What If S2 was ok. I also didn't really like how it's becoming the Captain Carter show, but there were a few episodes that were good. Kahhori's episode was probably my favourite of the season.

Echo 2 & 3 down and it's getting better. #2 was pretty charming with Biscuits lol, then pretty good fight in the 3rd.

it's not amazing or anything but if it keeps like this I'm fine. ngl episode 1 I was worried about it not even reaching the Secret Invasion bar for me (not that I hate SI as much as most people), but I'm not that concerned now even if my expectations are mid.

my initial watch I was fine with it, new marvel movie I'm pretty easy

rewatch nah it's way too empty, there's nothing to make-up for the non-existent antagonist perspective. like the recent Marvels is blasted for the weak villain but I'd say at least it has a serviceable motive to drive the plot, and most importantly, the main cast have great chemistry together with a cool fighting gimmick to make the movie enjoyable even if the villain doesn't

also major shame to waste Fishburne so badly, but hey at least he got some attention in What If

like maybe if they had some time to show Strange's return to decent but instead we just have the most powerful episode in the series that ends with him repentance, the s1 finale arc he makes up for it by being the biggest contributor to saving the multiverse....... and then all of a sudden he's doing his first episode all over again and feeding people to the forge

it also feels like we even missed an episode for Kahhori, her episode ends with Strange picking her up... and next we see her she's on the run and knows everything

Peg episode gotta be the bottom for this season for me, which isn't surprising since I wasn't a fan of its season 1 debut. I want to say at least it's not just a movie redone with Peggy instead of Cap, but it starts to become heavily repeating Black Widow, not as much, but then it's also my least-fav MCU movie so ehhh. At least I still like Nat in her What If incarnations, but the Peggy & Steve stuff is tiring with cliche and the episode feels like it ends the same way again - Steve's out there somewhere T_T. Also yeah Steve being in the suit all the time is jarring. There was also this weird bit in the Nat vs fight where x is a long distance away, zooms in for a scream, then cut to her punching Nat in the face somehow? The cut was so sudden when it just showed them meters part I had to rewind that.

Kahhori tho is the complete opposite type of episode and I love it, brand new franchise here just doing something completely different, charming characters, beautiful visuals, interesting new power discovery even in the context of a unique cultural setting for the franchise that commits to the language. Lol'd at Queen Isabella getting clowned on in the end there we they held no punches. Also bless this is the episode to cameo What If's previous best work with Strange Supreme. Excited for more Kahhori!

What If good again, I think I like this ep better. Big group of characters making for a few threads I didn't expect, and with more lighthearted comedic bits while still being a more serious episode

also yeah I feel the visuals & animation for this season are just so much better than the first season

the obvious error in the withhold your vote plan is that every time it just falls back as people suffer the consequences of that choice for the next term

a strong third party vote is always followed by a collapse because people remember "oh fuck that was terrible, we have to prevent the greater evil". then they're reminded of the lesser evil and try again.

I'm completely unconvinced that withholding your vote ever really works as a threat... If you want to threaten your own party the best course of action is primarying a bunch of them IMO. Which doesn't work super well for an incumbent presidency, admittedly.

tho 248 would be a lot for 1 round per day especially kill contest that by design narrows down into a field of the least liked characters in the bunch. there's the options of doing x rounds per day, or 24/7, maybe with x hour breaks, x eliminations per round, etc - or indeed just one long round

