Nothing sexually explicit or inappropriate was shown, so there wasn't any reason why she would get banned for doing the stream. Also, Fandy received pre-approval from Twitch to do the birth stream and even the Twitch CEO posted in chat early on during her stream.

I actually watched the stream live on Twitch. Fandy is mainly known for being a WoW streamer on Twitch, so the live chat occasionally had WoW jokes/memes posted in chat.

Over on Reddit though, there's a lot of negative comments about Fandy choosing to live stream the birth. Some of the negative comments were also influenced by the fact she also produces adult content on sites I can't mention here.

As for the stream being in the WoW category, I assume that was a mistake when she first went live because it was changed to the Just Chatting category about 10 minutes into the stream.

The Twitch stream is a few seconds ahead of the Youtube stream for me, but not by much (maybe around 5 seconds ahead).

I think Mario Kart needs a bit of time to get going. One of its strengths is a high play rate and it'll take time to get there. Although, it's probably will end weaker than Mario Kart 8 when all is said and done.

MKW definitely stands as a game to grow in strength over the course of the Switch 2's life cycle, from a combination of the playrate growing over time and any updates made to the game which introduces new content (I expect some DLC for the game).

Metroid Prime 4 is a potential contender for the number 2 game of this year after Clair Obscur if doesn't get pushed back to 2026. MP4 has the advantage of being on both Switch 1/2, but I expect most of its lifetime sales to be on Switch 2. As MP4 has not yet been released, it's not possible to speculate on its strength, but it'd certainly fare better in the 2026 GotY polls as a 2026 release than if it had to go up against Clair Obscur in the 2025 GotY polls.

Witcher 3 currently has a 47.58% playrate in today's poll. That is lower than I expected for a game that has as much strength as it does.

Jury votes are a joke. But as AWFUL as they were, they saved us from an Israel win. Reminds me why I don't really watch this.

Albania was top 5 on public vote, almost same as Austria. I'm glad none of the meme songs won either (Estonia/Sweden). France/Switzerland did much worse on the public vote than expected. Interesting stuff. My favorites (Albania/Poland/Greece) all did very well in the televote.

The jury vote was very split this year, which gave me hope we could get a winner that didn't flip the result of the televote. Turns out the televote was just as split on who to support, as there wasn't a clear favorite in the televote. Sweden was thought of as being the televote favorite before the Grand Final, but they were only the third most popular entry in the televote with Estonia and Israel both outdoing Sweden with the televote.

No country got at least 300 points from either the jury vote or the televote alone.

There was one feature I didn't consider earlier as a possibility to be added to Scarlet/Violet that would be far more likely to be patched in on Switch 2 - the GameChat feature. That would at least be somewhat useful in raids.

So i've been thinking about that Japan only system and honestly if you really wanted a cheaper Switch 2 it may be a good option. The UI and everything is in Japanese but you'd pretty much learn where everything was pretty quickly with some trial and error. Even if you get stuck you can just open your smart phone and use google translate to get the gist of what the menu options are saying. The only real problem is it only uses Japanese Nintendo accounts and eshop which may mean you're pretty much locked to physical games if you want them in English.

It's not even a given that playing on a physical game on a Japan only system will let you play the game in English. Some games may use the system's language setting to determine the in-game language. Since the system language is locked to Japanese, that means you'll be stuck playing certain games in Japanese unless they offer an option to choose your preferred language.

How does he even re-enter society? I guess it would either be incredibly overwhelming, or incredibly exciting. Really hope its the latter for him.

I think it would be possible. He'll require years of therapy for both the mental health issues, along with occupational therapy to learn basic living skills. Also, that level of isolation from the rest of society would have left him developmentally delayed with his communication skills and social skills, and he will need help getting caught up on that too.

You wouldn't expect that to matter, but you could track it as it was happening. Ryu was winning in America and in Canada, so while the game was on, Dante would be winning updates. During commercial breaks, Ryu would be winning updates. As soon as the game was over, Ryu took over and managed to pull away (relatively speaking, of course, but his biggest lead was at the end of the match).

Geolocation trends also played a role here, as Dante was cleanly winning over Ryu in Europe:

This would have affected trends, mainly in the last 6 hours of the match when Europe would be going to sleep.

On the subject of rematches we didn't need to see, these two would meet again in 2018, and Zelda jumped her percentage up to a tripling. Poor Ezio, he deserved better than one career contest win.

The Oracle crowd did predict that Zelda would do better in the rematch and still undershot Zelda by around 6% in the Oracle average. I was very much on board with a massive Zelda blowout for the 2018 rematch and somehow managed to overshoot on Zelda.

Fairy and Psychic have only been used once on a final starter evolution, so I'm fine with using it more.

Fighting and Dark have both been paired with all 3 of the primary starter types, and Ghost has only been paired with Fire and Grass so far.

