I basically rank games I've beaten only and there is a lot more on the list but it would go on forever. There is also a **** load I've played in the genre but didn't beat, mostly because I dropped it due to them being bad or boring games or having tedious gameplay.

I would also appreciate if there are no posts arguing about the genre of the games I've ranked. For example: RE5 is not a horror game it is a full-on hardcore action beat em' up 3rd person shooter etc etc etc. I classified it as horror so it will be horror to me.

That said you can recommend games that are not on the list but chances are I've already played them since I have played a lot of Horror games over the years, good or bad.

But it is robbing people from experiencing the best games today. Like literally every great game being released today is a PS4 exclusive.

I have completed a grand total of 4 Xbox One games to date: Halo 5, Gears of War 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Sunset Overdrive. Two of which aren't even exclusives. I can't even count the number of PS4 or Wii U games I've beaten in my head. And I suspect I'll have played and beaten more Switch games in a few months than this sorry excuse of a system.

Like l literally haven't bought a single game for it since the latest Forza. I've been looking to add some games to my collection but everything it has, the PS4 has it or the PC does. Not to mention the staggering amount of must own exclusives the PS4 having over it, is jarring to say the least.

What is even the reason to own this system over the PS4? Halo 5? A 6/10 game at best? The best game I've played on the system which is an exclusive is Sunset Overdrive and it wouldn't even make my Top 300 list

The Bone better come up with a few must own games soon as it is being b**** slapped by the PS4 left and right. Or it's time to pull the plug. I legitimately pity people who chose the Bone over PS4 because they are missing out on the best games of the generation.

What is even coming out that I can't just get on the PS4 or my computer?

Seriously, I'm voting Bone as the worst system of all time and Microsoft should be banned from making future systems for showing its heights of laziness with this.

This is a rant topic for how frustrated I am with Microsoft for this poor excuse of a system after 360 gave PS3 a run for its money. In hindsight the console wars seems like the stupidest thing to ever even exist.

I might be one of the few who thought Birth by Sleep was merely an above average game. Playing as 3 characters was exhausting despite each campaign being pretty short and having varied scenes (to an extent). And the story was predictable, cliche and redundant as hell. Not that telling a good story has been KH's strong suit. The gameplay and the worlds have always been the two main draws for me.

I would say it is easily the best of the spin-offs I've played though. Not because it is a very good game but because the other spin-offs are bad-mediocre games and makes it look good in comparison (Haven't played DDD yet).

BBS just reminded me of how much better the two main games are in basically every way and it shocks me when people even consider it on the same level as the two.

That is why it is hard to get motivated for playing KH spin-offs when you know it is not gonna be even close to the level of the main games.

Even if Fed gets stuck at 19 and Nadal passes him after winning 15 French Open titles, he will not be greater than Fed. It will just make him the undisputed best on clay which he already is.

So yeah this Federer/Nadal GOAT debate aside from Nadal owning not just Fed but literally everybody else on clay, has never been and never will be in the conversation.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. What a fantastic game. It is without a doubt the best Zelda game I've played and I've played them all.

The fact that it takes the concept of the original LoZ and realizes its vision in a breathtaking massively open-world structure is truly one of gaming's crowning achievements.

This is the best open-world game I've played and while I'm not the biggest fan of the concept (I do like a fair share of such games but generally prefer games with a more focused design and great storytelling) I do respect the ambition it harbors. BotW though, is not simply a mere display of an ambitious project, it is what an ambitious project looks like when everything it envisions comes to fruition, flourishes and creates an open-world that truly breathes life. IMO that aspect in open-world games hasn't even been achieved by the likes of Skyrim and Fallout 3.

All the so-called flaws like the weapon durability system, the shorter, faster paced shrines rather than the hour-long dungeons, the tighter detailed environments than the more open less detailed environments (which I found out not to be true), etc etc, are not even really flaws but simply things blown out of propotion by 'that' portion of fanbase who just want to continue their annoying habit of the Zelda cycle of love and hate.

This is going on too long so I'm gonna end this by saying, this is the most fun I've had with a Zelda game and also the best game in the series. It is hard to stop playing this game once it get rolling and playing on the Switch made it all that much easier because of the portability.

This would no doubt be my pick for GotY in one of gaming's top 3 years (besides 98 and 01) if it weren't for that phenomenal masterpiece that embodies gaming entertainment at its absolute best called Persona 5.

Board 8 please decide my next game. I'm gonna run out of must-play games very soon.

Oh wait it is. This is a good refresher for a game I've played over a decade and a half ago (or more).

I suspect the gameplay hasn't aged too well but it has and always will harbor one of the best conspiracy storylines in video game history. Played HL1 about 5 or so years ago and oh boy has it aged badly. I worry Deus Ex would make me feel the same way playing it in this day and age.

I think the only games truly necessary to enjoy the show are Castlevania III and to a lesser extent, Curse of Darkness. Far as I can remember, these are the only two games in the Trevor Belmont timeline.

SoTN can make a case for the argument since it is Alucard's story and he is a major character in the Trevor Timeline.

I'm 28 years old and I would choose playing games on it over even the PS4 because of portability. Playing Zelda in a hotel room while travelling is just awesome. Can't do the same for other consoles.

2017 is going to Persona 5 unless Super Mario Odyssey or Xenoblade Chronicles 2 end up being Best Game Ever material and even then it might not be enough to top it.

BotW looks like it will take second place. I'm over 100 hours in and I'm still not done. It is possibly the best Zelda game I've ever played (and I've played them all) if it keeps it up until the finish.

Nioh will take third place, followed by NieR: Automata and then Resident Evil 7. Any of these game could potentially win GotY any other year that is not 2017.

And I'm not even done yet. I still have Horizon: Zero Dawn, Tales of Berseria and Trails in the Sky the 3rd on the back burner.

I cannot get over how fantastic a year for gaming 2017 is. I personally might even take it over 1998 and 2001.

Lament of Innocence is pretty good. Has a very good story and is pretty fun to play. It is a short game and you can get it over with quick, even if you don't like it that much.

Now Curse of Darkness. That game is criminally underrated. I loved every second of it and the only real flaw it has, is that the game is too easy. I really wish we got more 3D games like it before Konami pulled the plug on..... video games.

Oh as for playing. I generally play what I want or ask the board with a poll if I have trouble deciding. I no longer play bad-average games anymore and usually look at reviews and user consensus before deciding to play a game. Then do yourself a favor and own Dawn of Dreams. It is a criminally underrated game. It retains the Action-based Samurai swordplay while adding RPG elements and is much longer than any of the other games.

While some of these major changes turned off some of the original trilogy fans, it ultimately does everything its predecessors did, adds more to it and enhances the series in a big way. The story is pretty good, the soundtracks are great, the boss battles are outstanding and the gameplay is nothing short of epic.

A truly underrated gem that you'd be robbing yourself of, if you don't even try it.
