Yeah, I looked and every video that talks about it, never actually plays a clip of him saying it. Sounds like one channel made it up as click bait and everyone else just ran with it.

There were a few topics about it here when the trailer first released. It looks absolutely terrible. Just when I thought the movie industry was finally learning to make good video game adaptations, Borderlands comes along.

Nope never. For me, part of the fun of going to the theater is having someone else there with me, so we can talk about the movie after. So if no one wants to go, I just don't go. No judgement on people that have gone alone though

That feels incredibly wrong, and would probably predispose people to thinking that the dasher somehow has culpability for what happened, and not tip them over it.

Also feels deliberate, given what we know about other gig apps, like Uber.

Hopefully people aren't taking things out on drivers unnecessarily. The only thing I've put the blame solely on the drivers for, are when they do something like picking up multiple orders from the same restaurant and then giving me someone else's order by mistake. Or leaving my food at the wrong door.

I'm more interested in writing and maybe even getting into camera stuff. I'd love to be apart of the camera crew and work my way up to a cam op or something, but at the moment, I've mainly been doing stuff for G&E and a few base gigs. For the Moana gig, I'm going to be an assistant Gripin other words, I'll likely be running back and forth from the equipment trucks and giving lazy people Apple Boxes to set their coffee and/or ass on.
I really like having that set experience though. I still have friends at FCP that I can reach out to where my work there was more writing-centric.

Why stop at camera op? Aim for that DP spot and run the whole camera crew

The Grip department busts their ass though, so respect.

Yeah, I agree with that. I've had door dash orders before where I ordered a coca cola, but what gets delivered to me is horchata. It's on the restaurant for giving me the wrong drink, but I would have liked for the driver to at least notice that it was wrong. Because horchata is a very light color, it should have been an obvious difference just seeing the color through the cup lid

The theory that's still the most plausible to me is that the boats' engines are bothering the orcas. In reports, they go for the rudder and if the boat speeds up, the orcas get more aggressive and if they stop the boat, the orcas leave.

The way tc said it was pretty aggressive and felt like a complaint, but you should absolutely try to learn the dominant language if you move to a different country. It's a huge quality of life change and can help improve your life for the better. This goes for every country not just the u.s/English speaking countries

Yeah, this. I live in Los Angeles and we have so many people that immigrate here and never learn English. It makes it difficult for them to get things done when workers didn't understand them. And a lot of them rely on their kids to translate everything, which just stresses their kids out.

I'll never demand that people speak English though. Learning the language is for their benefit, in their day to day interactions. Not because of some bullshit like "we speak English in America" that racists were saying to Hispanics.

The "joke" is that so many people from different schools all say that there was a girl that would wear cookie monster pajama pants at their school. TC is questioning how common that really was (I never saw that at my school either)

Honestly I'd be fine with him doing this if he really wanted to experience what racism was like first hand and then wrote up an article about it.

It's not really actual time travel. More like looking at a very realistic recording of the past. I do kinda think they never should have introduced that aspect though. They could have just had the games set when they are in time, and not deal with the modern era at all. I originally hated the idea so much that when that aspect was revealed before the first game came out, I refused to play the series for years

The present day aspect of the series started out cool though. The original creator had it all planned out to end after 3 games. But after his departure, they killed off his character, Desmond and have basically kept the series going indefinitely.

Last I checked that was marketing bullshit on basically all panels, when they advertise any refresh rate it's really their "effective rate" which is just a multiplier to make the panels sound more impressive than they are.

Some TVs actually do have a 120 Hz refresh rate nowadays. You just have to be careful when you're checking the specs

Dude what? No lol. I game on a TV too, because I'm not heavy into the competitive scene. But there's a huge difference. 144 Hz monitors used to be the standard, but now there's more and more monitors that reach 360 Hz and even 500 Hz now. Some of these monitors have a 1-2 ms input lag compare to TVs which are pretty much all above 5 ms still. It makes a difference for gamers that are min maxing

Monitors have much higher refresh rates and lower input lag than TVs do

If any kids saw the originals when they were rereleased in theaters before Episode 1, then they obviously didn't get introduced to the franchise through Episode 1. They had already seen the originals before Episode 1, which puts them in the same category as almost everyone else.

If Episode 1 was literally the first movie you saw, then you were vastly outnumbered by the people who already saw the originals.

Sure, older Star Wars fans absolutely outnumbered the kids. I just think you're underestimating how many kids started with episode 1 like I did and were actually excited about the movie.

Pretty much everyone who was looking forward to Episode 1 in 1999 had already seen the originals.

There was an entire generation of kids that were introduced to Star Wars through the prequels.

But I will agree with you that, for someone jumping into the franchise now, watching the prequels before the original trilogy is a rough transition. Better to start with the originals first.
