I will when they're actually finished.

I've given scores to 250, but they're very rough. I'll need to go over them a few more times and finetune the rankings and do writeups. And school starts in a week.

It'll be some time.

Oh ok. So is the #1000 legit or a tease?

Wait whut? People nominated real songs from Rock Band?

I should have thought about that. I have more than a few favorites from Guitar Hero.

I hope you're right, Seven. I did 500 once, and I was much happier going back to doing 100's after that. 500 was so much that, in order to process the list quickly, I just started cranking them off the line, mass production style, because I didn't want the reveal to take over a month.

Welp I guess we'll find out. There hasn't been anyone else that I know of that has ranked 1,000 things yet so it'll be interesting to see how the process affects another person here.

It was weird for me and I did indeed feel fatigued at times. Researching 1,000+ user accounts here took an a**load of reading and browsing the net to pile up enough confidence in my scoring for me to even roll it out but after dropping that final ranking it felt like climbing a friggin mountain or something.lol

The stress did convince me to create a ranking system that was more effective the 2nd time around though. The only thing I'm bumming on atm in the current ranking is that I don't have as much time to drop the actual rankings because I have less time to do them than anticipated when I started the process.

Gonna drop a bunch tonight though. I spent some time earlier prepping more than a few to make up for the lack of rankings recently.

Lol. Be strong dude. It'll sort itself out eventually. The first time I ranked 1,000 things I couldn't believe what I had gotten myself into.

And now I'm rolling out the 2nd and already working on the 3rd ...and 4th and 5th rankings lol.

The funny thing is too that with every ranking the list seems to grow. My next 3 rankings will be close to 2,000 items each.

Trust me though. Once you complete this you'll feel an immense amount of satisfaction.

Write-Up:
Hmm I thought I knew what this song was before I got to ranking it but apparently I had no idea as I haven't ever heard it or seen the peculiar video. I wonder what kind of drugs led to the imagining of the video though because it is truly bizarre. I kinda dig the beat and the message is notable and makes sense if you know Queen's passion for spectacular performances. Damn, I'm really surprised that I've never heard this before though. I kinda feel like I lost some memory bank or something considering this is from the early 90's while I was in my prime youth. I thought I had heard everything at that point since it is the time in my life when I collected the most music on records, tapes and discs. (although if we are speaking of lists I guess my collection here has that beat)

...and back to the 70's we go with probably one of the most notable Disco tunes of the decade. I've got a significant amount of flashbacks that pop up when I hear this song but none of them are all that meaningful. I think it's more of a recognition rememberance as in I can recall hearing it at least once a year since I can remember. Um.. if that makes any sense anyway. Not sure, I'm super tired atm. Anyway, Disco has reached higher in this list than I was originally expecting tbh. The song was a chart topper for a few weeks if I recall correctly.

Now for some modern beats and a dose full of sexual innuendo with Katy Perry. Not my type but I'd probably still catch feels with her in that flower patch lol. Anyway... now that my penis is done talking, this song sucks after a dozen listens or so. The thrill quickly wears off for me about around the 2nd chorus when the back beat becomes louder than everything else in my headphones. I don't think they're broken either but the notes get super sharp at a point that I just want the song to be finished. The song has been a radio hit and I still hear it occasionally so it's popularity might still be on the rise. This song was a part of my wife's selection btw.

I might get s*** for this one but this sounds so cheesy to me I dunno.. I didn't really care for the movie so maybe I'm being a little biased towards the song but maybe not. It's got an unforgettable beat if you're a pop culture buff. I don't exactly get why Loggins is singing out his lungs while laying on a bed to the verse "Highway to the Danger Zone" though. Is he about to have sex with a diseased stripper at a hotel on some highway? lol (Short write-up here nothing else.)

