It means capitalism with the goal of improving people's lives instead of corporate greed as its underlying function. Which, of course, is total antithetical bullshit which makes no sense whatsoever. In a free and open market that rewards profits above all else, there will always be someone willing to pay less, outsource for child/slave labor, use destructive yet more profitable manufacturing methods, etc. and so on. There's no way to do capitalism without it being a race to the bottom, it's just an oxymoron.
Indeed. When considering what Yang means by it, it's important to remember his plan was to scrap(or was it just a choice? That would be less monstrous, to be fair) most current social welfare programs and "replace" them with his UBI plan.

The classic layout doesnt do it many favors either: its *too* compact. There are no mega routes, not many sizable optional areas, and few good dungeons. It pretty obviously suffered from their desire to revisit Kanto(which itself feels way smaller, with the gutting of Mt. Moon and Viridian Forest and straight-up removal of Lavendar Tower, the Game Corners basement, Silph Co., Safari Zone, Seafoam Islands, Cinnibar Mansion, and Unknown Dungeon).
Likeimagine if Cinnabar was converted into a lava cave dungeon full of Fire type mons and Blaines Gym was in there so he could monitor the volcanos stability or whatever.

We need Cumulative Term Limits of 12 years for the House & 12 years for Senate.
The solution to our system being undemocratic is not to make it less democratic. Term limits just restrict voters options while doing nothing to solve the problem: legalized bribery and power as a means to its own end. That would just kick them into unaccountable lobby groups, party positions, think tanks, etc. that their hand-picked stooges would mostly cater to anyway.

I think we can correctly characterize our current political elite as a gerontocracy, not dissimilar from the late Soviet Union. Rather than reaching the height their power at the end of their lives, as was usually the case earlier in the First Republic, or reaching it and then passing the torch after a time to enjoy retirement, our modern political class seems to seek and hold power merely for the sake of it, and most cling to it until death finally parts them from it. There is typically only lip service given to the future.

Its by no mean an iron rule, but it is too true regardless. Older people, in aggregate, are more conservative and less decisive. They belong in government, but not as a super majority of power holders.

Thats a really ridiculously detailed fear. Also it would be hard not to pick up on that. You would just see a different therapist who isnt garbage, because therapy is a really active thing that you need to be engaged with.

The field is geared towards teaching empathy, active listening, and understanding different backgrounds. You really want a therapist focused on whatever is causing you to seek therapy though. Thats why I see a trans dude who only takes trans people as clients, for instance.

Days of Ruin is the only AW game I liked
I enjoyed all of them, but the old style was really showing its age, and the sheer power creep in Dual Strike was pretty insane. It probably hurt Days of Ruin that it dialed the dark and serious tone up to 10 by opening with a literal apocalypse. Serious tonal whiplash between that and AW1-DS. It's a much better balanced game and the campaign is really good though.

Aren't they remastering the first 2? I hope they back-port the improved AI, even if it would make AW1 Hard Mode even more brutal.

If the right people had been in charge of Nixon's funeral, his casket would have been launched into one of those open-sewage canals that empty into the ocean just south of Los Angeles. He was a swine of a man and a jabbering dupe of a president. Nixon was so crooked that he needed servants to help him screw his pants on every morning. Even his funeral was illegal. He was queer in the deepest way. His body should have been burned in a trash bin.

Well, if we're getting down to brass tacks...I already summed up Gen 2 to my satisfaction, but..

Gen 1- You have two starters which have been pretty consistently competitively viable in various ways at high levels(Venusaur and Charizard) and one that's been firmly mediocre(Blastoise). They all have stuff going on design-wise that works, a natural progression, good movepools, and they're all respectable options in-game(though obviously Charmander has a bit of a rough time against Brock. But Butterfree or a Nidoran[from Yellow on] patches that right up).

Gen 3- Competitively, Swampert is the star. Blaziken is broken good(to the point of being banned in some formats), but only with its hidden ability(lol Speed Boost). Sceptile is the "weakest" and it's still pretty good. All will be rock-solid as you journey through Hoenn, and, again: they all have pretty strong movepools, allowing them to fill a variety of roles.

Gen 4- Infernape is the clear star here: it was Blaziken 2.0 until they Blaziken got Speed Boost(just lol). But Torterra and Empoleon are both pretty great designs, and blah blah blah. You know what you're getting in this bunch. The fact that they're all dual-types helps make this gen feel a bit different, and only Torterra really has to watch out(it has a miserable time in the ice area with its 4x weakness).

Gen 5- So, yeah. Sometimes dual-typing isn't the best, like when you make the third Fire/Fighting in a row. A lot of people(myself included) envisioned Tepig going in a more quadrapedal direction, but even given its stale typing, Emboar's execution is lacking: its stat distribution is poor, but at least it has a movepool. Serperior is straight trash without its hidden ability(Contrary) to allow it overcome its bizarre stat distribution and non-existant movepool. And Samurott? They made the wrong starter a quadruped, and Samurott's overly-balanced stat spread results in a relatively boring pokemon. They're all good enough in-game, but Unova is full of much better options, IMO.

Gen 6- I'll be real: I didn't really like Kalos at all. But it's not the fault of the starters. Greninja is the competitive darling, but Chesnaught and Delphox are also nifty pokemon. They're all dual-typed, they all fit obvious roles, they all have good stat distributions. They're all great.

Gen 7- I liked Alola better. The starters are also a strong bunch. Decidueye is a lot weird: going from Flying to Ghost...weird. But it works out fine. Primarina is also an elegant design: growing from a clown to a star. I was hard on Incineroar at first: bipedal fire starters are pretty passe, IMO. But just the nugget that it's specifically a heel wrestler and loves hamming it up for the crowd warmed my cold, dead heart. They're all pretty great.
