Are you talking about the Uyghurs and China?

Yes.

They had no idea who they were, and didn't give a single fuck - and still don't.

Suddenly they were told about the Uyghur people and how terribly they were being oppressed but for one purpose alone, and that was to drum up anti-Chinese sentiment in America.

So these right wingers were going around scoffing in disbelief about how the left were blind to the plight of these people, so you better join us in being anti-Chinese! Meanwhile on the left we're like... dude, you care about imperialism, apartheid, and genocide now - here's a list of them no one will talk about on corporate news you can help me protest. However the right wing had no interest in doing anything for any of these groups and never cared.

That's what your post was like.

Because they learned about settler colonialism and Noam chomsky 5 months ago so now everything is colonialism and occupation.

This is the right wing and the Uiygur(sp?) situation all over again... the right wing were utterly ignorant to the apartheid conditions in Gaza, so in their inflated sense of ego and entitlement from being American exceptionalists and white supremacists - they can only fathom that others only learned about these things since the October 7th Hamas attacks...

  • The irony being that the right wing learned that these are even issues that could potentially exist because of the publicity and protests created from the American left in the first place.... otherwise they would have been exposed to literally zero voices calling out the genocide of Palestinians. No one else in media or power would have stood up and said anything, they never do.

I think most conservatives support the literal genocide of Palestinians or don't care either way. Some only care about Israel to the extend it ties into Christian biblical prophecy.

That ire should go to Ms. Porter for running a mess of a campaign and making no friends.

She lost most Black voters in California with her disrespect towards Maxine Waters. Despite what people say online, a lot of CA voters were already wary of her due to Dianne Feinstein's circumstances.

The fact Porter lost her own district is telling.

Yeah, never challenge the party establishment, do as your told and fall in line regardless of the moral and ethical position.

People on the left have to actually use language with care. We are held to account.

On the right you can just say whatever bombastic lie that will get the base riled up and angry and never face consequences. In fact, you are rewarded for being more absurd and irrational and punished for using reason and facts.

This "debate" is incredibly dumb since it's all subjective.

I don't mind a little charring... that's part of the flavor of the meat and preparation.
I find uncooked and under-cooked meat gross and in taste and texture...

Some people feel the exact opposite and we are both right.

I kinda let Trials of Mana slip under my radar... I like the art style, how is the game?

Is it super linear story based and characters follow a strict level up with static party composition, or do you have some agency and freedom to form your party and pick skills and stats that matter?

I am so over this idea of the sanctity of steak.

I like steak, I don't get excited and cream at the thought of a steak dinner, but I enjoy it.

I also think blood and pink meat is disgusting. Cook that shit. Don't burn it or anything... but it's just a cut of meat. Cook it and eat it how you want.

It's our campaign system and capitalism run amok.

We used to have anti-trust laws in this country...well we still do but we pretend we don't and never enforce them.

Then on top of that we have a pay-to-play campaign system where these monolithic entities can lobby congress for a fraction of what they stand to gain from being allowed to operate as a greedy monopoly.

ECW and its hardcore matches shortened the careers and even the lives of some of the wrestlers.

Apply that to any promotion... WWE started adopting hardcore style matches to stifle the growing competition from places like ECW during the attitude era.

WWE did dangerous spectacle before that, and you might say the ECW brand of dangerous stunt relied more on the talents of the performers than on pyrotechnics or mechanical setups with harnesses and long falls that will likely injure people from malfunction at some point.

i don't know if you realize this, but the median voter is not pro-palestine. the median voter supports israel and is still in love with israel, even after the last six months of israel shooting white-flag-wavers in the head and blowing the legs off little children.

I don't think so... not to this extent.

I think the average voter has been convinced that anything Arab sounding is scary and coming to their podunk little town to terrorism them and their kids - and they have no knowledge of the persistent apartheid conditions in Gaza.

The evening news are still owned by either right wing cranks that fluctuate between anti-semitism for their white nationalist audience, and Zionism for their fundamentalist audience, while centrist corporate media outlets like MSNBC still want their parent and sister companies to sell more weapons to places like Israel to keep the bloodshed going.

I don't think many really care about Israel at all, they have been frightened into thinking Israel is "fighting them over there so we don't fight them here" - which is an outdated mantra we used to justify the failed Iraq War.

TopicWhy are people bothered by there not being an afterlife?

The problem with an afterlife is that it makes life here on Earth meaningless. You're telling me there is a perfect paradise outside of this reality? Why can't I just start there from the beginning? Why put a carrot in front of me?

How else will those political church leaders get you to conform to their behaviors and follow their laws for better and worse unless they can manipulate you through fear?

Fear of the eternal human torture and suffering dimension, or fear of losing a utopian afterlife. Then they made up Pascal's Wager to convince the budding anti-religious attitudes of the enlightenment to keep pretending anyway and fool good into not torturing you for eternity for the finite crimes of your earthly existence.

Come on TC, it's obvious. Let me use this classic analogy:

If you turned 18, and were never promised a big fat trust fund check for a million dollars, and as follows you don't get the million dollar check - so what?

Now... if you were promised a million dollar trust fund check when you turn 18, and then you don't get it, and you were planning your finances around that, you would be pretty angry and scared to learn it was all made up, wouldn't you?

He's right actually.

The prime corporate design aesthetic of "Fruitiger Aero" from the 2000-2012-ish era was known for it's bright blues and greens, reflective surfaces, bubbles, bevels, and natural imagery of green fields, blue oceans, cloudy skies, and fish.

The current aesthetic of the last several years is to flatten, clean up, and remove gradients, highlights, reflections, and other effects from text, logos, and websites.

Not gonna quote you, but very hard disagree that Dragon's Dogma does weak spots on enemies better than Monster Hunter. Monster Hunter is a lot better in that regard, and much less clunky.

Monster Hunter from now in 2024 or Monster Hunter in 2013 or when DD came out?

I think there's a good argument to make DD did it better at the time... and it's probably gone on to help Capcom improve MH.

Sounds like you have a manager that's into you - enjoy the more humane workload and the perks of not having an over-stressed manager feel they need to periodically scold employees to get some arbitrary numbers up.

If things go shitty and you are given the usual fast food employee workload, you can always quit.
