I always did that, IIRC it's the only way to obtain an Imperial Guard armor is by letting the CMD. Grand Horn fight you.

Prior to that, the reward is always better for beating the enemy back.

See above

There's a red line you can't spawn past, that moves further down as you advance down the mountain. By spawning as close to the line as possible you move it.

Rinse repeat until you're camping the enemy spawns. Reducing their standing forces to 0 ends the battle regardless of how many reinforcements they still had to deploy.

Setting the speed to slowest helps with issuing attack orders to quickly overwhelm present enemy units before another one spawns

Those were easy as hell

Spawn one unit as far south as possible, start game

Leapfrog spawn to push the line all the way to the bottom, spawn a few units right where the enemies spawn

Kill the handful of initial units and win in about 1 minute by camping spawns and reducing enemy units on the map to 0. Forces a win.

Backtracking to do all the battles when they occur was far more annoying and time consuming than the actual battles.
