I've seen quite a few people call off sick a day before which was surprising, thought it'd be much more strict. I guess my place of work is more relaxed.

A lot of kids in my high school have a cold and one of them gave it to me >_>

Had a slight fever but after one night of rest I fully recovered. Didn't really have to take any time off.

Also there are special events where idols sign for fans. Because they're so popular those events are rare.

Then there are real life gacha scenarios where you can order their photos online from the official store. Only around 100 of those sets would be signed by a member, out of tens of thousands of them.

Also a lot of idols are pretty much coveted in the industry, even way after they graduate. Signed photos of ex-nogizaka legends like Shiraishi Mai, Nishino Nanase, Saito Asuka, Erika Ikuta, Ikoma Rina, etc etc, go for several thousands of dollars.

Also the idol industry in both Japan and Korea are huge. And not only in their own countries but throughout the whole of Asia.

They have cute things sometimes. And normal things. Not everyone is cute. Many people hate it and find it manipulative. Japan isnt a fairtale.

Tbh more often than not cuteness encompasses their industry.

You tell a grown woman she's cute in Japan she'll love it. In the UK, we say pretty or beautiful. Cute is sometimes like an insult for older people there.

Even my ex who hated the idol industry lived being called cute and bought cute things.

You can tell because of the unnatural angles and how the humans seem to do strange stuff like walk upclose to a statue with a camera. Also the fact that it can't keep a coherent scene for too long without losing its realism grounded in logical surrounding. It's the reason why there's so many cuts.

That being said yes it's improving at a rapid rate. I'm just waiting to see if AI can keep it's coherence over a longer period of time without fucking something up.

Take that stupid beast thing out of the story from now on. Literally every character aside from her was interesting. Bakul Ja Ja, Zaruul Ja, Gulul Ja Ja, Sphene, Otis, Cahciua.

They handled Lamat so terribly, I was exhausted by the end. And the story itself wasn't even that bad. It definitely picked up in the 2nd half and I loved the whole Alexandria plot line. Just...Lamat, seriously they dropped the ball on that character so hard.

Not to mention that smile song. It's like taking the shit that Lamat dumped on the floor and shoving it in your face.

The fact that this show has introduced stuff that doesn't make sense in Supers timeline already suggests it. So if there is no indication that if it's canon or not, the obvious suggestion would be that it's non-canon/an alternate timeline that doesn't line up to Super. Just like GT.

Toriyama himself said it was canon before he passed. Goku not using SSJ4 in Super is kinda a plot hole I guess, but not really. In Super Goku basically just goes from SSJ1 straight to Blue for most fights. I would assume Blue is stronger than 4

Reducing the concept of "soft power imbalance" to something like this, even ignoring that the ban was lifted in its entirety in 2007, is just absurd. Doubly so when Japan is essentially only behind the USA as far as flagrantly flaunting its effective soft power over the rest of the world (an example of this would be umami versus oleogustus representation around the world). Soft power is not a single instance of things and many of them are minor, but even in this one instance it kind of laughable to call anything here "unfair." And this comes doubly so when you have the gall to put quotes around "sensitivities" and act like there isn't an extremely valid, and current, reason for South Korea to not particularly want to be friendly with Japan.

I think that's mostly for Idols. I've been trying to get a ticket to see Sakurazaka46 for a while now. There are different stages.

Pre-purchase, pre-purchase stage 2, then general if you're lucky. The first two stages are entirely luck based and as the group gets bigger it just gets impossible to secure a ticket. After that very rarely is there a door ticket.

Maybe in the past it was more prevalent, but no the South Korean government does not go out of their way to ban Jpop. With that said, if a Korean broadcasting station were to choose between playing Kpop or Jpop....you know exactly which ones they're going to pick.

Fair enough. I do believe there are other issues with how Japanese music is distributed and why it's popular in the first place which harms it's own industry anyway.

Where did you hear that Korea bans Jpop? And why did you believe it? Even now it is somewhat difficult for Japanese media to go from 0 to 100 in Korea but stuff that has any cultural heft (Pokemon, Nintendo, Shohei Ohtani, One Piece, etc) gets just as popular in Korea as anywhere else. Jpop is just globally pretty weak right now anyway. Who is even popular these days?

As for whose popular: Ado, Yoasobi, Aimer, Lisa, Utada Hikaru, Mrs Green Apple, etc

Back in the day it was outright restricted by the government but it was lifted in 2004.

But to this day companies and broadcasters still opt to ban Japanese music and jpop due to "sensitivities" between both countries.

Kind of crazy since Kpop has such a large hold over Japan now. Kind of an advantage of soft power Korea has which doesn't feel fair at all.

Actually, now that I think about it, I have a suggestion that might sound strange, but hear me out. The next time something like this happens ask the girl if she is introverted or extroverted.
Reason being, if she says introverted, then ask her to a casual lunch. Because introverts don't spend a lot of time talking with people they aren't interested in being friends with or romantic.
If she says extroverted, well, good luck with that. You have no idea if she was being friendly or actually interested.
