It was like, PW at a casual stroll. I enjoy that. I liked the lower stakes for a chance, and the fact that both Phoenix and Edgeworth are both kind of aware that it's not as high-stakes as their previous face-offs (despite how well-connected the family are). I think I might be giving this an extra point because I played it directly after 6-5, which was great but exhaustingly long as I said yesterday. This breezier, nicer, nostalgic case was like a sorbet afterwards. (Also yes, no Nahyuta) And I like the time travelling thing - it's some very obvious, clumsy symbolism for having a Phoenix/Maya/Edgeworth case but I'm on board with it regardless --- Not to be confused with XIII_Minerals. |

The series has genuinely got me three times. I mean they're always good, amusing, and sometimes surprising, but there's only three times I felt like "they got me, that's genius." I was surprised at the victim being who he was, I felt he was potentially a great villain - but --- Not to be confused with XIII_Minerals. |

There's part of me that wishes this game bucked tradition and put Nahyuta as the prosecutor of the first case. Like just, fuck it, no Payne this time, Phoenix just getting thrown straight into the fire with a scary and formidable prosecutor. I feel like having Nahyuta be introduced in 6-2 takes the edge off of him a little bit. 6-2 would be a better case if it was Klavier or Simon instead of Nahyuta, and just don't have 6-2 be a case about the new prosecutor and have it be focused on Apollo and Trucy instead. I dunno, I know this is kind of a radical rewrite of the game, but I just dislike the way they used Nahyuta. This would have been way better. Just keep Nahyuta out of the "US" entirely. The huge post, list of resources, and focus on how "everyone" must be accepted and that "heated discussion" must remain "civil" is a fairly obvious message to trans people to either make sure bigots feel comfortable or to leave. I fully believe they'll mod blatant transphobia but between the politics ban, removal of the Sexuality board, and the horrendous both-sidesing in the anti-transphobia post it's loud and clear that they're going to moderate trans people for making bigots uncomfortable much more harshly than the reverse. Fair enough. If it's any consolation, the discussions I've seen regarding transphobia and what will be modded indicate a much tighter leash on anti-trans rhetoric than before with much harsher punishments for it.
