I'm on the start of Chapter 4.

Last night, I played for four hours and... did nothing but side quests and exploring Dannagh Desert.

Yeah the dannagh desert was absolutely huge. For an optional area too. Monolith soft is wild man

I have been trodding along slowly through chapter 5. Per someone's advice earlier I haven't been mapping the whole sea out but I still stop and go places that look interesting so I'm going at a snails pace regardless. Still working on getting Intel to break into the prison. Do you unlock ascension quests after you do this prison quest or something? I'm ready to dive into those

Soulhacker seems really cool, but am I wrong for feeling like it's coming way, way too late in the game to want to bother with? I'm inclined to just pick up Soul Hack via Nopon Coins and just save all of this for post game. Feels kinda bad with how much they obviously put into this system but dude, I'm 76 hours into this game and haven't made any story progress as is despite playing literally all day today!

Im 82 hours in and I dont even have soul hacker yet lol. I just got the boat. How far am I from that?

Stalker sucks in boss fights when applying bleed is difficult or impossible.

Also I just did the teach sidequest where they slapped Lanz for stripping, and then when he asked what the problem with stripping was they were like...I have no idea. That was cute lol

I love the way the scenes with them learning about babies and relationships went. It was so well done. Taion freaking out about letting the baby hold his finger got me lol

That's what I took from it. it would've been the prime chance for him to try and connect with his brother before things got out of hand, but he was too defensive about their past.

Yeah I always thought he was being overrated at first because his movement is so slow but they really just overtuned his kit way too much. Minecart is the best move in the game, diamond weapons are way too strong, and you can't even juggle him, which should be his largest vulnerability, because of anvil being so safe and powerful. He was designed with clear weaknesses but then given answers to cover up those weaknesses and then his strengths are too overtuned leading to an oppressive character. Definitely a failure in design.

It's unfortunate because having the blocks should make for a really interesting and creative character but that isn't even why he's good. If he were normal but had blocks I think people would think he was fun to watch. Instead he is wacky as fuck and the blocks are occasionally relevant but not why he's OP which is just the worst timeline

Steve is too weird for people to want to quit and play him in droves I think. Bayonetta and Meta Knight were much more traditional characters in comparison as far as top tiers go. Steve will probably get an uptick in regional talent picking him up for results at their locals but I don't see top players switching to him in droves. Maybe Dabuz or someone would be a good fit if he wanted to debase himself further

I'm an aegis main so I'm biased but I think she's way more balanced than people give her credit for. She is like Shiek, theoretically very strong but in practice the demands placed on you to get those strengths are higher and it's hard to be consistent.

falcon is definitely weird in this game. he really has only ever been able to function in melee when he could 'run through' people. if he cant do that his kit only works playing campy

Yeah I remember having to control healer a few times early on. At this point I've had more success not doing it though because people are just dying constantly anyway and the AI is more efficient at running right to people to revive

Moebius D & J gave me a good bit of trouble. I finally just beat it but it was my 5th try. I didn't want to cop out and use classes I had maxxed out but I was going to if I didn't beat it this time lol

It's just a threshold you pass when your ranking for a character gets high enough. It matches you up against better opponents and your GSP gain slows down to a crawl. Since ultimate doesn't have a real ranking system getting a character into elite is really the only achievement the game gives you

But agreed Mio is definitely the best. I just beat what im assuming is the big midway chapter 4 fight everyone has been talking about, my current rankings are...

Mio > Taion > Sena > Eunie > Noah > Lanz

I was prepared to be a Eunie fan coming in since she's got the Melia wings and she's the hot one, but the other 3 have impressed me too much. Also her personality is just OK. She is probably the funniest one though because queens paninis had me dying

Yeah Noah's just okay. The game would definitely have benefited from making Mio the main character instead of him, since she's way more compelling.

I feel like Noah is a lot like Shulk. I also never got the Shulk love much. I think people were just endeared to him because he was British and it was unique at the time to be honest

I rarely see ragequits. Though I also haven't really played since extha left, but still. I doubt it's changed much in the past few months

Marth is a lot more fun offline. Online you are just randomly getting tippers so he's a lot less satisfying. It doesn't help they made the tipper hit box really small in ult
