I only have 9 series that I would give a 10/10. Considering that I've actually seen more anime than you have (according to how many entries we have completed on MAL) I guess that means I'm just a bit pickier with my 10/10's. Anyways, here's mine:

I never watched the original, but I've been enjoying this reboot version so far, and I can definitely see why Holo was such a popular waifu back in the day.

My battle against Lusamine can be quickly summed up with one image:

So yeah, after looking through my team's options and the movesets of Lusamine's Pokemon, I realized that Cutiefly could set up with Quiver Dance (an insane move the boosts SpAtk, SpDef, and Speed all in one go) on her Clefable that only knows special attacks and Charm, all while healing itself with Roost. Then, once it gets set up to +6, it could start attacking with its STAB Bug Buzz and Dazzling Gleam. Thanks to extra bulk from the Eviolite, Cutiefly was able to execute the plan perfectly and sweep Lusamine's entire team without any of my other Pokemon needing to do anything. I can't believe this actually worked so well.

After that battle and all of the story stuff after it, I finally reached the Seafolk Village on Poni Island, the fourth and final island of the Alola region. This playthrough has been a lot of fun, but I'm heading into the home stretch now.

Batta The Beast in Fire Emblem: Blazing Blade

Ive made my way through most of the Aether Paradise story section. The mooks and Faba were fairly easy, but then I got to the part where Team Skull shows up, and it took me a couple of attempts and some experimentation to beat Guzma this time. I led with Magnemite against his Golisopod and attacked with Discharge, which did enough damage to trigger Golisopods Emergency Exit ability and force out Pinsir. I switched to Mudbray (holding the Eviolite for this battle) and Mudbray was able to tank enough hits to eventually KO Pinsir with Rock Tomb. Then he sent out Vikavolt, I switched to Gastly, and I just had Gastly use Destiny Bond to cheese Vikavolt. Finally, I switched back to Magnemite, who KOd Masquerain and then finished off the weakened Golisopod to get me the win.

After another quick and easy battle against the weird Ultra Recon Squad people, Im currently saved in front of the next major battle against Lusamine, who I am terrified of. She has a team of five fully evolved Pokemon at level 47 (so they're only slightly lower leveled than my team of unevolved Pokemon) including some very bulky ones in Clefable, Milotic, and Bewear.

On a random side note, completely unrelated to the playthrough: I totally forgot how much the story of the gen 7 Pokemon games reminds me of Kill La Kill. Both stories involve a psychotic, beauty-obsessed mother trying to harness aliens to gain power, while her two children (one of whom is a total edgelord) rebel against her and try to stop her plot in their own ways.

Yep, Nintendo was weird with censorship like... a decade ago. But the games they were censoring back then were T for Teen and they were trying to keep them from jumping up to M for Mature, not games that were already rated and intended to be M-rated to begin with like the games Sony has been censoring lately. Nintendo has been far nicer to third-party M-rated games on the Switch, while Sony has gone in the opposite direction in recent years.

So to sum it up: a Japanese game had to edit outfits to cover more skin and remove a jiggle physics slider, and these changes only applied to the Playstation version. I don't know about you, but that sounds like censorship forced by Sony, and what they were forced to censor seems pretty tame compared to literally being allowed to fuck a bear in Baldur's Gate 3.

They've forced censorship on a lot of other games in the past that they didn't publish, including games that released uncensored on other consoles while the Playstation version was the only version that was censored. All of which were from Japanese developers, of course. Hell, some games have been forced to cancel their western Playstation versions entirely as a result of being asked to change things for censorship so late in development.

Agreed. The outfit changes I've seen don't bother me at all, they seem minor at best and the outfits are still sexy. If they were the originals and the "pre-censored" versions never existed, then no one would be complaining right now. But you're right, it's about the principle. Censorship is bad, and lying about not having censorship and then implementing it after a lot of people have already bought the game is a scumbag move.

Plus, there's still the blatant double standard when it comes to Japanese games compared to western games. Players can literally have sex with a bear in Baldur's Gate 3, Sony was like "sure that's cool", and game journalists were praising the game for how horny it was. But as soon as a Japanese-made game so much as shows a little too much cleavage, suddenly Sony says "nope change it", and game journalists are ripping the game for being too sexualized and calling the fans degenerates and coomers. How is that fair? If Sony really wants to be puritans over this stuff, then at least be consistent with it.

"Creative decisions" usually aren't made so late in development that they need to be implemented in a day 1 patch.

