It was definitely an idea that Nintendo didn't really think through on how it would be useful. Extremely limited connection to be able to have Off-TV play reliably, most games just used the GamePad screen as a map...very underutilized.

Apparently you can thank Rian Johnson for throwing out Abrams notes on where to take the story in last Jedi. Just said fuck it and did his own thing with very little consideration.

The frustrating thing is that I totally appreciate Rian's viewpoints and what he was trying to do for the franchise (which is why I'm willing to give a Rian-directed trilogy a shot), but doing it in the middle of a damn trilogy that wasn't his to begin with was a mistake.

• The Advance Trilogy
• The Sonic Rush Trilogy (Sonic Colors DS counts as part of it)
• Sonic Adventures 1 and 2
• Sonic Generations

Those are the ones I enjoyed the absolute most, and I played practically all of the games.

Yeah, I can agree with that. Separately I found the movies enjoyable (Rise of Skywalker to a lesser extent) but together they suck as a cohesive trilogy. It's not like the entire original trilogy was planned out ahead of time, but they were somehow able to make that trilogy cohesive enough to be enjoyed as a group.

It still blows my mind that out of all the video game movie adaptations, fucking SONIC is one of the rare ones that got it right. I'm glad for it, too!

Not really, just your tastes in video games will be wildly narrow.

It got changed to "Oddity". Still has a similar art style and battle system to Mother, but removed all references to said franchise. So far still no release date though.

The fact that Street Fighter 6 is on there three times in such short timespans from each other makes me think this is definitely fake.

To be fair, I think any fan works of the Mother series will be fine since Itoi himself said he's okay with it. So, not much Nintendo can do. The whole "Mother 4" fan project was likely just changed because the project grew bigger than to just be a fangame.

IIRC they patched the first DLC so it's a tad easier. Definitely was tough the first time I played it, but haven't tested it post-patch so I'm not sure how much easier it was made.

Sonic 3. I was lucky enough for there to be internet when I first tried that game. You can probably guess what I was stuck on.

Funny enough I see way more essays examining the characters and story of XC2 on Youtube. But maybe that's just me.

• Two nations starting with the letters K and A are at war with each other, possibly over reasons they don't understand/may be manipulated into doing.
• Male main character's name is Noah, a.k.a. Project Noah
• There's a hint that reincarnation may be involved
• They showed a controllable boat to explore a vast sea in one area, and considering both nations have mechs...there may be controllable mechs at some point
• Both nations once came from their original world that was destroyed
• "Ouroboros" has a major theme to the story

And as an aside...Future Connected was stated to tie into the future of the Xenoblade series and the threat there (the Fog King/Fog Beasts), which was only stopped temporarily, were pretty much just Gnosis from Xenosaga. So there's that story element to throw in as well.

It's not going to be 100% Xenogears story from the looks of it but it heavily borrows a ton from it, and either way it looks like it's going to be a crazy story. Can't wait for September.

Probably not. Aside from the NES games no Zelda sequel has ever just slapped a 2 on the original name. (...Actually scratch that, just remembered the Japanese name of A Link Between Worlds which was literally just Triforce of the Gods 2)

Yeah, $25 for 48 courses is a steal even if they are all old tracks. I'd go with that instead of the online expansion if N64 and Genesis games don't interest you.

did you even watch it? every shot bar maybe a half second of mythra is above the neck face shots or views of them in the distance. the absolute 'worst' is at 53 seconds.

You could still tell that they have comically huge chests though, which is part of the point some people had, lol.

Regardless, I'm not denying that Xenoblade 3 will have sexy fanservice. All the Xenoblade games do.

Ironically the thing I'm looking forward to the most until it releases is getting to listen to some of that sweet music.

I can see it. I liked 2 Remake but the whole "Side A/Side B" thing was drastically toned down for the remake compared to the original. It cut out a few enemy types as well, IIRC.

I haven't checked my Facebook in months and haven't talked to her in a while and decided to look now...and found out this happened early December last year. This feels weird.

Yeah it seems like from people's impressions the game's pretty good, just kinda glitchy in places. I've only played for a couple hours but so far the only glitch I've gotten is it occasionally flickering black as if the character is blinking.

It was CGI? I was thinking the mouth at least was real. But then again there were a couple times where it seemed like the mouth was very slightly off-sync with the voice (unless that's just Disney+ acting up).

I think it might be part of the music file, so clipping it out is the closest you can get.

If you're playing on Steam, I recommend the HD Project mod. Game looks excellent with that.

I mean, no question that Beyond Good & Evil 2 fits that bill way more, but after they revealed Gotham Knights I feel like we've heard nothing about it. Hopefully that means they're changing direction a bit, because it seemed like it was going for some kind of live-service BS.

Toko really is a shit character and one of the worst in the series, and I can prove it.

Literally the only reason I originally got into DR was because I'm a fan of smelly girls and found out that one of the running jokes is that Toko smells bad and doesn't bathe much.

When I finally played it, I hated her.

I hated her too initially, but...Ultra Despair Girls gives her some much needed character development.

Yeah I'll give him that at least, I still look that scene up for a laugh sometimes. And to be fair (haven't played DR1 in a while so IIRC) wasn't there that one point in the story where he kind of tries to step up as a leader/morale booster? So not a completely terrible person I guess. It's mostly his last Free Time Event where I just can't stand his existence anymore. Oh and Chapter 4 I guess, he was pretty shitty there too. So was Toko/Genocide Jill to be fair, but Hiro drew first blood in that scenario so fuck 'im.

It's kind of awful too because his School Mode ending just doubles down on that bullshit from his last FTE.

I initially wrote it off because of Avengers as well, but I absolutely recommend Guardians of the Galaxy. A fantastic game, it's what you get when you actually focus on making a single-player game instead of live-service BS.

Well, in case you need this, the correct play order:

DR1 ==> DR2 ==> DR:UDG ==> DR3 Anime (Alternating between Future/Despair Arcs 1 episode at a time) ==> DRV3

This. UDG takes place between 1 and 2 but it absolutely spoils major plot elements from 2. So they need to be played in release order.

That said, UDG plays so differently and there's not much more you can learn that the DR3 anime doesn't cover already, so you could probably skip it if you want.

This game surprised me a lot. I mean, I got it because it looked interesting, but it's a ton of fun. It's got rogue-lite elements to it which justifies its difficulty.
