I'll give you that in some reviews I act way to negative, but DmC is not one such review. That game is indefensible gutter trash with an even worse director.

You're too fixated on the fact that the director designed Dante to look like himself and that is reason enough for you to overlook everything else and call it a 0/10 game.

Like the complaint about platforming sounds like double standards just like someone here mentioned, considering there are way more obnoxious platforming sections (especially if you go for all the secret missions) in literally every other title in the series except DMC5.

If Dante were redesigned to look somewhat similar to his past incarnation and not like the director's ugly mug, I'm sure you and a lot of other fans will be judging the game way way less harshly.

Resident Evil back in its rollercoaster action form along with its awesome janky cheesy story with cheesy janky dialogue. I loved every second of it. I also love how they completely scrapped Chris Redfield's 765th redesign from RE7 and went back to his RE5/6 self.

Honestly though, the story isn't bad at all and the Resident Evil charm seeps out from every single pore from this game, which carries the plot further than it should have.

Classic case of one of your hyperbole reviews.

You make good points about Donte and the director's cringey ego trip, self inserting him as a beloved character from a beloved VG franchise. The character redesigns are definitely bad. The game self sabotaged itself from the get go with fans of the series because of all these things mentioned.

However let's not pretend this game is anywhere near the spectrum of a Superman 64 and E.T like you claim it is. Hell it beats the living shit outta DMC2 and arguably is on the same level as DMC4 (which is another flawed game in the series, but for different reasons).

I don't know how any fan of the genre could actually dislike the gameplay though. It may be a bit too easy in comparison to the rest of the games in the series but that can be solved by cranking up the difficulty to your standards.

I love it for the atmosphere and bosses (which are admittedly more difficult than they actually are because of the camera, Nightmare 3 I'm looking at ya). I still have a blast going back to it. Its got Original Resident Evil kinda charm for me, which is something that will never fade with time.

I really like Morrowind's progression in its plot and despite being the older game, it managed to grip me way more than Oblivion's main story (which was repetitive and redundant after a while). The endgame in particular is very strong in story and atmosphere.

I wish the rebooted trilogy featured Jaquio in some way, shape or form. His design was just badass. We did get 'Irene' in Ninja Gaiden 3 though, which was the only positive I can think of, for that game.

I don't know why people are holding VIII's atmosphere in such high regard. I mostly remember beaches, plains, forests and caves. Once you start controlling Dana, it becomes a little more varied. Maybe because VIII has full camera control which is a huge step up from Memories of Celceta but that game had way more interesting locations.

Surprisingly still the best Ninja Gaiden story. The mystery behind Ryu's father's death, Jaquio being a badass villain, Irene shooting Ryu (which scared the shit out of me as a child) stuck with me after all these years.

Although I hold the rebooted games in higher regard minus Ninja Gaiden 3, the original NES trilogy still holds a special place in my heart and Ninja Gaiden 1's story is the best one in the entire series.

Fortress of Doom, I'd imagine has aged terribly because of how grindy it is and the ridiculous encounter rate (kinda like Mother and Dragon Quest II).

One the standout stories of JRPGs from its era. The four sinistrals are built up perfectly as unstoppable forces and I love that 'unwinnable' battle against Gades which shows what you are dealing with. Maxim and Selan's romance could have used more development though. It kinda felt like Tia would have been a more natural choice but we all know that would never happen if you have played Lufia and the Fortress of Doom's intro.

The gameplay and atmosphere is great. Story and characters, not so much. I'd say it is also the easiest game in the series apart from DMC2 but I haven't played this one on the harder difficulties.

Yes

Other than her physical build which is ridiculous in a post-apocalyptic world, her motives are believable and she is a likable humane person. Not among the best Last of Us characters but enough for a yes.

Wow. This is easily the least amount of original games I've played in a year. Also pains me to say, I'm still waiting for my SMTV copy.

To actually make Chrono Cross into a good game if they are going the remake route, they basically have to remake the game from ground up, remove all the nonsensical things like the bajillion useless party members, the super weird in a bad way battle system which is also slow as hell, scrap the dialogue, rewrite it without the terrible accents and make it a completely different game than the original.

So we actually get something that is not Chrono Cross at all. Huh. They should just call it Chrono Break (or whatever it was rumored to be called) and make it the third entry everyone is dying for.

If it is faithful to the source material and has enough implementations like FF7R to make it a different but enjoyable experience from the original, I'd say it has the potential to be one of the best Remakes ever like FF7R and Resident Evil 2.

I don't even mind just a scene-to-scene, faithful remake to the original, just in a 3D setting with great production values and full camera control.

If they are gonna do a remake like Secret of Mana though, I'd rather the game not be touched.

I know this has already been discussed in the other topic but.... Why Chrono Cross? There's dozens of Square games that deserve being remade than this.

Not up to MGS standards by a long shot but it is leagues and leagues better than something like Portable Ops. I didn't care about any of the characters and the plot twists can be seen coming from a mile away. It has good parts but overall it is quite average.

I always thought PW was extremely overrated. Not just its story.

I always used to like Grandia II more than Grandia but after replaying both about 3 years ago, I feel the opposite.

Grandia has this great sense of adventure and mystery, kinda like Skies of Arcadia. It has a very nice battle system and the story in 1 is so so much better than 2. Worth a try I'd say at aleast.

Ys VIII is such an overrated game. I went in expecting to be mindblown because everybody was saying it was so good and instead I just got a JRPG with not bad combat but bland as hell atmosphere and a snoozer of a story. Nothing special. I honestly think Memories of Celceta was more enjoyable than Ys VIII even though it was maybe more flawed overall.

Actually I've only played Memories of Celceta, VIII and this.

I haven't beaten this one though because I got bored after playing for about 6 hours.

I tend to do everything I can in every game I play unless it is something unnecessary and tedious but it is stuff like these that are the reason why I don't care about trophies or achievements.

Go for Ori and the Will of the Wisps, otherwise I'd recommend Metroid Dread but you already said you can't play that.

Yeah. It is. It is as good as a heavyweight bout ever gets. It was a collision of two of the biggest stars in the company at the time. Insane athleticism from Drew, perfect heelwork from Roman. Great match where two juggernauts were beating the hell out of each other and enduring the other's best shot. The only flaw I can think of is that the finish was controversial, but it was the right call because it didn't derail Roman's momentum and protected Drew with the finish.

Name me better heavyweight bouts than this.

I've rated games' stories based on less than 5 hours of play, but to each his own.

Haven't played Sticker Star, so I can't rate. But damn, it's cool to see Plumbers score less than a 2!

Yeah I wouldn't rate a game unless I beat them especially their story.

which is one part of why I think Bryan Danielson is the best wrestler in the world right now. Not only has he banged out more great matches in 2 months than Roman's entire title run, he's brought a sense of importance and legitimate ass kicking to the AEW main event scene, created all sorts of exciting matchups immediately and shown he is one of the best character workers in the game with how effortlessly he's slotted in as an antagonist opposite Hangman

I would give a shoutout to Shingo for delivering every single time I've bothered to see him, but I dunno, he can't fight against the NJPW clap crowd atmosphere for me.

That's the thing about opinions.

I think Bryan's matches from AEW that has been on the same level as the Roman matches I mentioned, is only Bryan/Omega. That is not on Bryan though because it was the only main event level match that he's had other than maybe Kingston. I fully expect Bryan/Hangman to be one of the best matches of the year if not outright Match of the Year, that is if we even get it this year.

I voted for MJF from these options. His promo and character work has just been outstanding. I also thought he was always a good but not a great wrestler but he proved me wrong at Full Gear. His match with Darby is in my opinion, the match of night.
