Incredibly close fight for the last spot. Arcane and Fallout looked like clear frontrunners, but Carmen Sandiego picked up speed about midway through the topic. In the end, we got three animated and one live-action.

It was pretty good! I enjoyed all the nods to a typical campaign and I especially appreciate that its all done entirely in-universe with no cheeky nods to real life.

Absolutely wild result. DBZ and Pokemon easily surged ahead and Naruto comfortably got a third spot. During my original counting, I had a tie between Cowboy Bebop and Demon Slayer. However, someone used the Japanese titles for Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer respectively, barely nudging Demon Slayer to the 4th spot.

Lots of discussion on what exactly constitutes as "baby's first anime" with most regarding it as gateway anime, which then spawned its own discussion of what gateway anime means and would it be best to do the most common generation exposed to anime, current gateway anime, or gateway anime of all time. I'm not usually a big fan of the more memetic titles, but this could have really been spun in a lot of ways.

Played Pixel Remaster. Im glad it changed the remakes tendencies to make it more like the other FFs, which makes this FF even more plain than it already is. I like the NES weirdness. However, it still doesnt do enough and, even with the NES weirdness all in, it still doesnt feel that fun.

Ill defend 2-2 on the Water Rushmore. Its the first major game to establish swimming mechanics as something distinct from regular gaming mechanics. The music is arguably the origin of most water or space VG music in general.

If I split out Death Mountain from its vote, we get 4 for Death Mountain OOT, 1 for Death Mountain LTTP, and 2 for Death Mountain generalized. I think that adds up for a Death Mountain win.

Precipice

Im fine with nominating a whole game! This one is definitely trickier to do, though. Its not as clear cut as the others.

I was hoping CU-P5s actions would reveal any new info, but I suppose not.

This is a bit tricky to do where the group should act as one but were choosing actions for everyone. Flipping Raven or panicking Darius feels like valid options, but doing both feels a bitodd.

GTA did, in fact, miss a spot due to vote splitting. Midgar was the only lock and Liberty City and Vice City were both solid candidates on their own right.

Pallet Town got some discussion for being a popular vote candidate (especially in the first few posts) and some feeling it's not impressive. I do like the idea of the "starting town" but I dunno. Are starting towns really ever notable unless they end up being the major city of the game?