Almost immediately I am not pulled into this song. This is pure noise tbh and there are few moments where I was even entertained as well. I suppose I should just admit right now that I'm not interested in most Hardcore anything. Naturally for that reason I have never heard of this band until now. Oddly enough most of the song would be fine for background noise while getting pumped and productive during a mundane overnight job. If it's one thing that's valuable to an overnighter are tunes that keep you awake lol. Despite my dislike for the song as a whole it surprises me lyrically. Another one down for the Bane-man though. I actually thought all of your nominations would have dropped by now dude. Still got 4 more hanging on! :P

RANKING RE-REVIEW #3

Howdy folks. Welcome the the third of what is sure to be a few re-visits to previous rankings. This series of posts is something I decided to include because early on I had decided on a way to deal with what I like to call "Ranking Regret". I didn't realize it right away but after the first 1,000 item ranking I completed and now having compiled and reviewed 1,300 songs here It was plain as day that sometimes not enough time can be spent with every nomination/selection.

What this post series will do is grant the viewer insight to how a song may rank if there were to be a sequel. Along with the current info you get with the ranking I will also offer an approximate score of where the song could land on a re-vised list.

On the the third Ranking Regret we have...

JFC lol. Another Country-style tune, Folk actually but close enough for my wife. This tune has actually had some recent significance for me. In a world where struggling to make ends meat is a very real thing for my family I nearly had a breakdown and spent some time with this song on repeat because of it's message. It actually inspired me to go and get a new job with better advancement opportunities than the one I've been stifling at for the last 10 years. It shocked my wife that I decided to work a 2nd job and give up 7 days a week to bring us financial stability. I had been feeling less of a man a considerable amount up until the new job I've been working at for almost a month now. In my new 5 year plan with the company that took me on I'll go from $15 an hour to $24 an hour and in 10 years I have great potential to push that to $39 an hour just before I turn 50. It'll be a drastic change from the typical paycheck to paycheck living that I've done for the last 15 years or so. Anyway, this gets a new review for how inspirational it was to me. When things suck, you gotta get off your a** and do something about it!

On the the second Ranking Regret we have...

A Country Rock tune??? But wait, I don't like Country music! (Mostly true at this point) But this humdinger of a tune has resurfaced amongst my thoughts and continues to get stuck in my head so I've decided to give it a new scoring. It's unbelievably catchy in it's simplistic rhythm but carries such a happy melody that it feels like it has incredible depth. My wife actually has given me s*** for overplaying this song in the car lol. Even she can't believe that I'm listening to Country music now. (I'm really not except a few catchy beats I can't let go).

Ouch. Four 70's songs in a row. If we keep this up the 70's will be the first decade down in no time lol. Anyway, I had never actually heard this song before this ranking. I don't typically listen to Country Rock but it's tolerable although it isn't all that catchy imo. I will say though that the guitar play is pretty stellar here and we even get 2 guitar solos that are pretty cool. Among the band's fans this is known as one of the most favorite of their portfolio. I never really played too much Rock Band since I'm a Guitar Hero junkie but it was available as the final song in career mode. It's appearance there kickstarted some newfound popularity for the band in the late 2000's I guess. Holy crap! There is a 20 minute version of this included on their concert album "Bring It Back Alive".

The 70th 70's song to take the dive here. I actually don't mind this one though. It sits nice on an easy listening playlist if you are ever in the mood for that kind of music even though it is technically Pop Rock. Many of you who are Marvel movie fans might recognize this straight from Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 as it did appear on one of Starlord's mixed tapes and is also included on the soundtrack for the film. The song would end up being the only song the band would have that made it onto the charts. That makes sense to me since most of their other work I've heard is largely forgettable imo.

Meh... another popular song on the charts but it's too blah imo. It's been used in a bunch of other media over the years and to some it's an iconic love song. While it is kinda recognizable I would never agree that it is iconic. The song is Dan Hill's biggest hit of his career and it was covered by many other bands to include Tina Turner, Barry Manilow, Bonnie Tyler, Dream Theater, Donny Osmond and Rod Stewart in no particular order. I kinda chuckled as this is the first I've ever heard of AOL Radio's 100 worst songs ever but this made that list in 2010. The only reason it sits on this list tbh is as filler. I had to come up with 200 70's songs and it wasn't that easy to bring in all the best hits so I kept a list of the highest charting tunes whether I liked them or not just in case I needed to fill the list. Not a whole lot else to say about this one though.

