Within those choices, "I don't know."

I am of the mindset to vote for candidates/propositions I support. Only when I oppose something do I vote against it and rarely do I actually oppose something. Most of the time I would simply be indifferent. If I do not support something, I will skip that choice instead of voting against it. For the time being, I neither support nor am against either one. I use to vote for the "lesser evil" but have changed this approach several years ago.

Which is fine if the situation calls for it (i.e. new players, difficult encounter, etc.). If it is purely just for socializing, some probably see no reason to hold a conversation with a stranger they will never see again after that dungeon run. Such conversation would serve no real purpose except to kill time. Hell, the more elitist players would probably say if you are typing up a conversation, you are not maximizing your DPS. It could also be because the topic of said conversation is simply boring.

Izzythewinner posted...
since video games have become progressively more casual, QoL induced and streamlined, it has taken a very large portion of what allowed us to be humans, and that was the social part of our nature. I also want to blame party chat aswell since before we kinda had no choice but to use ingame chat. at least through that we were able to meet and make new friends, for bad and for worse as there were certainly plenty of toxic people out there i wont deny, but "nothing ventured nothing gained."
I can agree games becoming more casual/soloable reduces the need to communicate. Some of us though have simply established in-game friends over the years so we would rather socialize with those folks than with strangers.

When it comes to strangers in a PUG, I would greet the group and thank them for the party after we are done. If someone start up a conversation or ask for help, I will respond in kind. But I see no reason to start up a conversation when after 20-30 minutes I will never "see" that player again.

Yeah, "professional" attire is impractical to say the least.
I would say it depends on the work environment and interaction with clients. In our engineering office where interactions are 99% of the time via phone calls or emails, casual wear should be sufficient. Within reason of course.

At a place like a market, retail store, etc. where there needs to be a way to distinguish between employees and clients, at the very least some sort of uniform, casual or not, oughta be used.

I can kinda agree to some extent. A fellow coworker is an amazing engineer but prior to the company having an actual dress code, he just wore T-shirts and basketball shorts in the office. At the time he never met with clients and what he wore did not affect his capability as an engineer.

And then I have another engineer coworker who use to wear undersized tank tops and slippers on casual Friday. When he lifted his arms it was impossible to not notice his exposed hairy belly. So there is a line to be drawn somewhere to maintain that "professionalism".

Some clients probably do need a stern talk with in regards to our policies but at the same time, we may not want to piss them off and lose them as a client. There's a balance to be had. I think our boss have cut ties with some well paying clients just because they were too much of a hassle.

Overall, I'd say 7-8 but it still really depends on the type of game. Certain well made RPGs for example I might replay for the story but usually the story is all I would care about so if the gameplay was cumbersome in some way, I might not replay the game. I found Planescape: Torment story to be amazing but in terms of gameplay will have trouble getting back into it.

And then there's the Borderlands where it might not be the best of stories but the gameplay is fun enough that I would replay again with a different class. And then there's games with both stories and gameplay that I enjoyed such as Xenogear but I know that game is bloody long so probably will not want to get back into again.

No. I based my purchasing decision simply on whether or not I will have fun with said game and if I feel the price is worth the fun. Part of which involves whether or not there are issues with the game that might be detrimental to said fun.

All that said, I am not entirely happy the direction Bioware have gone over the years. I really enjoyed Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect series, Dragon Age series, etc. and do feel they are a shadow of their former self. Maybe I will play Mass Effect Andromeda and Dragon Age: Inquisition someday but for now, other single-player games have priority.

For some odd reason though I am still content with Blizzard despite feeling they too are a shadow of their former self.

I would say at the worst I have just been indifferent to certain co-workers when directly dealing with them. I do not fake being courteous. I am either on friendly terms with them or I see them as just someone I work with and nothing more.

There are a handful that are difficult to deal with but only one that I occasionally vent about with other coworkers during our lunch breaks and it really depends on how difficult that coworker has been that particular work week. But despite this, I do not actually hate that coworker. He is helpful at certain times but his behavior and personality is difficult to tolerate at his worst.

I used that scientific calculator for the EIT/FE exam and though part of me feels the urge to replace it with a new graphing calculator, the other part of me is telling me I will never use the other functions of that graphing calculator if a scientific calculator has been sufficient all this time. I think I just wanted a new "toy" for work.

Other jobs/positions might be more difficult but it is easier to find a replacement so there is less incentive to pay people well.

Of course this does not apply to all types of jobs/positions but is generally how/why I see certain jobs/positions paying X amount versus other jobs/positions paying Y amount despite similar workload.

I'd say common curiosity stuff like covering up your nose/mouth when sneezing/coughing whether into your elbows or something else and not into your hands or into the general vicinity might go further to limiting the spread than maintaining six feet distance.

If I can understand the issue right, the spread is purely physical by coming into contact with a surface that has the virus or the droplets in the air from someone's sneeze/cough. That six feet distancing might not do much if someone touches an infected surface and does not wash their hands later before eating something or walk through an area that someone sneezed/coughed into.

Why do you live with her then if you make over 100k?
As a single who earns half that and lives with his mother, helps with utility, property tax, and maintains the house. Why move out and waste money on rent if one gets along with said parent(s) and have a sub-30 minutes commute to work?

They posted a note about no returns on massive amounts of purchases on certain items
My local CostCo is doing the same. On the plus side, at least certain products being hoarded do not expire so after this situation is over they will be supplied for the rest of the year.

Technically I think the engineering company I work for is non-essential. We deal with material handling/storage and work with storage racks, shelving units, gondolas, cantilevers, etc. Our clients are mostly warehouse/retail stores owners.

Some of our clients might be involved with food, medicine, and distribution but we ourselves do not provide essential products/services.

The company owner sent out an official notice that if people are uncomfortable coming to work they may use their vacation/sick days or even take out money from their 401k. Not exactly the type of response I woulda like even though I am comfortable coming to work unless the office is forced to closed.

Yes and no. I did not ask for details but two engineers have been given permission to work remotely from home. Everyone else has been coming in to the office. I'd imagine it is a case by case thing and depends on how much management/our boss trust the individuals.
