Fair enough. Still, I think investigating potential criminal dealings is valuable regardless, since it's people's money they're dealing with.

For anyone who hasn't watched the video and wants a brief rundown:

Karl and Mutahar (Mutahar will have a detailed video on this shortly) dug a little deeper and found out that taking into account the Indieland donations, grants from other charities, and sponsorship money from a Golf Cup tournament Open Hand has started and hosted every single year, there's HUGE discrepancies in their tax documents and a lot of missing money. Karl considers this significant enough to be criminal activity and needs to be investigated ASAP.

The thing that killed Avengers for me was the gameplay and its progression loop, not the live service stuff. So if Rocksteady has an addicting and fun gameplay structure then this might be pretty good to me.

Did this actually accomplish anything? It looked like everything was already preserved on "certain websites" anyway. At the very least he could have not wasted money on the ones that definitely were, like all the popular first and third party stuff.

I think he didn't want to risk just leaving stuff on piracy websites because one day that could all just disappear. He donated the harddrives to Game Preservation (I think that's the name of it) so they could have actual legit copies of these games.

Yeah, I always suspected that the Templars were always higher in number and in power while the Assassins win a few battles here and there. My last AC right now was Unity and I didn't even finish it, so I'm assuming that's still the case.

Future Redeemed is really one of those things where if you haven't played all three games (excluding X) beforehand you'll probably not fully get the story, lol. XC3 itself is fine to start there, but Future Redeemed has baggage for those who haven't been keeping up with the franchise.

Still damn good expansion though. They did the one thing I hoped for in terms of gameplay: since the games have a huge focus on exploration, they tied character progression directly to exploration and finding stuff as permanent upgrades.

I saw an out-of-context scene that caught me off guard, everyone says it's an "endless movie" and I saw it's 3 hours. Is it actually any good, lol? The soundtrack is lovely at least.

Hell, Jacksepticeye hosts a huge yearly charity event that I'm pretty sure is 100% genuine as well.

I like how the narrative from people upset by this is the political side when the legitimate discussion I've seen of the actual game implied it wasn't that special.

I really hope this was just a case of gross negligence and not being a willing participant, because something has to be done about the money that's just sitting there.

This was an absolutely excellent show and a great ending. Was worried that the D+ show ending curse was going to affect this one but it didn't. I'm so glad that my favorite MCU character (no joke) got such a good show and story arc culminating to this point.

I've seen some say that it's the first Souls-like that actually feels like a FromSoft game, and that's probably the highest praise you can give. I'm pretty interested, just been busy with other games and other stuff to catch up on.

I'm guessing because anything people post can be searched up and doesn't require hashtags.

I have nothing against The Completionist besides the fact that I have never seen someone try so hard to be funny all the time and never even be remotely funny. It is seriously amazing how unfunny he is.

It's part of why I don't follow his videos. He seemed really nice otherwise, but his Completionist videos tried to inject humor and 90% of the time it was painful.

Like, he was worried that "donating the money immediately after finding this out would be an admission of guilt" but that shouldn't matter at all if you're legitimately trying to fix an issue.

Yeah. It's still not a good idea for charity to sit on money for an extended period of time, so not sure what they're thinking.

This really bummed me out, Jirard seems like an incredibly wholesome individual and if he was willingly contributing to charity fraud that would be terrible.

The only thing they need to do is donate all the money they've received, and fast.

Seems to depend entirely on the quality of the game. It's why Sonic gets shit on for the smallest things that other games would get away with, because its reputation isn't that great.

The raw programming needed to make a game is a small part of development

there was no level design done, barely any, UX, no character/scenario creation, they even reused parts of the old translation

In general game development is a lot more difficult/complicated than people from the outside seem to give it credit for, so I take issue with calling a clearly polished and well-made game lazy, regardless of if it's a 1:1 remake.

They could've perhaps chosen a lesser price for it like the Crash and Spyro remakes, but 1:1 remakes that basically just end up being prettier versions of the old games have a place in the industry.

you could have gotten this exact same experience years ago, for no extra cost, if they had just put this game on the online service they have specifically for this purpose

Probably an issue of direction. Of course when you can't really sing well to the point they have to add autotune there's not really much you can blame the direction for on that.
