Friends and I watched it this afternoon and overall enjoyed it. I enjoyed the humor, didn't feel too over the top. Though I still find the title a little odd given there are some Birds of Prey characters in the movie but Harley Quinn is the lead character of the movie. We saw Huntress and Black Canary as expected but with a title like Birds of Prey I woulda expected Oracle instead of Harley Quinn.

I'm more grind crazy when it comes to RPGs nowadays compared to when I was younger. When I first played Final Fantasy on the NES, I kinda leveled naturally from wandering around aimlessly until I figured out where to go next. Now I'm a bit more capable of figuring that part out but purposely grind to unlock more stuff with my characters.

from what I remember dark mode is more grindy than difficult.
Thanks for the note. I probably will just lower the difficulty so I can continue playing without feeling the need to farm stuff. I read farming experience is less of a thing in Witcher 2 compared to Witcher 1 and like the previous game, the bulk of the experience comes from quests. Still, don't think I wanna resort to farming Oren for gear, especially if it won't carry over to Witcher 3.

Cruddy_horse posted...
Everything will one shot you, no exceptions unless you get the special armors only available in that mode
Is the Prologue the exception? I'd admit, going from being an overleveled tank in Witcher 1 to starting from scratch in Witcher 2, I was cocky in the first few encounters against the La Valette forces and died more than twice when I thought I could let myself get surrounded and cleave my way through.

minervo posted...
but honestly do the arena mode at the start and it will tell you what difficulty you should play on.
I did and game suggested Easy. I'd admit my ego refused to accept the game telling me that and in my defense, I was playing like how I played in Witcher 1. Granted I won't deny I sometime grind until I'm overleveled so no different from play on Easy.

After dying multiple times in the Prologue I realize I can't play like how I did before and resorted to some hit-n-run tactics and using chokepoints. I'll redo the Arena anyway now that I am more familiar with the mechanics and realize how important Quen is. Funny that I used Quen in Witcher 1 as a flashlight but now it seems like a bread-n-butter spell.

Does utilizing traps and throwing daggers become a must in Witcher 2? Felt like the Arena was suggesting that especially given I was in a confine space and can't run away.

LaggnFragnLarry posted...
there really isnt any reason not to play it on easy mode
Given how much grinding I did in Witcher 1 until Chapter 5 was a pushover, I might as well. That or maybe Igni was simply too good of a spell in Witcher 1 once upgraded and I'm drinking the right potions.

When I found out Endurance affects the HP of your vault dwellers, I tried breeding "super" vault dwellers by training their endurance to 10 and leveling them from level 1 to 50 with the legendary +7 Endurance gear. Fortunately I never found that gear or I woulda been replacing a lot of dwellers.

I finally finished The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and started a bit into The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition with my imported save file. To my understanding Witcher 2 only imports your decisions into Witcher 3 so already that kinda deters me from wanting to min/max for the best gear in Witcher 2. Plus I'd imagine it won't matter anyway as imported gear usually are only useful in the beginning and replaced soon after. I still plan to do side quests though.

That being said, I'm considering reading through the book series first before continuing with Witcher 2 and Witcher 3. If the series is as gripping or better than the A Song of Ice and Fire series I'd imagine I will go through it fairly quickly.

To those who have played both Witcher 2 and Witcher 3, do you feel it is still worth the time to play on Dark difficulty and go for the various gear or just ploy through on Easy for the story since only my decisions matters in Witcher 3?

Comments and opinions are appreciated,

Thank you

I can agree with that. Being in my mid 30's, I'd imagine my hormones are dwindling so there is less of a drive as well compared to how I was in my 20's.

The really weird thing I find with my situation is if someone actually ask if I wanna get under the sheets, and said person is likable, I honestly would not know how to respond. Knowing me, I'd refuse since the life I have now is the "norm" for me. Anyway, four more years till the 40-Year-Old Virgin film is more of a documentary than fiction.