No Gen 10 announcement. That's good news because it gives me hope that we'll get it in 2026, with more development time to make it good. Game Freak really deserves the extra time after being put under a lot of development crunch due to the COVID pandemic.

Not even a Gen 10 teaser either.

They could still release Gen 10 on Switch instead of Switch 2.

That is a possibility, and likely the only way of getting a proper Gen 10 announcement today (with a confirmed release date). But with 2 prior generation launch games on the Switch, Game Freak's ability to stretch the limits of the Switch 1's hardware capabilities are very limited. At this point, their vision for Gen 10 might be too difficult to turn into reality on the Switch 1.

The only reason there might not be a Gen 10 announcement in the Pokemon Presents livestream is there has never been a brand new generation game released on a new system that was released less than a year earlier. The closest we've gotten to this happening was Gold/Silver (11/21/1999 in Japan) releasing on the Game Boy Color (Japan release date of 10/21/1998). The Game Boy Color was barely over a year old when Gold/Silver was released on the system.

Game Freak so far has never released a brand new generation game on a system that's been out for less than a year. They would have to break with tradition here if we are to get a confirmed Gen 10 release date that is less than one year after the Switch 2's launch (though that system has confirmed release date either).

A Gen 10 teaser can still be possible without giving us an exact release date, but with something vague like "2026".

I suspect there may be a Gen 10 announcement in the Pokemon Presents livestream based on the VGC rules for the Scarlet/Violet games. In the last VGC season before a new generation comes out, the VGC rules allows for the use of all Pokemon that can be legitimately obtained in-game or transferred from a previous generation except for the Mythical Pokemon (all Mythicals are banned). This is the year when major Legendary Pokemon like Koraidon and Miraidon can be used in VGC, who were previously banned in VGC 2023 and 2024.

I'm hyped for some Pokemon news.

And 2010 was the only contest that Jecht made it into as a standalone bracket entry. He did appear in Rivalry Rumble, but amazingly failed to make the 2013 contest with its huge pool of bracket slots up for grabs.

After that, it depends what's available. I suspect they'll port a few Switch titles over the next two/three years and add a few new features in the as game and/or DLC like they did with some Wii U titles (Maybe remasters/remakes of games from older systems like with the Mario RPG's). I'm (almost) certain they'll do something with Super Mario Wonder They'll probably be a new Fire Emblem and/or Xenoblade within a year of the Switch 2's release, almost definitely a new Kirby title, and MAYBE another retelling of Star Fox 64.

Most Switch games will be able to run on Switch 2 thanks to its backwards compatibility.

The only reason to port a Switch game to Switch 2 as a new game product is to give us better graphics, performance, or extra content not in the original Switch release.

Seeing as Nintendo consoles always release in March or November, I'm guessing it'll be November 2025.

That's likely too far off from the Direct we're getting in April. Sometime in the summer seems more likely, probably July or August, but no later than September.

The original Switch was announced in a video that was dropped on their Youtube account with no prior notice beforehand. That's why I wouldn't count on getting the Switch 2 announced in a Direct where they give us a prior notice that it's going to happen at a certain time.

In the 3-way poll, Astro Bot did very well at the start of the poll and the Power Hour due to the vote stuffing from the New Jersey vote stuffer. But FFVII Rebirth also had a strong board vote as well, which came at the expense of Metaphor having a terrible board vote. Outside of the Power Hour, Astro Bot did quite well during the DSV. FFVII Rebirth did best during the BSV. Metaphor did best in the ASV and SNV.

For the 1v1 poll, the trends for FFVII Rebirth change quite a bit from what it showed in the 3-way poll. Metaphor's best time period was the ASV and SNV, and removing Metaphor from the poll caused FFVII Rebirth to have a far better ASV and SNV performance in the 1v1 poll.

FFVII Rebirth also won all 48 hours over Astro Bot between the 2 polls in the hourly trends, plus all 24 hours over Metaphor in the 3-way poll.

Rebirth has taken the lead over Remake now, but they remain almost equal in strength.

Just noticed the UK no longer has results by region and is instead country based only.

To be specific, only England used to have results by region.

Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland have always had their results reported as the entire country. What has changed now is England's results are no longer reported by region, only as the entire country of England now.

Good showing from Astro, looks like the effects of the stuffer are pretty minimal as it is only at 57% in New Jersey now. Either the votes were removed again or they just kind of gave up, it stopped having a big effect after they got caught whichever way.

The stuffer only put in a serious vote stuffing effort in the first 2 GotY polls, with the Spring poll being the one where votes were removed. The remaining GotY polls after the Spring poll had some stuffed votes, but nothing compared to the effort they made in the first 2 GotY polls.

As expected, the New Jersey vote stuffer is going with Astro Bot today.

Astro Bot currently has 73.91% in New Jersey.
