And usually the cashier in the Lawsons near where I live is a guy or middle aged man. Low and behold, as I'm walking up to the cash register, some cute girl is behind the till smiling and beckoning me. She scanned my bento then saw the magazine, scanned it, and quickly turned it over facing down as she continued to scan the rest. I saw her eyes kinda shift down. The silence was so awkward >_>

I would say studio but thats being generous. A good flat in a good area is a room and a "kitchen stall" in the corner, with a small bathroom with a toilet.

I think that comes from people who have no idea what they're talking about. Been to Tokyo twice, and living in Osaka now. My rent is barely 450 with a kitchen area, toilet, shower and tub, with a pretty good sized room. Something like this would have set me back 1200 in London.

Food is cheap as fuck, even convenience stores. Travel is cheap, although Osaka's trains are more expensive than Tokyo's for some reason. The only thing more expensive than London is fruit.

Edit: And yes salary would obviously be lower. But the gap between the salary and cost of living standard in Japan is much MUCH smaller in my experience than London.

I'm living here and yeah its quite cheap.

I'm seeing from the media apparently Kpop is losing steam. I don't know at all from that side, but from the Jpop side, a lot of shit has absolutely exploded. So many more artists and genres in Jpop, even idol groups have become varied.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a resurgence of Jpop in the west. The only thing holding it back is Japan themselves. They have their own economy for music and entertainment and most companies/labels don't give a shit about foreign sales, since they're one of the biggest music industries in the world.

Probably because I follow a lot of Jpop artists. I think It all started with Kohaku 2023 (A huge Japanese show where the biggest artists perform at the end of the year) and they had really popular Kpop groups dance around Yoasobi (The girl who sang the "idol" song).

A lot of kpop fans were pissed that they were dancing for a Japanese artist, saying that it was degrading. Forgetting the fact that they were literally IN FRONT of Nogizaka46 and Sakurazaka46, the two biggest Japanese idol groups in the world, and you could barely see their members behind the Korean groups.

I think from there, a lot of my feed has been infected with Kpop stans doxing people, going after other accounts, badmouthing new groups or other Japanese artist. Its actually kinda sickening. I swear some of these people are angry teenagers or just bots, itching to start arguments and division everywhere.

yea, I played the demo and fought the first boss/mini-boss thing you come across.

it just has the same old attack, strong attack, block/parry mechanic we've seen in tons of other action games, but it doesn't feel very interesting in that regard, IMO.

it feels like the mechanics of a Souls-like, but the weightlessness/lack of impact of an action title, which hurts its impact.

I felt totally different. It felt like there was impact and weight to Eve's attacks. Every hit I felt, especially the strong attacks. I could say they could work on the animations in-fight to make it more fluid, but other than that, the actual gameplay felt solid.

But theres always room for improvement. The implementation of the shield and stagger mechanic related to how you can parry them off-guard was kinda cool to me. Actually rewards you when you learn how to parry better. The downside to the fights were that when there were too many enemies off-screen, you'd get hit by a cheap shot.

The gameplay did look basic in the trailers, but when you actually play it, its pretty good imo. Its much more than just a hack and slash. I felt that each enemy could really catch you off guard if you're not ready to deflect or dodge at the right times.

Played the demo. Ost is amazing, gameplay is fun asf and animation/graphics are top notch.

If the game keeps that momentum throughout its easily GOTY contender.

And yes it really does have Nier Automata vibes.

Their DNA was still there I was told so its 20 people I'm sorry.

seems like the stakes going into Endwalker are quite low? When I watched the trailer I was promised yshtola arguing with sharlayan, invasions of horrors and everyone looking to the moon with MC on it. Yet MC was on the ground looking at the moon with everyone else

the lead up the Shadowbringers in comparison was far more grim

What do they mean by unrealistic though? Do they mean something thats not realistically possible? Because that picture obviously is (There are gravure and pornstars with that physique, and even just normal women) or do they want your more run off the mill women on the streets in real life?

