Shoot, I forgot about the 3DS game. But Ive never played it so I cant really say. Im going by the main console games.

The 3DS game is okay. But it doesn't beat the mainline games.

My entry is Xenoblade. In my eyes, they're all good, just that X and 2 have some cons that REALLY bug some people.

Odyssey was fun for me but yeah, I preferred the other 3D Mario games to it (except for maybe Sunshine, though that game's not bad if you don't bother to 100% it).

I think a lot of people do. Having a job you actually enjoy is really rare. :/

I feel like at some point you can't convince people otherwise when they're deadset on an idea. TC's deadset on hating Pokemon just because it looks dated, so his confirmation bias sets in when people "praise it just because it's Pokemon and it tries something new."

The graphics don't really bug me as much as lack of stability, but if the framerate drops aren't super frequent or dip into OoT levels, it doesn't undermine what the gameplay itself is like for me. I do still think Pokemon could stand to have better production values though, but it's not enough for me to call a game crap because of it.

Okay that's awesome that Capcom saw this and allowed it. I assume they weren't able to fix some of the lower fps animations and remake the side story FMVs, but this is really cool to see.

^That's really promising. I wonder if the whole "respects the player's time" thing was due to Monolith Soft's influence. Judging from the Xenoblade games (2 is an exception, it was in an awful state at launch) they do a decent job at respecting the player's time.

What mechanic? You mean monster catching and using them to battle? Something that SMT has started way before-hand? Pokemon got popular because it was a young-audience kind of game and wasn't difficult.

I guess maybe they were trying to make Ethan be "you" by putting yourself in his shoes, but that kinda thing doesn't work for me when he's an established character with his own dialogue and choices.

Everything else about the game was great though.

Ending was mindblowing, that's about the only part of the story that truly caught my attention. Seeing everything from 7 come together and even have it be the true origin of how the entire series started was pretty awesome.

On the gameplay side, it was really fun! I loved the Souls/Metroid-esque design of having an entirely interconnected world, being able to open up shortcuts and even be rewarded on exploration by finding significant secret areas. Though thinking about it that's kinda how the classic RE games were, except for the secret areas bit. The doll house was definitely a highlight for me outside of Lady D's castle.

Now I'm just curious what kind of DLC they might be developing, since they confirmed they would be. Maybe a sequel story following Chris and Rose? Then again they may use that for a future game entirely. It's possible they may just make more Mercenaries stuff too.

I will say it got a bit ridiculous with hiding Ethan's face when it came to the end. His head was slumped so low it looked almost unnatural.

Yep, for all the games. After getting all the Korok Seeds in BotW though it's not nearly as bad as I used to think it was.

Yeah, I can see them pulling you around if your order is bigger than other people behind you. But if the lead manager can't see that the drive-thru time is high because of being short-staffed then that's their problem.

On the other hand...being pulled around to the front isn't nearly as much of an inconvenience as TC's making it out to be.

Gotta admit, this game is looking better the more they show it. Story and dialogue is probably gonna be cheesy as fuck and delivered awkwardly, but the gameplay looks awesome.

To other sites that exist outside of GameFAQs. Famitsu, 4Gamer, and Game Watch have all been mostly positive about the game. ResetERA is mostly looking forward to the game even more so after the leaks. /vp/, who is notoriously negative about Pokemon, are having fun with the game.

Before you post next time, try using your search bar. Maybe you'll discover other sites and communities outside of GameFAQs. I'm rooting for you.

I've also seen quite a few glowing reactions on Twitter from people who got it early. Definitely seems to just be a GameFAQs thing.

It's because of Gamefreak. They've been cruising by using underpowered handheld tech so now with a console that is remotely HD they're struggling to have good visuals and make it run competently.

Might want to check out other Switch games before agreeing with someone who claims the console can't do any better.

It's a shame about Xenoblade 2's presentation because when it gets serious it absolutely delves into serious topics like mental health, depression, the real consequences of war, racism, prostitution, etc. It's why I love the game so much and think it's ultimately stronger in some aspects than the first game. But it's got some really ass character design for some characters and first presents itself as a lighthearted, trope-filled anime-styled game. By Chapter 5 it starts feeling more like your typical Xeno-style flair.

Maybe not great, but promising. Heard from one person that it seems like they tried a lot of new ideas to see which ones stick or not. Some do, some don't, but at least it's experimental for Pokemon. Just something they should've been doing like 20 years ago.

Also filling up the Pokedex is gonna be a huge grind thanks to needing to find materials to craft Pokeballs, and you need to catch a Pokemon multiple times to get their full Pokedex entry.

Honestly making him out to be an unstoppable threat was the right thing to do in that situation.

Also that 60GB stuff is without them compressing. Nintendo compresses the hell out of their games without any noticeable quality dip.

Yeah, I thought I would hate it but it wasn't that bad. I enjoyed it more than RE5 if only because they fully embraced the action by updating the gameplay accordingly. Not as painful to play solo either.
