Evidently, this final five has been officially spoiled by production for over six months, and people only just started to pick up on it a few weeks ago.

A waist-down shot of them walking to the F5 immunity challenge was included in both the season preview at the end of the S45 finale, and was shown again in the opening montage of episode 1.

This is sort of similar to people figuring out the entire make-up of Kaoh-Rong's jury because for some stupid reason they included a (waist-down) shot of them walking to TC in a Cambodia episode (I think Jason's tats gave it away and people were able to narrow down who the rest of the legs belonged to).

It has DEFINITELY improved as it's gone on. I wasn't impressed with the pre-merge but it's grown on me. I'm nervous about the finish though. The two best characters (note I said characters, not players) going out back-to-back leading up to the finale while a lot of people who have either been mostly boring or underedited remain kinda sucks.

Larry Butz should be considered a major character, IMO.

There are a few other borderline cases (Wendy Oldbag, for instance) but Larry is the one that immediately stood out to me as "should get his own day."

Yes but get the Rainbow Road shortcut first try (assuming we agree that's the hardest course) and you can shield with bananas/shells the rest of the way. The CPUs don't get the lightning or blue shell that often, from my experience. (and even if they got a blue shell, there's a good chance it hits a wall before it gets to you)

It says the hardest course. Rainbow Road really isn't the hardest. It's got a barrier around the entire course and there are pretty minimal hazards. I'd venture to say we'd be driving on Yoshi Valley.
