So from a post just above yours, it sounds like the reasoning is because insurance do that - so they set the upfront price higher, such that what insurance actually pay, is about on par with what the hospital actually want to charge. I've also heard anecdotally that usually if you're paying cash and ask, they'll cut the bill to a similar point to what insurers end up paying.
Metabolic panel member cost was like $8 from OP, but if you were to order it yourself (cash price), its $155:

Labwork Details:

Labwork:
How does $752.42 charged go down to $65.43 because of insurance (91% off!), then insurance only pays $7.50, so that I have to pay the remainder?

Doctor:

Similar story with the doctor; how is it that they charged $600.01, but that goes down to $380.66, which is fully covered?

Insurance is such a bullshit game.

It's a specific place in my head, towards the back right, and it randomly feels tingly, at a rate of once every hour or so. If it happens while I'm walking/standing, I feel vertigo / feel like the room is shaking; I can power through this if I really want to.

I figured this was due to stress over the past couple weeks (due to high priority projects at work), but the projects concluded on Tuesday (when this started happening), and I took the rest of the week off to "recover". However, 3 days later, it's still happening.

Time to schedule a doc appointment for this, or just keep waiting to see if it clears out?

MC_BatCommander posted...
Why are they just firing at random people from an unmarked van? What the fuck did they expect to happen
This was in Minneapolis during the protests/riots/lootings after the murder of George Floyd. The police department's plan was for the "lightly marked" van (has police lights under the mirrors that were supposed to be on) filled with SWAT to drive in line with marked police cars with normal officers, and for the SWAT team to basically act when needed. The article (that was posted a few posts ago) shows that the officer in charge ordered the police cars to stay far back, and drive in a V flanking formation instead.

HotLap posted...
Dude was already lying on the ground and being cooperative when he was kicked and punched multiple times for no fucking reason.
The officers explained that the gun was still within his reach, that they were just shot at and were scared, that they had days of 12+ hour shifts watching their city get burned down (emotional distress), and that they were fearful that he could reach for a hidden weapon and fire back, so they were trying to keep him down.
