This "debate" is incredibly dumb since it's all subjective.

I don't mind a little charring... that's part of the flavor of the meat and preparation.
I find uncooked and under-cooked meat gross and in taste and texture...

my thing is, unless you only eat filet mignon or something, why pay a premium for a steak cut when the end result is virtually indifferent from far less expensive cuts of beef than what we call "steak"

filet is about the only traditional cut i can think of that still largely differentiates itself from other cuts regardless of cook temp (through tenderness not flavor)

but ribeye/strip/sirloin/a fuckin rump roast sliced 1.25" thick? all taste pretty much the same when cooked well, but vastly different at medium or below

i find obsidian dialogue to be overwrought, boring, and rarely does it ever cater to my personal RP tastes
i love roleplaying and being immersed in a game/setting, but i just can't gel with dialogue systems that routinely force me to pick an option my character wouldn't say anymore, and having to sit through screen after screen of it to get the information FO4/Skyrim does in a fraction of the time spent, is just exhausting to me
the last game i thought had genuinely good dialogue was dragon age origins, and that's less because it was good RP and more because the non-player characters (outside of like shale, and most of oghren's dialogue) at least approached a reasonable facsimile of a real human being (adhering to those character backgrounds)
it's why despite playing exclusively RPGs for 3/4ths of my life, i now mostly play open-ended survival RPGs where I can create my own story through immersive experience. and tbh, FO4/Skyrim scratch that itch a helluva lot better than MW/oblivion/FO3/NV do. the dialogue in obsidian games is literally immersion breaking to me lol

the last new game came out in 2016
but it did indeed overstay its welcome by the time you reach the penultimate dungeon

and while persona is by far from the worst offender, gimmicky turn based battle systems (ie: match enemy weakness to win) are so droll, especially when they have an elemental/type wheel that's more than you can count on both hands

like i said, that's why i like raid's battle system (even if the monetization ruins the game), because it's got simply 3 types in its wheel followed by an agnostic type. and being able to see enemy intents and turn orders for both sides, coupled with a highly customizable turn order via the speed stat, makes strategizing actually fun. and an easy to use automated scripting of ability use/behaviors/hierarchies tailored to specific tasks takes all the chore out of grinding.

ive just not seen a proper turn based rpg yet that can ride the balance between making its combat interesting without making normal battles superfluous or a chore.
