Not as much fatigue. JMO. But I have been wrong on Celes a lot....

It took one of the fastest rounds ever and massive pushes for two powerhouses for Celes to not make finals. That doesn't reduce the fatigue IMO.

So partly to back up my claim, partly out of genuine curiosity, and partly because I have too much time on my hands today, I decided to do a quick Google search for "top Disney songs" (no quotes) and clicked on the first 10 non-Youtube results. There were a variety of lists - some top 10s, some top 20s-25s, even a couple that ranked virtually every Disney song ever. Also it appeared that the makers varied - some seemed to be individual, some seemed to be selected by a handful of editors, and some appeared to be voted on by the site's general population. Regardless, I took the top 10 from each list and the results didn't surprise me - no song appeared in the top 10 on every single list, and the ones that appeared most frequently were the hero/heroine's big moments, the love ballads, and the upbeat comedic songs. Very little villain representation and no Be Prepared. Based on the number of top 10s they landed on:

I think it's a combination of a bunch of things, but just as a comparison, women attempt suicide more than men, but men die from suicide far more than women, because men are more likely to use messier methods like a gun or jumping, while a woman is more likely to attempt with something like cutting or an overdose, far more likely to save their life.

The aggression and I guess... fearlessness maybe isn't the best word but I think you know what I'm going for... plays a lot into both of these statistics.

Really? From my experience Villain songs tend to be the most beloved in any movie.

On the internet absolutely. With the general audience and especially with the kids that the movie is aimed at, the comic relief's song is usually going to be the most popular.

Ocean Rescue seemed that way too. Gotta wonder if that was originally a non-elimination, but the lost passport and late flight made it so they'd be so far behind that production was like "Fuck it, let's just eliminate them." They didn't want to have to stay set up in so many places, after all - it's why they added equalizers after the disaster that was the Guidos electing to fall behind and Kevin and Drew eventually getting held up in S1.

There was some recent season where a team was really far behind and it turned out to be a non-elimination leg. They had no hope of catching up next leg but production didn't change the leg to elimination to put them out of their misery. That plus the fact that they'd have to hurry and make a new speedbump for the new post-NEL leg makes me think they didn't change it.

A little late at this point but there was also a season what a team lost their passports in a non-elimination leg and were told that they could keep racing until they needed them. As it turns out the next leg took place in the same country and this team spent that leg searching in vain for their passports and then got eliminated.

And yeah I think it's been mentioned but the wonkiness of Season 1 resulted in two teams being almost a full leg ahead of everyone else in the last few episodes.

I wouldn't doubt it. He was getting really fired up out there in ways that few other Survivors have. And I don't doubt that he's a nice person IRL either.

I normally dislike contestants who constantly play the victim but Shirin is fine, a. because she frequently was the victim, and b. she was wacky enough that when she played the victim card erroneously it sort of came off as "yep, there goes crazy ol' Shirin again."

I will admit that Dan's "yo momma" thing with Rodney was blown way out of proportion and probably shouldn't have even been in the edit at all, except to make Dan look foolish.

Worlds Apart went from being like 20ish in my season rankings to bottom tier as time went on. There is just too little positive to look back on. The only more recent season I dislike more is Kaoh Rong.

Worlds Apart is so weird because it has everything you could possibly ask for from a good Survivor season - great heroes to root for, despicable villains to root against, great comedic relief in Rodney, funny moments from many other castaways, some decent and unpredictable (even to the audience) blindsides, a defining episode/moment, and a satisfying conclusion. Yet, none of it just comes together well and creates a shit storm. Immediately after, God I think it was episode 10 or 11? You know which one I'm talking about. I immediately called that "simultaneously one of the best and one of the worst episodes Survivor has ever aired." And I think that statement and the reasons for it sum up the season as a whole, and because it was just so damn negative I can't give it the benefit of the doubt and have to put it in the bottom tier.

But damn how can you hate Kaoh-Rong THAT much?

Will Sims is a horrible excuse for a human being. Shirin provoked him, sure, but he went after Jenn and Mike too during his tirade.

Actually if you watch the episode again, it was mostly Mike and Jenn who WERE talking shit about him and he went after Shirin for being the easiest target, which makes it even worse.

Villain songs just don't have the same general appeal as the love ballad or the comic relief's song, especially with the kids, with the exception of Gaston which I don't really consider a true villain song (I'd say The Mob Song is Gaston's "villain song"). I guarantee you if you ask random people what their favorite song in TLK is you're going to get a lot of Hakuna Mattatas, a lot of Circle of Lifes, probably not a lot of Be Prepareds.
