Splatoon is a good example of a game I enjoy playing for the objective until it gets too hard. Then I just play for goofs.

I'd say Mario Kart is an example where it can become frustrating to play in a lobby full of those who made MK their life. Chess.

I have a job, I got my degree, got Becker, just need to stop being lazy and hit the books.

I wish there was a way to do this quickly and efficiently, but based on what I'm reading, it's best to just suck it up and do the 100 hours of studying for each section (more for FAR). Going to do tax first to get it out of the way and then audit as that would help me with my current job, at least with refreshing my knowledge of terms that may have been forgotten. It will be perfect timing as busy season will be going on by the time I get to that. My hope is 8 hours of studying during the workweek and 16 hours per weekend. Should be able to take the first exam sometime in early-mid December if I'm not lazy. Cycle will then repeat.

What makes Superstars better than Super Mario Party?

I'm a VERY casual Party fan, so I have hardly any clue what even sets them apart lol, but I've heard loads of positivity for Superstars.
5 vs 4 boards. Can actually use a controller rather than being forced to do one joycon. It has the benefit of just getting to select the best of the best from 10 Mario Party games so naturally it's mini-game selection will be better. Boards feel like they have more oomph to them. Most of all, I think people are just happy to see the classic formula brought back since Mario Party 8 was the last one to use this style of 1-10 dice, boards of this style brought back, duel games, Bowser games, etc.

I like Super Mario Party, but that's a game you get burnt out fast from since it's selection of mini-games is meh and there's only 3 boards worth playing (most people agree Kamek land is garbage).

Yes you can. The one joycon problem of Super Mario Party is not a thing, which is also an improvement.

Let me put it this way: did you enjoy the boards from Mario Party 1-3? Do you enjoy Mario Party minigames from 1-10 (with an emphasis on 1-3 I hear as well)? Do you like pure button-control minigames (no gimmicks involved)? If your answer was yes to those questions, then you have your answer if this game is worth getting. 100 minigames is a lot (Super Mario Party may have had more technically, idk how much it boasted. They included rhythm and team games, though, so in reality, actually party mode had a lot less).

Just got it, and did one game yesterday. Had a blast! Super Mario Party was a good step for what the future could hold (character dice, allies, etc.), but boy does it feel good to play a Mario Party that had a formula we haven't seen since Mario Party 8 (and in my case, the last time I really cared for the formula was 7).

If you had to ask me, I think we need bigger boards like what this Party gave us, allies, dice that amount to more than just numbers (as Super's big weakness with character-specific blocks is that some characters were boring to play due to how lame their dice were), a return to duel and Bowser minigames along with a story mode and a side-mode like Bowser's Party (as much junk as the car mechanic was, MP10 showed a good use of it with Bowser Party. That was all I played, and it so few boards and minigames; imagine a version of that, that was more fleshed out!)

I don't really consider Superstars MP12 since it's more of a remix (albeit, a really well-made remix), but when MP12 comes out, it just needs to take the good from 1-8, some ideas Super gave, and even some from 9-10 (again, basically Bowser Party) and it'll be gold.

Idk, I feel like it'd be the other way if anything. Think of if you ever played Punch Out; it's basically a puzzle game once you get to the hard fights. Losing becomes a necessary part as you take the first match (or in my case, many many matches) to learn the opponent's cues, moves, timing, etc. and once you learn that, you finally conquer them.

Who wins?

I know many of you will probably ignore topic title and say Little Mac because he beat DK who can split a moon in half, yada yada yada. I think it'd be more interesting if the fight is Little Mac where his feats are more "realistic" in that the ultimate foe was Mike Tyson, who, as incredible of a boxer as he is, still is only human and not subject to the ridiculous video-game power-creep that is bound to happen over time. Perhaps unfair, but this also includes prime Rocky, who is inarguably Rocky IV Rocky since that's when he beat someone that was starting to feel more superhuman than just great boxer.

Rocky has that extreme durability in that he can take blows to the face and keep on punching through. He also has the ability to draw on extra energy when it seems he's down for the count. A very versatile fighter, he seems to be able to take on many different training regimens and fighting styles to attack the opponent in a way that gives him the greatest advantage.

Little Mac, on the other hand, has the biggest strength of boxing IQ. Perhaps he's at a bit of a disadvantage against many fighters that are bigger and stronger than him at the start, but he's able to figure out the patterns that those he fights employ, and use that to become unhittable and strike them at their weakest moments. He also has a devastating star punch. On the other hand, he is prone to running out of stamina quickly if he's not careful.

Alright, who do you think wins the fight?

They sent me, their brand new associate, to audit the count of a new client, and boy did things feel wrong. Production was not halted for their main inventory items (tanks full of chemicals), which means I had to find what the cost of the production difference would be between their report of what levels were at, at 7 am and what my report said at 11:11. That was whatever I guess, although they told me they would use the 7 am number as that was their closing numbers for the month and that's how they've always done it (again, this is their first time getting audited by the company I work for). Their accountant gave me the unit rate cost per KG of each tank's chemicals, and I recorded my numbers and got whatever other documentation I needed and left. They sent me their final inventory listing (which by the way, does not include another section of inventory I counted beyond the tanks), and suddenly the numbers don't match their 7 am or my 11:11 am numbers in both levels or unit rate.

I am not looking forward to the discussion I'm going to have with my senior on this. I know regardless, I'm probably taking the heat for this one. To be fair to him, he didn't want a new guy to do the audit, but somehow, I was the only available associate to do this specific one. I just hope he's understanding.

Was the city considered as dangerous back then? I really don't know if it's just something that was average and turned worse, or if it's always somehow been St. Louis' brother that St. Louis is even ashamed of.