Changing the "Hard R" graffiti didn't bother me at all. I think that one was perfectly reasonable to avoid any racist connotations, and that doesn't even feel like censorship at all. I do disagree with the outfit changes though. The false advertising from the studio about the game being uncensored and Sony's hypocrisy for forcing this censorship when western games like Baldur's Gate 3 are allowed to include far worse just add more to be annoyed about in this situation.

EDIT: Also, sending reviewers a digital copy with version 1.01 and the already censored outfits while physical copies come with version 1.00 and the pre-censored versions so there's confusion and misinformation about what the "original" is seems really shady, and that just doesn't sit right with me.

Like I mentioned last time, I had a gauntlet of major battles to fight through in this play session. The Team Skull grunts didnt give me any trouble, so first up is Guzma. I had Cutiefly lead off, set up Reflect, and do some chip damage to his lead Golisopod with Bug Buzz before it went down. After that, I sent out Magnemite, holding the Eviolite for more bulk, and KOd Golisopod with a critical hit super-effective Discharge. I dont know if the crit mattered or not, but we take those. He sent out Pinsir next, I switched to Crabrawler. I haven't used any Z-moves in this playthrough, so I decided to teach Crabrawler Rock Slide, gave it the Rockium Z, and had it use the Z-move Continental Crush on Pinsir aaaaaaand it only did half. Well, that was disappointing. Crabrawler was able to survive a second hit (thanks to Cutieflys Reflect) and land a second Rock Slide, taking Pinsir down to low health before being KOd. I sent out Gastly to clean up the Pinsir that was left on very low health, then switched back to Magnemite to take down his Masquerain and get the victory. I was a lot more prepared for this fight than the first time around.

After that, I flew back to the Aether Paradise to continue the story and fight the next major battle of this gauntlet, Gladion. I led with Magnemite to zap his Golbat out of the air with two Discharges, then switched to Crabrawler, who was holding the Eviolite for this battle. It took out Gladions Zoroark with 2 uses of Power-Up Punch, then a +2 Brick Break OHKO'd his Type:Null to give me an easy win with no Pokemon fainted. After this was the grand trial battle against Nanu, and Im not going to give the full breakdown of the Nanu battle because it fucking sucked. I won on the first try, but I played extremely poorly and ended the battle with 4 of my Pokemon fainted. If I had made better decisions (move choices, switch timings, keeping the Eviolite on Crabrawler instead of trying to get cute and giving it to Cutiefly) then I could have won this battle much easier with far fewer Pokemon fainted, but oh well, a win is a win.

Next up is more story bullshit at the Aether Paradise.

That actually sounds like something Konami would do. If they think they might need to ban her in the future, then pre-hitting the card to 1 before release means they would only have to refund 1 UR card worth of materials when they ban her instead of 3. Plus, not many decks in the OCG/TCG are running 2 of her even when they can, and even fewer would run 2 in Master Duel if they know they can just bring the first one back with Spright Elf.

I'm interested in what my Dolphins and Chiefs do (mostly the Dolphins) and I'm interested in the Jaguars war room to see if Tony Khan will do anything to further the storyline from last night's AEW Dynamite like show up wearing a neck brace.

I don't know what I'm more terrified of: the fact that SP Little Knight just got leaked for the May selection pack, or the fact that Master Duel might have SP Little Knight and Spright Elf legal in the same format, something that the OCG and TCG never experienced. On the bright side, at least it'll only cost 30 UR dust to craft like all the other UR's and it won't be a $120 card that prices people out of the format like it is in the TCG.

Shad Khan, Tony's father and the owner of the Jaguars, took to the ring to check on his son in the aftermath of the drama.

It's all part of an angle (professional wrestling storyline), of course, but it was shocking nonetheless as Tony Khan has never been physically involved in AEW to that extent and his father's appearance added more realism to the stunning end of the show.

They got a headline on the NFL website about it. This is both incredible exposure for AEW and also high quality carny bullshit.

I made some progress today, but didn't do any major story battles. First, I looked up where the Eviolite was and flew back to get it, which will be very useful in the future. Then I fought my way through routes 16-17 and the Ula'ula Meadow to reach Po Town, AKA Team Skull's home base. Next up is fighting through more Team Skull grunts and then another battle with Guzma, followed by battles against Gladion and then the next Island Kahuna.

Pizza Hut and Papa Johns are cheaper and more convenient than my local place while still being pretty tasty, plus I get a free pizza every once in a while from their rewards programs. The local place does taste better and I get it sometimes as a rare treat, but it's not so much better that it's worth the higher price and longer delivery times on a consistent basis.

