This seems to be a trap that a lot of slasher movies fall into, I guess because people think you'll like their movie more if you have all the "bad" people die. But no, that's not reality. Because the end result isn't that I like when bad characters die, it's I don't care when bad characters die. If they weren't bringing anything to the movie to make me care about them, why on earth would I care when they die. The movie isn't scary. It's boring. At 90 minutes long, it felt like it had a runtime of 4 hours. And if you're going to bring politics into your shitty teen drama slasher movie, fine, but at least think about how you handle it. Every white character being both stupid and a nazi(this is not hyperbole btw. there are characters that are actual nazis in this movie. I'm not kidding.) is not good writing or clever commentary. But also, the killer murdering nazis didn't make any sense at all. He had no motivation to do that. There was no backstory at all. Nothing to explain why he was killing people he agrees with. They did nothing with that. Literally the only person he wanted to kill doesn't die until the very end of the movie. For no reason. This movie was bad, it was boring, it didn't make any sense, I had no investment in any character or anything that happened. | papercup 10/30/21 10:07:11 AM #4 | So Mega Man X 1 is one of the best games ever made. I'd say anyone who is interested in video games, MMX1 is an essential game. Everyone should play it through at least once. That being said. Only the first like 4 MMX games are any good. After that things get very dire very quickly. The original Mega Man series on the other hand is much more consistent. Sure not every game is a smash hit, but they're all enjoyable in their own ways. I'd say play at least the first 3 Mega Man games, or first 6 if you want the entire original series before X.
