it's difficult to know what you meant with what you posted without the why, tbh.

I really dont see how. A console is not a generation. I made a statement about generations and you interpreted that as being purely about the PlayStation consoles of that generation.

As for why this one is the worst, theres hardly any games. Its an absolutely pathetic generation.

I've got to disagree on this.

the PS3 generation was trash, and I have to say that I preferred the 360 over it, in retrospect.

I also preferred the 360 and didnt even own a PS3 and dont regret that for one moment.

However, the thing youre disagreeing with isnt actually what I said.

There's nothing morally wrong with it, no. As long as he's being honest with them and not intentionally leading them on to think they can have a permanent relationship. But you'll notice that even when they're famous / hot enough that they can date only women in their early twenties and under, there are very few big celebrities who do.

When I was in my early twenties, I thought 18-20 year old girls were the sexiest thing there was, and that I would never stop preferring them to older women.

Now that I'm in my 40s, I don't. Not at all. Why would I want to date someone that young? Especially, why would I exclusively want to date women that young?

Serious question: do younger women have ANYTHING to offer over older women, besides physical attractiveness?

And if physical attractiveness is the main thing you care about in relationships, guess what? You're a shallow person.

Younger people do offer different perspectives, to be fair. Theyre less likely to be bitter and jaded and more likely to be optimistic.

But also, having a shallow relationship doesnt necessarily make you a shallow person. Yes, maybe he just gets with younger women for the physical aspects, but that doesnt mean he doesnt have more meaningful relationships with other people without the sexual aspect.

When I used to work in retail I worked in an area that had a large Eastern European and Korean population. I would say maybe about half of them knew how to get by having a basic conversation in English. At first it was frustrating because it was hard for me to get their orders right but most of them were regular customers so as time went on I knew exactly what they wanted as soon as they walked in.

The younger generation I understand because I assume they recently moved here and are still learning the language. On the flip side I would say a bunch of them were in their 50s/60s who have lived in this country for 30+ years and didnt know a lick of English. I worked a basic retail job so it wasnt a big deal, but I dont know how they would be able to go to the DMV or open a bank account or something like that.

Disclaimer: Both of my parents are immigrants who came here in their early 20s. Theyve live here for 40 years and speak English fluently (although with a pretty thick accent).

Id imagine its the same way that foreigners cope with that sort of thing here; they take a local with them.

Vietnam.

Building off of what others have said, learning a language to a point where you can be confident using it in daily interactions (not just ordering beer or a pizza) takes a huge amount of time and dedication. Ive known loads of people who think you will pick it up just by being around it constantly and thats simply not true.

As for TC asking how Id feel about a company that employs people who dont speak a word of the local language, it would be hypocritical of me to condemn them. My current employer took me on in those circumstances.

As an immigrant in a non-English speaking country, I know plenty of people who have lived here for years and barely know ten words of the language. It strikes me as strange that nobody gives them a hard time for it, but in English speaking countries, immigrants who arent fluent are often given a hard time.

It would be impossible to know that was his reasoning unless he stated it. Its just speculation.

But even then, I dont see a problem. He breaks things off with them at a time when they are still young enough to build a life with somebody else, rather than leading them on into thinking the relationship is going somewhere that it isnt.

if he was abusing women I'm pretty sure that would have come out by now

from what I remember reading a while back, the speculation was that he just dumps young women before they 'wake up one day and decide they want to end the fun and start a family'

which is shitty, but I also have held the opinion that way too many celebrities get married because they feel like they have to, when they should really just be single instead. which is why so many of them cheat and get divorced. I've never heard of Leo cheating on one of his girlfriends.

Is it though?

I dont think theres anything wrong with backing out of a relationship thats changed into a dynamic that you no longer enjoy.

Absolutely horrendous take. Yes, a lot of people are self diagnosing, but it doesn't mean that they're just trying to find something to blame their failures on.

Researchers estimate that over 8 million adults in the US have ADHD and that nearly 75% of adults with ADHD, don't even know that they have it. Social media has been amazing at spreading awareness for mental health issues. So a lot of these people self diagnosing are actually people that are just now being made aware of their mental health issues.

My girlfriend didn't get officially diagnosed with ADHD until she was 26. Because her childhood doctors didn't understand her symptoms. They only viewed ADHD as being hyper and unable to sit still, so they never caught it. But as an adult in a larger city, her new doctor was able to recognize the signs and diagnosed her. Many adults never actually get that doctor that recognizes the signs, so they continue on, not realizing.

People going undiagnosed is definitely an issue, but people self-diagnosing is not the solution to that issue.

Ive encountered plenty of parents who are desperate for a diagnosis because its a crutch for them so that they dont feel bad when their child displays challenging behaviour. There are people out there who will use it as an excuse. The thing is, it can be a very real, valid excuse for many things, but only if you really have the condition.

Because the examples you provided were poorly chosen. You may as well have asked me "do you think it's murder if someone with pseudocyesis decides to get an abortion".

"so what makes your view justified?" (I ran out of quote blocks.)

I don't know what you mean by justified but frankly I also don't care about the answer regardless. I think I've made my stance very clear in the posts in this topic. If you disagree with the logic I've used that's fine, but it doesn't matter because I'm not able to get pregnant, and I support people having the choice to get an abortion or not based on their own reasonings.

Dude, Im not trying to argue against you here. Im just trying to understand your logic because it doesnt entirely make sense to me.

For what its worth, I also believe that theres nothing inherently wrong with abortion. Also, youre right that I badly paraphrased you, ignoring some of the nuance of your position. I apologise for that.
