I think what's interesting for me in this campaign is that - with Metabrawl, Fields is absolutely fighting in the pit. He'd love it.

Saoirse is the strict opposite. It's nonsense to her.

But also I like how put-toget'er Roulette is, and as I explore this more business-like side of Saoirse, I see there being room for engagement there. Which is why I tried to slide in on the card making side of things.

It'll be curious to see how Roulette reacts after the event. I think that Saoirse had room to operate as a manager in Metabrawl - and maybe that gives Roulette more of an in?

The last time Spirit saw Valor may have been Tokyo?

We still get him for times and it's always a good trip. The ghost ship is just a perfect way to travel around for the resistance - it's a little wonky but so are we.

There is a lot of humanity to Valor - convincing him to stay and help I thought might be difficult in Opal, but they've been mainstays of helping preserve humanity, despite being dead. There is a lot of poetry there.

Watch this not even end up being Oracle lol

Oh, totally guessing Oracle here. In retrospect, I don't know why I thought Aria was such a good last round pick, and I regret not taking Oracle - she feels right for this spot. She's definitely established herself with to earn a spot like this

Jack still manages to get a voice in occasionally... he's a great character because he represents a point of view that you have to respect despite it being so irreverent. It's a very important voice to have.

Vostok or Kobra are both good guesses.

The story of Sam is interesting - Saoirse shares some distaste for America like Spirit does, but hers is general anti-imperialism. To that end, she holds some great respect for the First Peoples, and since they're tied in a lot, it helps me to feel a little less out of place when helping to put the American icon back together.

The rabbit hole for Sasha just gets deeper. It's tied directly to our abduction and a supposed new Black King. And she's been in ZZ the whole time!

Yeah, Trish's appearance was "Hey Artemis, can you help find my socks?" and that was what Scar was ranking that off of.

This list (as evident by Vertigo's placement) is more overall campaign narrative (hence why dead Sue Dibny is there as well), and Trish has had a greater impact on the campaign as whole and Scar's feelings of things than she did simply as a character appearing.

One would even say that Trish had a greater impact overall on the campaign before she became eligible for a top 52 ranking.

Like, if we get into the weeds though, peeing in your shower and swimming in a public pool are both more sanitary than using a public drinking fountain.

The reason shower pissers say "it's fine" is because it's fine.

Swimming in pee, even with chlorine and dilutants, is so much more disgusting than peeing in a shower, and I don't understand how any rational person can argue otherwise.

Like, the entire point of what I'm saying is we all do "gross" shit and where we draw our personally lines is so very evidently arbitrary.

You are vastly overestimating the power of "pee build up".

My general thought with this subject anyway is that, when it comes to hygiene, everyone draws lines in their own unique ways that sometimes make little sense. And when you consider the truth of how hygienic some things actually are, people's established notions are flown out the window. Like, guff_guy in this topic put his foot down about shower peeing but I can guarantee he does some other things that are less hygienic.

But I clean my shower on the reg. And my toilet!

Pee is gross, sure, but you are still more likely to get piss on yourself that stays there from using a urinal than you are from peeing in the shower.

If you're going to use the comparison of cleaning shower to toilet, then go ahead and see which one builds up grime quicker - it's the toilet. Turns out that running water is actually pretty good at keeping things moving. Not foolproof, no, but pretty good. But that's all negligible because, again, you're washing yourself in the shower anyway.

Belief that using a toilet is less gross is just ingrained societal connotation. I mean, if the key element is "piss is gross", then only one of the options so far is best at you coming away cleanest.

Ignoring ALL that's been said about Trish above...

Trish started as a "Disadvantage" on the stat sheet for Fields - a Dependent. "Patricia McKenzie - Fieldss older sister (twin). Despite the pairs parents retiring to Switzerland, Fields continues to live in Gotham with his sister Patricia. Shes a wisecracking hardass who likes to drink, but despite the constant teasing she bereaves upon Fields, he is truly the moneymaker."

Campaign 1 sort of followed along those lines - Trish was always a dependent. Fields was always taking care of her - even getting the assistance of Dadstroke along the way. But towards the end, that independence was starting to shine through when she ran off to Lex...

Campaign 1 ended with a series of solo sessions, and Fields and Trish got to reunite and have a heart-to-heart. I'll admit, Fields's choice to traverse the Bleed instead of staying full-time with Oracle came from wanting to get Trish away from the influence of lesser-trusted folk like Lex, and to make sure he could stick by his sister. With period trips back to Gotham, of course!