I've done Kill My Top Character Battlers where I stuffed in the 40 best performing characters from gamefaqs contests

gdad I mean he's signing up for gbro to stay at his place which will doubtlessly result in a miserable 24/7. for gmom, if gbro gets out... she's still gets to stay detached, she doesn't have to put up with his daily monstrosity... *maybe*. he was previously harassing her with threats and shit over the phone because she gave up his apartment he wasn't paying for and by now almost a month later even he has to understand there's literally nothing that can be done about that anymore - the apartment is gone

so IF that's over with, gmom wouldn't actually have to be putting up with anything. although it would still be bailing him out and it would be a worthy lesson to teach him he can't abuse people and expect them to cater to your needs anymore, but that's also why gmom isn't decided yet and wants to do one more visit attempt.... if he continues to do the same dumb shit of the woe is me, nothing is my fault speech then he can kiss her support goodbye

ideally both parents want gbro out of prison because a) prison is tough and it hurts have their son in there, and b) being in jail makes it more difficult to prepare your case for the coming trial, and it looks worse as a defendant - so along with point a), this means to protect gbro from getting a harsher sentence it would mean a lot for him to be out - not getting into the feasibility of would he actually be good and obey the rules because lol of course he won't

there's also a depressing c) though... which is IF gmom doesn't help, that'll be a vendetta he'll hold against her for who knows how long and what he does about it. because none of this is a life sentence of course, he WILL get out, so when he does, what then? it's insidious, but unfortunately a real concern

outcome #1 best-case scenario, wednesday comes and the crown doesn't allow bail. possible! he's got 4 failure to complys on his record now and they have a text message of him trying to coach gdad to cover for him! this is the reason gbro wants joint-sureties of both gmom & gdad to both cover for him to do what he can to make his case for yet another release. unfortunately the only way to get this is to first ATTEMPT a bail hearing which could be granted and welp then he's out terrorizing again, at least until he fucks up and goes back in, again (previous attempt he lasted a grand total of 5 days at gdads).

outcome #2 "hope" is kinda that saturday comes, me and gmom visiting again... and it goes exactly like tuesday's visit went, he obviously shows no remorse or bears any responsibility for his situation which would just solidify gmom's decision to not get involved and she can say "welp i tried and he's still insane".

outcome #3 gbro accomplishes a good-guy act, gmom's on-board for the joint surety, and the crown allows it....... at that point gdad's will become unlivable for an indeterminate amount of time, either until he gets caught doing more shit, or if he threatens gmom &/or her partner again and her partner is fully prepared to just call the cops for a 2nd criminal harassment charge on him then.

no matter what any of these outcomes are, it's hard to imagine he doesn't see a guilty verdict with jail sentencing for any of his charges - failure to comply he's completely busted on multiple times, criminal harassment...... while I don't know this situation, as someone who knows him and can 100% confirm he has harassed people in the past even if he was never charged for those times, I wouldn't be the slightest bit shocked if there was a strong case against him there. if gbro can stay out of trouble til trial then wow but in the end it may not matter if he's found guilty and gets sentenced.

which yeah I always knew gdad was hamming it up but wow it's like the classic trope skit of two kids trying to get their fighting parents back together the write little notes to each one saying the other is sorry so they come together expecting an apology from and it just blows up

because in hindsight not only was gdad hamming it up about how gbro wants to talk to gmom (he really didn't have anything to say at all), but realizing that gdad was probably telling gbro that the rest of the family is all on his side and wants to take care of him and we're all working on it

you can tell from this visitation that gbro was expecting to just rant off and blame others because that's probably what he's been doing for gdad's visits and gdad's just been going along with it and becoming his lapdog, so gbro just assumed being an asshole should work on everybody!

and yeah after talking with gsis about it she called gdad about what went on and he basically just said we shouldn't have argued with him, that would should just sit there and take his abuse and "if you're gonna be too sensitive you shouldn't have gone!" lmfao, as if he wasn't literally pleading us to go under the impression that it would be all about gbro apologizing

I don't think she used her powers without the bangle, but it was hinted that she wouldn't need it anymore, that the bangle unlocked something in her. Or maybe that was interview commentary but whatever it kinda tied into the reveal at the end that Kamala's a mutant, so the powers are hers.

Probably still does boost her power though. I assumed she still got to keep the 2nd because it was just kinda given to like an understanding that it belongs with her, but yeah seeing just the one at the end threw me off
