Oh, another thing. I always imagined Dave with a pretty monotone voice - or, at least, definitely the lower energy one between him and John. Though, I do like this Dave too. Of the four kids, John feels the most off, but he kinda has the toughest tone to hit, especially since his Act 1 self is pretty different from the rest of his characterization.

Fun pilot! I like the pacing a lot, actually. I imagine a lot can be sped up just due to the nature of showing multiple plot threads running side-by-side and how they handle chat logs.

Damn, 4 #1 drops already! Lauryn Hill would have been an easy #20-15 in most cycles so I was shocked to have set it at #24.

There were other dub-only openings that got votes, but Pokemon Theme definitely did the best out of them. It did not make it into the Rushmore but it likely had a high chance if that rule was removed.

1. Lonely Rolling Star - Katamari Damacy is a good soundtrack but Lonely Rolling Star is legitimately a good song.
2. Katamari on the Rocks - Still my favorite of the Katamari main themes. Im a bit surprised how restrained it is other than the main chorus despite its overall bombastic tone.
3. Roll Me In - I absolutely love the vibe of this song between the instruments and the vocalist. I havent played this in a long time and I instantly remembered that chorus.

6. The Na-na Song - My favorite of the main leitmotif, sometimes even more than On The Rocks. Strikes a great balance between chill and interesting.

We dont typically do soundtracks, so this was a fun one to do. Its short and varied but its hard to tell overlook the several songs whose main purpose is the leitmotif. I love leitmotifs and Katamari is a particularly great one. But it does make it hard to rate for a project like this.

Of Montreal is a fun band that sits right in the middle of my pop-friendly, upbeat, and slightly experimental venn diagrams. This is a concept album where the sound really flows well. Im also just not used to more modern pop concept albums. I loved it on my first listen.

If we didn't have a tiebreaker today, I would ask if the Pokemon theme song from the dub should count among the Rushmore. Even with an explicit rule, it still got enough votes to tie for #5 and would have a pretty strong argument for at least beating We Are with 4 more votes.

Also, Rome was awesome! Despite being a history major in college, I only started to read Roman history this year and only once I learned I was going there. I'm glad I did. That city is awesome for history nerds. My favorite tour was probably the Catacombs.