So much positive support for this song... and so I gotta be that a** that goes against the grain. I do not like this song at all. I don't really care if a blind guy overcame odds to create some music. I mean.. I'm not a total a** so I can acknowledge that it was a feat for sure but this music just isn't for me. I can't relax to it, sing to it or even reminisce about it. The beat is fine but I'd skip this on the radio almost every time I heard it. It isn't that it's Funk either because there are some decent Funk tunes I like. I think I may have already mentioned this somewhere but I have a natural disinterest in anything this guy does just because I used to get picked on as a kid and one of the names frequently used to troll me was "Stevie Wonder". As an adult the name doesn't bother me so much but it's tough to shake all of the bad memories as a kid when they are attached to music such as this.

Hmm, it seems that I once again ranked something a bit higher than I would have originally predicted. Phil Collins has some really great tunes but then the rest fall into a single category that is strongly mediocre imo. I did grow up hearing a fair portion of his work since my mother was a fan and would usually have this kind of music playing during regular house cleaning time but... most of it just didn't interest me. I wouldn't exactly call this progressive rock as I feel it might sound like but a few different resources list it as such so that is what I went with. I'm looking forward to a couple of his other songs in this ranking, anyone got any guesses what they might be?

Ok so... I had to change the link to the music video because I just couldn't trust that it wasn't going to be a violation of the sites TOS. If you want to see it you can go check it out on youtube yourself. I will warn everyone though that the video depicts death and tragedy and some of the imagery might be offensive or disturbing to look at. You were warned. But yeah, this band is famous for it's affinity for gory propaganda and most of their music is tragic and melancholic. I don't recall atm who nominated this song but are you ok buddy? It's a dark trip through something I am definitely not familiar with. I mean sure, last year I had a heart attack that almost killed me but even through that I did not feel as much mortal desperation and hollow-ness as the music you find here.

Damn she's gonna kill me lol. Bummer for her though since this is in fact the 3rd of her nominations in a row to take the dive. Certain Pop music just doesn't keep me entertained unfortunately. I can clearly hear the catchy rings in the song but I'm turned off by something indescribable for some reason. Maybe it's because I don't find Jesse J all that attractive when she clearly thinks she is or perhaps it is her overconfidence that annoys me or is it her weird dance moves? I dunno. This is something that I'd refer to when I say the term "Dance Dance Generation" which happens to be one of the most annoying generations btw. It's possible I wasn't experiencing life in such a positive way during this generation because even though there are a lot of happy sounds, a lot of them bring displeasure and anxiety. Perhaps something I should evaluate at a later date lol.

The song that kicked off this kids career to sum this one up. Yet another tune selected by my wife (that's two in a row... better make sure there isn't a 3rd or she might get mad at me lol). Anyway, this guy can harmonize pretty darn well and the beat here is just fine. I don't tend to listen but I am familiar with the summer of it's release since there are a few connected memories I have with this as background noise. Not too proud of it but do we really get to choose what is stored in our memory banks under those circumstances? Oh well. McCartney was a Disney staple appearing on a few of their pre-teen shows, most notably the Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

Another choice by my wife. This is one of her favorites from the 70's and even from one of her favorite 70's bands. Me on the other hand... it's ok but not something I generally listen to. There is however a song by the Carpenters that I did personally select further up the list. This song was hot back in the day and was chosen by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 500 greatest songs of all time. As some may imagine this song is also a popular wedding song which was actually used in an inumerable amount of ceremonies.

Definitely not my favorite Soundgarden song. In fact I believe there are several better choices here tbh. Even so, the fans are evident since there is such a high Top 100 score. Not a ton of other stuff comes to mind but this is the first I am getting familiar with the album. I don't feel very engaged much with this tune though and sort of anticipate it's ending sooner than later. This song did make it on to the band's greatest hits album so that is sort of significant I guess. Oh cool, a cover of the song was used to promote Sin City 2 and now that I think about it I kinda remember that.