I'd say it depends on said individuals. I am single and have no property, student loans, children, etc. so there's next to nothing that I can claim extra deductions on. My mother encouraged me to have my tax done by a professional but I feel that will just be a waste of $30-50 for no extra refund. Sometimes I do think about doing it once via a professional in case there is something I missed but I keep finding myself just doing my own taxes via the Free File services.

like i said, i think its a stepping stone. over time their unrealistic expectation turns sex into an actual impossibility.
I read what yer wrote and can see that being the case for some individuals. Some learn to accept reality for what it is while some continue expecting the unrealistic until it affects their behavior as you have stated. As to why one adapts and the other can't, that is beyond me. Perhaps it is like you said, their social environment, upbringing, etc. all influences this.

Does ANY guy legitimately enjoy admitting to their friends that they aren't getting laid? Or (God forbid) admitting that they are having trouble managing the modern dating scene?
As a 36 years old virgin who have never dated anyone, honestly this does not bother me at all and I do not know why it does not as it would for others. Perhaps there is no disappointment from failing because I never truly tried. Perhaps it is because I have other single family and friends, who are probably also virgins, that I do not feel alone.

It could also be because there is no actual pressure from my family to find someone. My cousins and mother have occasionally asked if I will ever marry and I always tell em I will probably die single and surrounded by cats. They leave it at that or when they do ask it is just in a joking manner.

Regardless of what society might think about "wizards" like me, I simply have too many other concerns in life (i.e. maintaining my health, dealing with my finances, expanding my career, etc.) to be concern with losing my virginity.

dedbus posted...
It depends. It's usually when they are devalued as human beings that they begin to lash out.
I can see this being the case for some. The idea of being a virgin have never bothered me and none of my family or friends have given me flack for it either. Had that constant pressure and jokes to get laid, find a girlfriend, get married, etc. been there, I'd imagine I would have turned-out differently, whether good or bad.

Would any "nice guy" even label himself as "involuntary celibate"? I feel like there is a fine line between being unrealistic with losing ones virginity and being in a situation where losing it simply is not feasible. How many "incels" fall under the former instead of the latter?

Honestly, if I can retire before 70 and only work because I want to and not because I need to, I will be happy. My mom is in her 70s now and have been traveling twice a year to other countries. I am making more than twice what she earned, have several investments, 401k, etc. but I do not feel as financially secured as my mom. I just hope in 35-40 some years, I will have enough money set aside to be able to retire.

it's just a bad idea for legal/insurance reasons.
Can you please elaborate on why? I did a quick look through Google and most results states admitting fault legally makes you responsible and your own insurance company might throw you to the wolves instead of coming to some agreement with the other person's insurance.

I'm simply baffled at how can my own insurance possibly pushback against the other insurance when certain accidents is obvious of who is at fault.

I was not too sure about reading the books before but now after the first season and being almost done with the first game, I think I'll give the book series a try before continuing with the second and third game. I'd admit, something as simple as learning about a character and their relationships/interaction in the show and then hearing about them or seeing them in the game suddenly makes the game that much more enjoyable for me.

Funny story. Coworker said he did not like ramen and when we asked what type and where has he tried it he mentioned the instant ramen type. I was a bit baffled and had to explain that the instant ramen cannot be compared to the ones from an actual ramen shop. On the plus side, I think he is more open to other foods now. He did not like sashimi or nigiri before but after trying out some good ones, loves em now. I was the same with uni once. Had one bad one that was gritty and tasted too much of seawater. Was not till I tried a good one that I realized the one I had at first was simply bad.

I think certain products comes directly from the third party vendors and not from Amazon's warehouses so that probably screws up the shipping cost and time. Still, I am kinda curious about the algorithm for when stuff ships out. Oddly enough, there are times I would prefer a product arrive later in the week like when I am at home but because of something beyond my understanding, the product would arrive a day or two earlier. Though I would not be surprise if they purposely add an extra day or two sometimes and deliver "early".
