Ocarina of Time was the first one I ever played, via demo kiosks. It wasn't until later where I played it to completion via...other means. That move got me hooked on the series so I ended up getting legitimate copies of every game one way or another.

It probably wouldn't be if games like Hi-Fi Rush actually moved Gamepass subs, but they don't do that either.

It's interesting then considering Microsoft said back during release time that it was a surprise hit, enough that they wanted to invest more into Tango.

This narrative that Hi-Fi Rush didn't do well is pretty odd, I gotta say.

Currently trying to learn game dev, making a basic gameplay engine, and I found out I made a mistake somewhere that's causing issues. I found it, fixed it, and it broke everything else. Since I'm not into actually creating a game environment yet I figured it'd be easier to just start all over. Still sucks though.

Well if that's the case I hope they never abolish it. Good morale leads to a better work environment and generally better games.

It sucks a lot at first...and it continues sucking afterwards but it's a little easier. I'd think the results are more than worth it though. I want to get rid of my excess body fat but I'm not interested in building muscle too much, so it won't be that hard for me I think.

It's interesting that Nintendo is probably still the one major publisher that is completely developer-friendly, amidst all this news. They're not perfect, but I feel like if...say MonolithSoft was under anybody else, that studio would've been shut down by now.

This move was 100% made to make shareholders happy for maximum profitability, because I remember earlier that Microsoft stated they would invest more into Tango Gameworks due to Hi-Fi Rush's success.

N64 still did well for it's time and GC was neck and neck for 2nd during its gen, they weren't flop systems.

The Wii U games were fantastic. A lot of the Switch success is because of ported Wii U games. The Wii U was a marketing failure and bad gimmick.

N64 and Gamecube also had fantastic games, so yeah, in a topic talking about sales it's a bit of a silly statement.

I assumed the backlash was it being mandatory and not offering anything new for it like cross-platform stuff.

Edit: Nevermind, looks like it was an option beforehand to enable cross-play, the backlash was making it mandatory in order to keep playing on your platform of choice, which is very stupid.

The only way I would've seen this being an okay decision in the first place is if they offered cross-platform progress and playing with others for linking to a PSN account.

Glad it got walked back. It had to happen eventually once people were requesting (and actually getting) refunds.

So, why mod Infinite at all? My understanding is Ultimate is the go to and already has much of the same cast. Was the gameplay a huge improvement or something? I'd imagine balance changes can already be modded in Ultimate.

I imagine it's a bit of different gameplay because of the Infinity Stone system. Infinite also seems like it's easier to mod for.

That's true.

It definitely seems like something I have to work on personally. It doesn't really erase my previous enjoyment of something because I do still remember that, but being around constant negativity over something you enjoyed is a bit of a bummer, lol.

I've been realizing that just experiencing things by myself is the best way to handle it without being directly involved in "fanbases."

I don't quite mean it literally, but you enjoy a piece of media like a movie, game, or whatnot and want to discuss it...but all you see practically is a bunch of complaining. To me, I can ignore it for the most part, but if I see that every time I want to discuss, it drags me down, makes me start nitpicking, and ruin what I otherwise enjoyed.

I've noticed this happening to me a couple times lately and decided to just cut myself off from those discussions because it's not healthy mentally.

Probably not. UMvC3 modding is insane and huge and they haven't sent a C&D on that yet. There could always be a chance it'll happen though, I suppose.

It's Unreal Engine 4, so if you have knowledge about that engine it should be easier to mod for than something like UMvC3, since that used MT Framework or something like that.

Also good to note that they will have support for fan-made characters, so the game can finally have the X-Men back in it. Can't wait to see what they do!

The first thing they're doing is giving it a presentable art style similar to comic books with a subtle pinstripe effect. Once they got the art style going they'll start making alterations to the entire cast and the stages.

I got one of these too a year or two ago. Going 50 on a 40 I believe, where literally everybody else does it. Outright gave me a ticket instead of a warning, but I went to the courthouse to pay it and was told that the officer didn't even turn in the ticket so I didn't have to pay it. Got lucky I guess.

Yeah, I'm ultimately not sure if the different approach for the scene was a good idea even though I understand it. Nojima (I think it was him, he's the writer) said he was really nervous about reception of the ending compared to Remake's, so he knew it would be mixed at best. There's a theory that they might be keeping the emotional payoff of the scene for Part 3 when Cloud gets his shit together, but will that be worth it? I dunno.

So, what they were supposedly going for was to put you in Cloud's shoes in a sort of extreme "denial" over a loved one. So much so that he believes he saved her (he might have but we don't know the truth) and we as the player are robbed of the burial because he blocked it out. The question remains if the Aerith he was talking to was real in some way or not.

Execution is a different story, but that's the angle they were going for this time, the devs confirmed it in the Ultimania.
