Car wreck when I was 9. I remember seeing the van swerve into our lane, the impact flung me forward so hard. I looked up and saw my mom bloody and unconscious. Dad was driving and he just got out took a seat next to the road. I looked at my brother who was next to me and saw an absolutely massive knot on his head. I literally thought his brain was falling out and I was stuck next to his corpse. My one cousin was with us and it cracked her hip so she was screaming and then she saw my brother and started just freaking out.

People gathered around and pulled us from the wreckage. I went and sat with my brother, thinking that I'd just become an only child. They medflighted him to a trauma center somewhere. He woke up on the way, but was blind for most of the day until brain swelling went down.

One ambulance took my dad and cousin, one took my mom, and I got left behind. A cop came over and scolded me to get out of the way and go back to my parents. I told him the ambulance took them. He called them back and I had to climb in on my own as the emt's seemed angry at me. It turned out that I ended up being the worst injured one of all of us.

Just remembering seeing my brother in that condition is messing me up now and it's been nearly 30 years.

Edit: The emt's told the hospital not to treat me as I wasn't hurt. I guess they thought I wasn't involved or something. That decision nearly killed me a couple days later. It was the worst week if my life in constant unbearable pain.

Met the local radio host once, so I guess that counts as a celebrity. Not a big one, but everyone here knows who he is.

Yeah, a little over a year ago.

I had it December 2020, no one warned me of the body aches. Those were by far the worst part. I never had any issues breathing until I'd go outside and the cold air literally took my breath away.

Currently at Walmart, about to head to work. It dumped a couple of inches on us this morning. It's mostly gone already though.

When I tried therapy several years back, this was part of what I discussed with him. He was woefully unequipped to help though.

Yesterday at work there was a guy with a gun threatening people at the hotel next door. I was told by my manager to lock the place down. But also told me to unlock the door for anyone that shows up... So, what's the point of locking it then? To make me open the door for him? So stupid.

As part of my physical therapy as a kid after a serious injury. Perhaps it was simply a back specialist that my parents refered to as a chiropractor though.

So my shift just started, and my coworker runs in and tells me to shut and lock the doors. That the hotel next door just had a guy with a semi automatic rifle threaten to shoot the place up.

A few minutes later my manager calls and I ask what I'm supposed to do about the guest's being locked out. And I was told if anyone pulls up to go unlock the door and let them in... Then what's the point of locking it then? Now, instead of being safely locked behind the counter I'm supposed to go get the door for any potential gunman? Then, I'm supposed to lock it back once they're inside, which effectively prevents any quick escape for me or other guests that may be here.

Cops are patrolling all the close parking lots now.

That's how I feel. Shouldn't you know you're missing out on something? Shouldn't I be depressed or angry, or anything, if I feel I'm being held back from satisfying my desires? They don't even exist for me.

I guess that's where we differ. I wish I didn't have a sex drive. It sucks being biologically driven to have something you can't get. I want to be a father one day, and a husband, but I'm incapable of attaining those goals.

It does make me angry, and depressed, and I absolutely feel like I'm missing out on the life I want.

I'm not saying you have it any better, just feeling this way causes me so much stress. I'd just rather turn it off entirely and not deal with it all.

I haven't either. I see attractive people of both sexes, and that's it, they look nice.

I don't think I'm asexual, as I still have a sex drive. It just doesn't seem to activate with anyone. Porn works, but it's not because of the people, it's what they're doing.

My old therapist said it was due to very poor self esteem, and depression. That doesn't make sense to me, as the attraction should still be there, shouldn't it? If I see an attractive person I feel nothing for them except envy.

I have developed attraction towards people over time. I wouldn't call it sexual attraction though, but being exposed to people who are kind to me and seem to like me makes me want to spend time with them(which is extremely unusual lol). I guess that's probably just a normal emotional attachment forming, but it makes me want more from them. It's never been developed beyond that point though, so I really don't know.

I've seen this described as demisexual before, only becoming attracted to people after forming an emotional bind, and that fits. I just don't know if it's actual attraction or a regular healthy friendship and I'm just unfamiliar with that... It's just stressful and confusing overall.

My great grandpa was supposedly a native American. I'm sure most America born people hear they some a distant native relative too.

I'm just on the VA side of the WVA border.

Clint Eastwood is the first that I thought of. Wikipedia says he's 91. I guess he's not exactly actively doing much to stay relevant though.

Oh, I forgot about this. I've had that a few times. It was demons and aliens approaching my bed usually.

Yeah. A few years back my doctor and therapist had me on some medication. The one made me gain a lot of weight in just a month, so they put me on a new one.

Well... That one was awful. Could not relax or sit still for even 30 seconds. It just put me on edge and I had to be moving. After 3-4 full days and nights of no rest I started seeing things. I'd see shadow people just at the edge of my vision. Like, there was literally just a black figure there until you look. I knew what was going on at that point and that my mind was slipping.

Thankfully my doctor understood and a nice hefty Xanax prescription fixed it.

I already raised my 2 cousins from when I was 16. I'm not against adoption, just I want my own now.

Man, I want to be an uncle so bad. My brother and his wife won't have any though. Not like I'd see them anyway, but I want that.

You don't do that. You use that as an excuse to brag about your own life while simply dismissing or insulting those who haven't found success. There's no empathy or understanding from you, it's all just to boost your own ego rather than actually help anyone else. That makes you not only unhelpful, but actively harmful to those you claim to want to help.
