Not a fan of watches. I couldn't see much point in a non-smart one these days outside of the whole "look at my expensive watch, I am so rich and cool" angle.

I'd be making it my main PC, using it docked for desktop uses. So to me, I'm only "paying for a handheld" whatever it costs above a comparable laptop. Which isn't TOO much. (Yes. This is completely practical; I was doing the same with the Ayaneo.)

That might mean it ends up hitting about $1800 NZ (prices here usually end up being a bit higher than a direct currency conversion would suggest). That's well within what I'd be happy to pay for it. Bring on release!

No one else was anywhere close to having a nuke at that point. The closest - the Soviet Union - was still about four years away, and it would likely have taken them longer under wartime conditions. And they weren't an enemy in WW2 anyway.

For that matter, the US's supply was fairly limited too. They estimated they'd be able to make three nukes a month on average for the foreseeable future at that point. That's more "swap a few conventional raids for nuclear ones" material than "nuclear war" material.

Not to mention, not that many targets worth raiding were left at that point. The remaining ones from the original target list of course (Kokura and Niigata) and they wouldn't be completely out of targets at that point, but yeah, Japan was pretty bombed up already by then. Hiroshima, Kokura and Niigata had specifically been left alone so they'd have a pristine target to nuke (Nagasaki had not received the same treatment, but had only suffered relatively light bombing).

Of course it is.

It's a legit technology with real world applications, but it's early. There was a bit of a craze over it; it'll still come out of this bigger than it went in, it'll just stop being a craze and start being another one of those mysterious things the ultra-nerds from tech companies are making and using.

It's an indie platformer heavily inspired by Wario Land. The art style somehow manages to be both bad and (unironic) amazing at the same time, especially when animating rather than still shots.

Some people can. Most people can at least give a general sense of how long. Any information is helpful to them; the more accurate the better but even "fuzzy" info is better than nothing.

I started my current job when I was 30. One of the students working there part time asked me what school I go to. I still get ID'd sometimes (usual policy here is ID if you look under 25; legal age for all restricted products is 18 at the highest) when buying vapes or alcohol too.

What's kinda funny is that around that time, if I asked people how old I looked, most common answer was 19. Which was also the most common answer I got to the same question when I was 12.

SD requires knowing how to write good prompts for it, but yeah, it can do better results, not to mention you can run it offline for uncensored output.

Dall-E is MUCH better at interpreting natural language prompts.

But the absolute best is cheesy garlic stuffed crust. One of the few things Pizza Hut beats Dominos on here, they had that base long before Dominos did. (The only other thing that comes to mind PH did better was cheesy garlic bread, until they stopped making it.)

No. What it took was it being clear they had no allies left and insufficient capacity to keep fighting. The nukes were completely unnecessary. Nazi Germany was even worse and we stopped them without nukes.

Israel is pretty close to having no allies left either.

fr tho my biggest problem w/ my Ally wasn't the abysmal battery life, it was just that it felt like cheap shit and Windows sucks ass as a handheld gaming OS even when it works as intended.

just get an OLED steam deck imo. the battery will still be better, the performance difference is hair splitting, and the OLED screen is sooooo much nicer than the extra 30hz. and you don't have to deal with windows.

I specifically want Windows (or possibly, a normal Linux distro) as my OS rather than the Steam Deck OS.

I already have experience using a Windows handheld. It's fine once you set up a couple of helper apps.
