Uhh I'm kind of hesitant to say because I'm just going to get attacked for it, but it was a combination of things. I was wary of what seemed to me to be a rushed/accelerated vaccine, the fact that these aren't traditional vaccines, unknown long-term side effects (I'm less concerned about that now since it's been a while), the fact that I had COVID before and didn't think my personal risk profile justified it. I also did not like the censorship that was going on towards people suffering from very adverse effects on social media. I didn't like that a debate was not being allowed to happen. This was particularly paralyzing to me because if I can't see the other half of a debate (the "anti-vax" side), I can't really evaluate things properly, so it increased my hesitancy. I also have a friend who is a dr. for 15 years that I know IRL who told me he does not advise to get the vaccine. I spoke with a few dr's I knew, some advocate the vaccine, some did not. I had no way of adjudicating and I thought based on my own risk assessment I would just hold off.

they are, but folks who had an initial shot from J&J were strongly encouraged to get the first round of boosters to compensate for the lower effectiveness of J&J. again, the best person to talk to about this is your primary care physician.