Also, everything was fine; not that bad of a drive since I was in the warehouse, and nothing was too dangerous there. The job itself...ehhhhhhh. It was quick, but I'm also pretty afraid that the testing was messed up by me due to a bunch of unforeseen circumstances that even my senior was shocked by.

Confused? Whats there to be confused about? Are you confused on whether you need to wear clothes in public? Wear a mask or dont go outside. Its not hard. For that to be confusing youd have to be a special kind of stupid
Very few businesses would allow you to come inside naked. Many businesses are not enforcing mask mandates at all, even in the most strict of states as there's not a way to ensure it's being followed.

Very few people get assaulted for wearing clothes. There are many stories of people getting assaulted for wearing masks.

In my county alone, there was a pause on the mask mandates, and then it was reinstated, and then it might have been paused again, yet no one knows because there has been many arguments about it internally.

Family pressures, peer-pressures, misinformation by the news; believe it or not, not everyone lives in your internet bubble you have created for yourself. I, myself, am not confused; I will bring a mask since I will not assume otherwise. Many people do not get appropriate forms of communication/information directed to them, and are indeed confused due to the nature of how the mask mandates were handled. If TC provided them a mask, and they went to a store or another public place for instance, perhaps they would actually have gone in with the mask. Now, they'll probably find another driver as I doubt every driver is enforcing the policy, and go to that place without a mask. Our battle is not to ignore those who aren't getting vaccinated or wearing masks; it's to educate those who are confused about the situation. Obviously, many are still confused otherwise this would not have happened.

I know they should wear a mask... but it doesn't cost much to have spare masks. In a world where people are confused about the rules of masks, I'd say you're the equivalent of someone who leaves a shopping cart out in the open because you're too lazy to put it back to the cart area.

Again, people are extremely confused about mask policies; they're getting a variety of information related to vaccines and masks and two, a lot of places that "enforce it" don't enforce it in practice. You're well within your right to enforce the rules, and I was with you in this story... until you said you're going out of you way to be petty about it.

TopicCPA/Accounting General Thread: Public/Private, Tax/Audit, etc.
PiOverlord
10/24/21 3:15:26 AM
#1
This is a thread designed for all things accounting I guess. Whether you're an accountant in the public or private sector, working for a public accounting firm or otherwise, or just someone studying accounting or interested in it.

I just recently started my job as an Auditor for a big 4 firm. I still need to take the CPA exams, and find studying hard to do (not because of the job, but because I'm lazy). I guess it's a little intimidating knowing that I can't just study like normal, and even if I do well on one test, there's three others to worry about. I'll get it done, though, just gotta stop being a baby.

I was in my "protected" training week when I got assigned a PIO this last Friday; this was only 3 days after I did the PIO training, lol. I hope it went well; the count itself wasn't too bad. It was budgeted for 8 hours (7 hours of counting, 1 for documentation), but I went overbudget due to a delay on the client's part. Got there at 9 (when I was scheduled to arrive), but didn't get on the floor to actually start the count until 11:30, so that was 2 and a half hours of waiting. I'm more worried about my actual documentation, if I did it right, than the count itself. Hope I filled out everything I was supposed to, and that I didn't miss any information while I was there that was necessary for it (I basically based my count around the PY workpapers, which didn't include the information that I left blank as I assume it was just a leftover that all templates have and doesn't apply to this specific count). Was able to obtain all the documentation that my firm wants as well other than the post-cutoff for obvious reasons (got the pre-cutoff, pre-count inventory listing, instructions, count sheets, tag log, tag list, final variance report), so at least I did that part right!

As for errors in their count, there was one instance where my count did not align with theirs. It was only off by one (I counted 50 while the company counted 49), and it was resolved and included in their final variance report/tag listing. When I spoke to my seniors about it, it didn't warrant additional samples, thankfully, and that was that.

The client seemed happy with their variance report, said it was their best year yet (the amount they would have to write-down their inventory was significantly lower than years' past), so I'm happy to get to see a happy ending there. Not related at all to my tests, but thought it'd be nice to share. Already scheduled for another one on the 5th, so I'm just reflecting on what I could have done better. I do feel a lot more confident about future PIO's; I think I'll be able to do them quite well, especially when I find out if there was anything I missed from this first one, so I know what to generally look for in future counts.

This was my first audit-activity (it was strange to be referred to as "The Auditor" by the clients), so I just was excited about it. Hopefully, my actual engagements and RTM coaching goes well (I didn't expect to be thrust into a coaching/review role immediately as a newbie since a lot of what new associates do nowadays is coach the off-shore audit teams).

Can someone confirm this? I hear calling soccer "soccer" was a leftover tradition by the British. We only look bad because the British were calling it soccer and it was just something that stuck with our culture.

They have to prevail. We can't let the evil corporate Atlanta Braves win. The Astros must pay for their crimes!

When it comes to smugness and success, I'd say if you're going to be smug (in a bad way), you better have something to backup being smug.

Perhaps you should organize it. I'm sure some would be keen to joining it.

I have some bad news guys. This is going to have to be delayed one week. I was assigned to audit an inventory count. This is a little unexpected because I'm supposed to have protected time for training, but whatever; if work says to do it, then I'll do it.

Good luck! Do you have a time frame for how long you plan on not eating fast food?

Plan for today

That's a pretty sick ratio. Protein is a big chunk of your planned daily intake. I'm guessing your working on building muscle?

As for today, I had spaghetti and ice cream. My estimate for the total is 992, but I think I overestimated the spaghetti calories a bit.

It definitely is not. Not being 100% left-leaning isn't equivalent to majority right-leaning.
