Ouch. Sorry to hear that.All good.. The damage couldve been much worse. By the time it went through us it had weakened and was probably EF2/3, and we were not in the direct center which helped. The roof held up and just needed to be repaired, a broken window had to be repaired, and we had flooding in the basement. And a couple trees in the back fell. Pretty lucky though as the trees missed the house and power lines. The worst was the power being out for over a week and a half, but insurance covered Airbnb stays which was good. The insurance basically went through and just cut checks for homes that were in the path. Its crazy though, our house escaped major damage but the one right across the street had to be gutted and rebuilt due to a tree falling on it. The worst thing was just the fact it happened so late. With the power out and it being pitch black out we had no idea the extent of the damage until the next morning, when I was going to leave the house and was like well, downed trees are blocking the whole road, so never mind I guess. --- "Creed made better Pearl Jam music than Pearl Jam did" - shockthemonkey |

| CE_gonna_CE 06/26/24 3:01:19 PM #17 | I was just out there a couple months ago, had a blast. I stayed a couple days off strip at Ellis Island, then was at Palazzo on my companys dime.
Travel cost was not a concern for me, so I used taxis and Ubers frequently. The taxi system is very good and efficient, and cost-wise is quite comparable to Uber, but its definitely more than trying to just do buses. Someone mentioned no good food right by the Convention Center, but cant say I agree with that with Tacos el Gordo right there. I had seen folks on Reddit recommending the hell out of it, and even one of my Uber drivers did, and its legit. Great Mexican food for a very affordable price. I also did Omega Mart from the recommendation of folks here actually and really enjoyed that, but thats definitely not walkable and $50 just to get in.