In that case, most main characters in the stories they want would not have any unique or interesting features about them whatsoever, if they are being based off people who are your average joe. Hell, I go into a Sainsbury's or Tescos, and 9 times out of 10 theres gonna be a shorts wearing neck-beard. Is that what they're going for?

Both Bayonetta and 2B got shit on by the "journalists". The Bayonetta one died down after a while when they found out it was actually a women who designed her and Yoko Taro flat out admitted he just likes hot women when they went after him.

They have a good healthy portion of the population on my server. And Bozja at least from what I remember has a line or two in endwalker, nothing major at all.

Bozja was my favourite content ever. Eureka was also fun.

How's Japan?

Its great. Haven't been able to fully enjoy it since I'm still being situated. Training, got my apartment, furnishing it, finishing off my residency, opening bank account, sorting out the new job with coordinators ect.

Hopefully once everything dies down I can focus more on letting loose.

Might as well catch up on what I've been missing out on. Haven't seriously watched anime for over a decade and the only one I kept up with till now is Dragon Ball Super

Just finished the first episode, was pretty cool. I already like the protagonist and his little pet. Animation is great, and monster designs are wacky/cool. Makima came at the end (I know who she is, at one point the internet couldn't stop talking about her).

In all honesty one of the reasons I started watching this was that I won a few figures in this crane game place 20 mins away from my apartment, two of them being Chainsaw man characters. I usually have to have a connection to the characters I put on my shelves so I guess this game me a reason to watch this lol.

Weird, I'm in the middle of my Japan trip right now, first week was Tokyo, this week is Osaka, and I just came back from "downtown" (Dotonbori, if you consider that downtown).

The girls are very good looking here, can't say if Tokyo or Osaka is better yet.

Been meaning to visit Dotonbori soon.

I'm from London. It wasn't that hard once I landed the job, I think from western countries like ours Japan is more relaxed in handing out Visas. It does help to have quite a bit saved up though.

I speak at a conversational Japanese level. I know Hiragana, Katakana and a hundred or so Kanji (Maybe more now). Granted, I had been learning for around three years at a Japanese language school back in London.

How are the people in Osaka compared to Tokyo? >_> They were pretty friendly and fun in Tokyo when I was chatting up locals

I've only been here almost 2 weeks now, but I haven't really felt any difference. They're friendly here too but I heard from a lot of people that Kansai people in Osaka are friendlier than Tokyo or Kyoto people.

Maybe its because I've just been settling in and focusing on setting up work/residency since I haven't interacted much with people yet, only company employees and colleagues.

She was my girlfriend and wanted to be my fiance. I can say it was various things. Our hobbies didn't really align (this is a small issue), but we both wanted different things in life. She wasn't about the whole city life, with me wanting to work in Tokyo. She also wanted to settle down, preferably in London, which is something I didn't want.

She wanted to push for marriage and I wanted to wait till we got our stuff in order first. I know its vague, but we'd constantly have disagreements and misunderstandings, mostly coming out of our inability to just sit down and talk about it. I think its because of her upbringing (She's from Shiga near Kyoto) which is a really conservative closed off lifestyle. She also disliked a lot of things I liked, Japanese dramas, videogames, movie ect.

She even disliked the fact that I was into the idol group Sakurazaka46, even though she herself knew various idols and male idols. I guess there were different standards she had in her mind.

After that I could kinda feel us growing apart in the last year we were together. So in the back of my mind I kinda expected it, even though it still felt like I got stabbed in the heart.

I spoke to her a lot and she really did ask a few questions about my ex-gf and personal life. Not sure if that means anything. I did get her number though, so maybe I'll call her regarding some work stuff tomorrow >_>

It's not weird to call it a fetish when the way you display your "preference" here, borders on obsessive. Like a majority of the time that I see you posting, you're either talking about Japanese women, or posting pictures of Japanese women. And that's what a fetish is, a preference that's taken to an abnormal level.
