Obviously not that important if they were able to scrap his early concept entirely and relegate him to being an optional recruit.

They only did that to Guile because they wanted to focus on other things such as a huge cast. Guile was meant to have a much much bigger role. Everyone who knows anything about CC knew this.

There's a very marked difference between "I just don't like this popular thing" and militantly insisting that everybody who DOES like it are just stupid, wrong, and bandwagoning.

So are a lot of Pokemon, but people still love those games even if they have no intention of using a Bibarel.

I say this a lot, but most of Cross's cast are just a fun bonus to recruit if you want to go for completion. You still get your cast of core characters that are story-based recruits, but somebody like, say, Skelly is optional for a reason. He doesn't matter, but he's a fun reward for doing a sidequest.

I said this about having a huge cast in my old topic:

Having a huge cast potentially detracted focus on some other characters. For example, Guile was supposed to be Magus but because the game focused on having a huge cast, there was less focus on the exploration of Guile.

Also, a great part of CT's charm was character development and CC blew it hard on bringing back this charm and you can say having a huge cast fucked it up.

CC is a good game with some glaring issues. CT is babies first rpg that anyone can enjoy.

End of the day you're comparing two games that, despite sharing a universe and continuity, are very different from each other in every way.

And it's entirely possible for both games to be good on their own merit, which they are.

Trying to turn it into a binary "one is good, therefore the other is automatically bad" is absolutely stupid.

Chrono Cross is still shit on its own. I made a topic a week ago explaining how dogshit the plot is and no one came to challenge me.

It has some unfulfilled potential, but I'd say it's quite great. The only part where it fails is in its function is as a sequel. It's a dogshit sequel in every aspect.

I can get kinda petty, though. Hopefully she okay with me telling her "I told you your way wasn't gonna work" every now and then.

They're so convinced that their way is the right way regardless of anything so let them have it their way. Sometimes people need to see themselves fail to learn. And if their way is factually a better way of getting things done then hell yeah more power to you. Go run for some council leadership role.

I've brought up this situation a few times on here and I don't think anyone has ever seen it my way, not even a little bit. Every time I bring this up everyone always seemed to completely understand that everyone was a shit head regardless if one character was obviously portrayed to be more sympathetic or relatable.

I LOVE The Prestige but I have one small critique.

IMO, I felt the movie didn't do a good job of saying both Bale and Jackman were both wrong. I didn't like how they initially tried to make Wolverine look like the good guy and then towards the end they made Batman the victim good guy instead. Hated that. If they were aiming to make it that both of them were dickhead bad guys then they should of just stuck with that from beginning.

They spent too much time establishing that Bale was a prick to then pulled a 180 at the very end and act like he's the victim. He was overall the more antagonistic of the two. Jackman's character came off more relatable, modest, humbling and more open minded thus giving the impression that he's the good guy. When Jackman did bad things towards Bale, you understood it as revenge for Bale killing his wife so you didn't think Jackman was a bad guy. He was just getting revenge. It doesn't help that Michael Cane's character was initially on Jackman's side even helping him take extreme measures to help Jackman win, and then Cane's character does a 180 and is all like "OMG Wolverine you are wrong, Batman is the good guy here!". They should of just made them look like bad guys equally from the start. That's just my opinion. Still a great movie.

I was also debating with people on CE in the past about the death of Jackman's wife. They were tryna tell me it was mostly an accident, tryna say Bale was blameless. I got kinda triggered by this because it was absolutely mostly Bale's fault she died. Everyone mainly disagreed on Bale's method of untying the rope while in the water because it was too dangerous and everyone was unfamiliar with it but the idiot tried it anyway during a live fucking show and that's what caused the death of Jackman's wife.