The main point that is also killing the game is the large cast of characters. I have seen people admit they were too overwhelmed by the cast of playable and recruitable characters and think it is killing the game.

This is partly why Suikoden died out.

Is there any place online where it shows all of the characters so people can look at them and pick out which ones interest them the most? And how many characters do you generally take with you into a battle in this game? I'm just wondering. When I think of "RPG with dozens of possible characters to use but you generally only use a small party of them" my first thoughts are Pokemon and Fire Emblem. Is it as extreme as Pokemon where you have to narrow down that big roster to a really small number like 6, or is it more forgiving like Fire Emblem where you can use like 12-15 or so?

Apparently this game is dropping into Xbox Game Pass on day 1, so I'll definitely try it out at some point in the near future.

Didn't get to play the past couple of days, but I played some today. I had multiple battles where random NPC trainers (like a trainer on route 14 with a Whiscash and a Honchkrow and one on route 15 with an Alolan Marowak) are wiping half of my team and forcing me to go back to heal. Things are getting rough. Anyways, I managed to make it through routes 14-15 to Acerola's trial and the battle against Totem Mimikyu. My gameplan against this thing was to lower Mimikyu's speed and break its disguise with my other Pokemon so my Gastly could then come in and finish it off with a super-effective, Choice Specs boosted (yes some guy gave me a Choice Specs earlier in the game), STAB Shadow Ball.

For the first attempt, I led with Magnemite, hoping to have it survive a hit and paralyze Mimikyu with Thunder Wave. Sadly, Mimikyu was holding a Lum Berry to heal a status and then Magnemite got KO'd before it could get a second Thunder Wave off. So I reset and readjusted my strategy for the second attempt. This time, I decided to have Mudbray and Popplio try to lower Mimikyu's speed stat (with Bulldoze and Icy Wind respectively) instead of doing it with paralysis. By the time Mudbray and Popplio both went down, their attacks had gotten Mimikyu to -4 speed and also KO'd the SOS-called Banette, so then I sent out Gastly to clean things up and it had enough power to get the job done. Also, I feel stupid typing this now, but I was so focused on the Ghost typing (because this was the Ghost trial) that it totally slipped my mind until after the battle was over that Mimikyu is also part Fairy, meaning Magnemite's Flash Cannon would have also been super-effective against it.

Oh well, whatever. Another Totem Pokemon down, another trial complete!

For most of the decks I was running the Diabellstar engine in, I was running 3 Wanted and 1 Diabellstar, so I'll probably swap it to 2 and 2 now. The only deck I was running 3 and 3 in was Rescue-Ace, but it'll probably be fine with 3 and 2.

I just want to take this opportunity to say fuck Kashtira. Or more specifically, fuck Kashtira Fenrir and Kashtira Unicorn in particular for how generically splashable they are. I just played five straight duels where my opponent opened either Fenrir or Unicorn and summoned it for free before their combo for extra protection. I was playing Zoodiacs, on the Xyz side of the event, so all of my opponents were on the Fusion or Synchro side and they were obviously not playing Kashtira decks. And yet, they were all splashing Fenrir and Unicorn in their decks because those two cards are just so absolutely busted individually. Kashtira was a mistake, and both Fenrir and Unicorn deserve to be banned.

I would rather them focus on remaking the ones that we haven't got. I want Thraccia 776 and New Mystery of the Emblem.

New Mystery of the Emblem already got a remake on the DS, but they kept it Japan-only because Shadow Dragon failed so badly. I do agree that the other Japan-only games like Genealogy and Thracia need remakes before any of the games that actually got a western release.

If the birth isn't successful, then the lawmakers behind the draconian anti-abortion laws in these states could see that "miscarriage" and charge the mother and the doctors with murder of the unborn child. So many doctors in these states are scared to even help a pregnant woman because they might end up as "murderers" in the eyes of the law and be sent to prison even if they did nothing wrong.

Oh god no, Engage ch22 is straight up ass on higher difficulties, legitimately one of the worst maps in the franchise. Just a big brawl routing Engage late game enemies and nearly all the actually useful Emblems are on the back half of the map, and you have to rout while dealing with reinforcements.

I'm going to disagree and say that I liked that chapter. The whole "just a big brawl" aspect with the simplicity of little to no emblem ring usage after being accustomed to them for so long felt like a challenge, but not an extremely annoying one IMO. Plus, it helps really sell the desperate situation your characters are in at that point in the story, hence why I praised it under the context of gameplay and story integration. Then again, I've never played the game on Maddening (Hard is more than enough for me) so maybe it really is that bad and unbalanced on the highest difficulty and I just don't know it.