Come campaign 2, and I'm playing a completely different character. I had to come to terms that Trish is totally Saoirse's type (which was difficult!) and she's been very interested in the Bleed and stuff since - going so far as to promise to Oracle that they'll bring Fields back since we know he's trapped somewhere. But Roz'etta helped explain a lot of what happened and the science is just mind-blowing to Saoirse - but she accepts it. She's read through this iteration of Trish's journal, and is just all-in.

I have no idea how Saoirse will actually react to Trish in person, but I'd be very glad to get her back around, only because I missed my fake sister enough to get a new fake sister. And Traci is mad right now!

Zatannaaaa

We saw Zatanna once and had a great plan to rescue her, but it failed due to a Speedster light construct stopping it while simultaneously punching Nikhto into the atmosphere.

I think my biggest thing about Zatanna is that Saoirse is pretty convinced she has no chance to survive through the Spectre's wrath without Zee's help - morality be damned, we need her more than almost anyone. She's maybe the best ally to deal with Superman too... Or even the Equation.

That's the way with many of us. But due to time's weird ways, we've had tons of personal development and growth.

There's a lot of this explained by Bonnie Baxter who points out that we're untethered from time and that's dangerous, especially since we're also in space, two weeks earlier.

Fiddler's sacrifice was really emotional. In the beginning of the campaign, we saw a lot of this - Ratcatcher, Peacemaker, Super Chief - a lot of people gave their lives for the party early on. But Fiddler had more time to establish himself. And so Fiddler's sacrifice felt more personal - we got to know him. We got to know why. And we got to see a life-long villain make a move to establish a legacy, not of villainy, but of heroism.

Fiddler drop also makes sense.

Ugh, there's still so much to find out about Max. We're diving in, but this new Black King that replaced him is so interesting with all of his connections to England, Jimmy, and Sasha that it's hard not to focus down that storyline.

There's such a covered truth about Max, but seemingly also a tragedy where Wonder Woman killed him, and it maybe wasn't even his fault.

I'm so hyped to have Saoirse meet Bluebird. I feel like they'll be kindred spirits.

Bluebird was really cool, and I think if we would have gone to Highland Park wayyyy sooner (80 weeks ago), Bluebird could be playing a part in the core ZZ community. As it stands, she's on a couple of timers, but we'll hit them as long as we keep returning to Gateway.

It is surprising that Nite-Wing gained the leadership position he did. I mean, he's just an angry young man. He probably was just very vocal and onboard with the Society and stuff and that made him be heard.

But in this reality, he is always looking for how things can be better... and the current state of the world is not it.

He's the kind of guy I think Saoirse respects in the moment, but in a normal version of the world, he'd have to be smart about what he was standing up to to keep that respect.

London-era Saoirse though probably would have been all for him.

Snart and the Rogues are just a really cool group to be involved with. They are clear in their stance, and somehow united in it. Suicide Squad, Secret Six... And the Rogues? We get them onboard, we have the best teams the Society could want.

I hope this wasn't too pressing of a need of Anagram - he hasn't responded since starting the topic, so I fear we may have failed him.

I enjoyed it, but I'll agree that it felt like a lot of set-up combined with keeping Gideon around to provide an opponent to "taking back Mandalore".

I think they could have revealed Gideon a little sooner. Could have started with Bo-Katan having her fleet still and not have taken so long to get to a war if there was going to be a war. But I enjoyed it.

And we haven't done the origin mission for the Sinestro Corps, but we've met a few.

Wonder Woman was an early campaign gut punch. There were a lot of things bad, but for the most part, we had mysteries. One mystery was: where is Earth's mightiest woman?

And we found out. And that really helped set in the dire circumstances we were in

People like wings.

Lashina breaking from Daerkseid is an excellent portrayal of what can be done. Lashina is plagued by Hope, but her very situation inspires hope in everyone else - seeing one of Darkseid's most fervent followers break from his grasp.

She's a powerful ally but maybe a more powerful symbol.

I have more to say about the situation when I get the chance, but I'm glad to see her high. The mystery surrounding Fire that evolved into Ice's inclusion has turned so delicate - but I suppose that should be expected when ice gets too close to fire.
